  1. Happy birthday to all you old codgers. I don't feel quite so old now.
  2. I think the East Germans perfected that for the Olympics decades ago.
  3. I'm looking to get a bug out backpack, mostly for hurricane season. Something that I can pick up and go with at a moment's notice. I'd like it to not scream "tactical bag", so nothing camouflaged. Just a clean, unobtrusive, heavy duty backpack that would hold several changes of clothes, a med kit, and peripheral supplies. If it could actually hold a 16" AR15 broken down into upper and lower parts that would be a plus. Any suggestions?
  4. I have siblings who think Benghazi is all fabricated. When I tell them Chris Stevens is unavailable for comment they just get nastier.
  5. Welcome fro the swamps of LA. Is the Blue Parrot still open?
  6. Great videos, great equipment, but they don't answer my emails or phone calls. Kind of pissed about that.
  7. Actually, if you look hard enough, you can find the AR15 machining code on the web. Now, how you'd adapt that to your specific machine is another matter. I keep toying with the idea of cncing my mill. It's a lot of money but what the heck. I can't spend it all on 308ARs (well, I could).
  8. Shepp, you should be banned for that post. That was cruel.
  9. I looked at the Ghost Gunner machine a while back. It is the real deal. I believe it runs on "grbl" code with which I'm not familiar. I asked them if their system could be adapted to do something other than AR15 80% receivers and they said yes, but that's way beyond my abilities now. It is designed to do 80% AR15 receivers and that's it... for now. He also said they'd be thinking about 308AR receivers as well in the future. I love this new generation of desktop cnc machines. There are a bunch of them now, and I'd be happy with any one of them.
  10. Welcome from the "Northshore". No lack of enablers here to help spend your money.
  11. That's Chuck Conners.
  12. Just a follow up on this. Have you had any problems with the G2S? I installed one on an AR15 quite a few months ago and haven't had any problems with it. Very nice 2-stage trigger so far.
  13. /\/\/\/\ This is far more appropriate for a piece of human debris like Weiner.

    Big Trouble

Don't. Another so-called M14 forum is made up of some of the nastiest, self-congratulatory posters I've ever read. I left that one. The CMP forum opened up a section devoted to the M14, and many of those same a$$holes migrated to that with their same bile. I love the M14, but so many of the self-proclaimed "M14 experts" are just trolls and jerks. Don't bring them here.
  15. Please have Han stop using a linear distance measurement to describe a time interval.
  16. I met Bob Hoover at an air show many years ago after watching him do his "energy saving" routine (aerobatics and landing his twin engine with one engine out). Great guy. Smooth skies to you now.
  17. Not with my Garands. First time I ever saw a shoulder-launched M1 rifle grenade. Always saw it fired with the rifle butt braced against the ground.
  18. A Criterion nitrided stainless steel 18" barrel. Can't help myself. A big shout out to Josh at Criterion who patiently answered all my emails while deciding what to get, and Ryan at MSRArms, who was great to deal with. https://msrarms.com/collections/barrels/products/criterion-barrels-18-223-wylde-hybrid-contour-barrel I blame you guys for this uncontrollable habit of building rifles.
  19. Double from the LA swamps. No lack of good people here who will gladly help you spend your money
  20. Neat looking handguards!
  21. Keep an eye on the Aero Precision site. They regularly have uppers and lowers on sale for terrific prices. If it's a blem sale, you'll have a difficult time spotting the blemish.
  22. I can empathize with the "bad day" at the range, but nothing blew up, so it's not too bad.
  23. Wellllll... we had a heckuva gala Friday night. Good attendance, a lot of fun, and we exceeded our goal to raise $25,000 for advanced brain cancer research! I'll get some pictures posted of the event. Plans are already in the making for an even bigger and better event next year.
  24. You mean "aloha snackbar"?
