  1. Welcome to the club Dan. AR's on the 308 platform are out-Fing-standing. M1's are great, along with M1a's. I love mine. But something about the AR platform in 30 cal, is truly different. Well.......maybe not so much now (a lot of manufactures these days).......but still a head turner at the range. Once guys realize that it's not spitting out 5.56
  2. Welcome aboard Will. All the other guys are hittin it on the head about the rails.
  3. Yeah, in my region, it seems to be totally random. I've gone anywhere from 5 months, to 8. I'm working on 7 right now for my SDN-6.
  4. A buddy of mine has a suppressed UZI. With sub-sonic rounds, all you can hear is the action of the sub-gun.....and the impacts of the rounds hitting the berm. They're fun.......what can I say? Now rifles. I haven't had a chance to even shoot my 300BLK yet. Ammo is not to be found.......for a reasonable price that is. But, as Matt said....the 308 sounds like a 22.
  5. Now obviously......you've been drinking waaayyyyyy too heavily. Nice rig there fisherob. Nice shootin too.
  6. Raptor........just sayin. ****Disclaimer****..........I've fell in love with these handles.
  7. Too easy. I'm not even gonna say anything.
  8. And that's exactly how they sound. Gotta love it....................
  9. Damn. That sucks my man. Especially the shoulder. That pretty much takes out any kind of shooting for a while. Get yourself fixed up brother.
  10. Pretty much like I said my man. Just a little inside joke that Unforgiven and I got started a while back. And there is no misguided love with any type of 308 AR. Except maybe CMMG..............and maybe the Rock River guys (sorry brothers........that was too easy) <lmao>
  11. I'm with Wash about the TRX handguards. Granted I'm using mine on a AR-10, but they still clamp on the same. I've never had a problem with mine.
  12. Yeah, that's what I was trying to get across. Sounds like we both picked up on it.
  13. Oh....I know that my man. But then......you can't have two guys ripping with SBR's (me and my son ya know) at the same time. I was already planning on building a real tiny (7.5") upper for this thing anyway. Afterall....I can't find any 300 ammo anyway. <laughs> Good to see you back brother. Even if it's in limited quantities.
  14. Finally tracked down some AR-10 stripped lowers. I've got 3 of them inbound for some builds that I've had parts for. And with my soon to be communist state, I was running outta time. Down to only 6 weeks until we start proudly start waving the red banner in this F-ing state. I guess that I need to find some good Russian march music. Something like the theme from Hunt for Red October (w/Sean Connery). Apparently that's what the jokers in Annapolis want us to be like anyway. <laughs> And you all know how I feel about it.................................... IN THE NECK!
  15. Sounds like you're more aiming for an all around repair parts kit. Not designed as much for the individual repair, but for someone who would be repairing many rifles (thus the 5 complete LPK thought). I like it. I would definitely get something like that.....even though technically I've already made up something like that for myself. Really, there's only so many parts involved, that a decent divided parts bin from Grainger (the 3 drawer steel slide-out type) serves as good storage. Then you just have to fill it with all of the parts. Something like this. You can hold all of the parts that you can think of. Short of barrels, upper, lowers and stocks. http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/DURHAM-Large-Sliding-Drawer-Cabinet-5W885?Pid=search I like the idea though Pat. I would definitely throw in bolt repair parts, along with lower parts. Am I close to what you were envisioning? Without maybe the steel drawer bins?
  16. You're right. The first time is a tough decision. But don't worry.....you're first time probably won't be your last time.
  17. I LIKE IT!!! Good job my man. That looks like alotta fun right there Eagle. Looks like she came together pretty good. Now all we gotta get for you is the SASS adjustable gas block, and then you'll be suppressor bound. Come on.........you know you're tempted. <lmao>
  18. Big ol hello, and welcome from the riders of the short bus (sorry.....inside joke).
  19. 2nd mortgage.......divorce costs.....local bookie payments.....pawning your car.....willing to whore yourself out.......... Did I miss anything guys? Welcome to the asylum shibiwan.
  20. Welcome aboard. Always keep at tight hold on your wallet with this crowd. <laughs>
  21. Welcome aboard Uncle Charlie.
  22. Just a bunch of F-ing comedians around here tonight I see. <laughs>
  23. Just go with the Pmag LR308 and you'll be good to go my man. As far as where to get them at......all you can do is search and scour the web. They're still not that easy to find on a regular basis yet. But they pop up here and there from time to time.
  24. ^^^^^^ Yep. He's right. They'll also take the magpul 308 mags 2GF.
  25. So I'll start this the same way that I usually do these little nuggets of my willpower (or lack there of). So I go stumbling through the local gun pushers door yet once again. I had ordered an Armalite (don't everybody act so shocked) M-15 stripped lower through DSG a couple weeks ago. So I figured that I'd go do the paperwork and get that whole mess started. Everything was going along just fine. No fuss, no muss......except for the 10 MF-ers that were there before me. But, me being the patient (right) kinda guy that I am, I take a seat on his front windowsill and proceed to wait. No big deal really. It's Friday afternoon and I've got nothing else on the schedule for the day. So eventually, I start BS-ing with aforementioned gun pusher as his lackie is writing me up. I happen to see that he had some rather short AR barrels in his case. BUT, they're 300 BLK. Buzzer sound! Don't need one of those since I recently built the 10.5" 300 BLK . So I've been planning on building a short upper in 5.56, just so I can go play with the damn thing until I can find some 300 BLK ammo. The stuff just doesn't seem to exist. So I ask him if he happens to have any short 5.56 barrels laying around. He shakes his head. So I think that I'm saving a couple bucks this time. BUZZER SOUND again! What does the rat bastard pull out from behind his counter? A brand spankin new Daniels MK18 upper. GOD.....I hate him sometimes. Now, I wouldn't normally buy already assembled rifles at this point anymore (it's more fun building them), but.......it's a Daniels. And for the price he wants for it (1050), the gears in my head start spinning. Just adding up the cost of all the parts (true Daniels parts that is) will come out around there. So....to make a long story short. As usual.....I go in for one thing......and end up with something else ON TOP of what I was already there for. Now I've a got a true MK18. It'll go perfectly on my Daniels M4 lower that I built the 300 on. Great......just great.......now I gotta register another lower for the 300 BLK upper. Sheesh.........sometimes I think that I'm my own worst enemy. At least my bank accounts' worst enemy.
