I love my 3.5-15 X 50 NXS wont part with it . -
I am a firm believer that no matter the cost experience is priceless. The person who bought that will either fix it by problem shooting the issues or just buy a new lower and switching out parts. I doubt that the upper had any issues with it. Now you know to open the rifle up and if you see red neck engineering run. You are also now a little bit more understanding of how the 308 AR platform is put together. That being said I am going to stick my hand out on the last part of my post and if it gets slapped, well I'm a big boy lol. I am not a brand name guy, however having shot, owned or used various wepaon systems I have seen what works and what holds up and what doesn't. You will find out that you get what you pay for and to buy once cry once especially on optics. Only your higher end i.e. Leupold, Trijicon,NightForce,Priemer,Schmit&Bender ect. will hold a good amount of thier value used. CMMG has had some QC issues, but will take care of the issue as long as someone didn't monkey with it before returning it. You will also see that some of the stuff is high dollar, yes the qulaity is good but the name or logo is going to make you pay. Kinda like my Harley on my pic here, anything that says Harley Davidson on it cost more lol. Some of those companies albiet have rock solid product, i.e. Knights Armament, Larue, Noveske, they have a following and people willing to spend that kind of money. You will also see that there are other manaufactures that put out quality stuff and its not an egregious price, DPMS which includes Bushmaster and Remington .308 ARs, Armalite, Gerogia Arms Precision, Mega Arms, Ranier Amrs, JP Enterprises is a littler more pricey but like GAP custom stuff and good stuff. These are just a few brands that come to mind and there are a few other good ones out there. My first .308 AR was a DPMS LR 308 B with a 24" stainless bull barrel. The SOB was heavy and one hell of a shooter. It was a .5 MOA rifle at 100 yds proned 3 shot group using a Harris Bi-pod with phoneix tactical pod claws, Triad Tactical rear wedge bag and 168 FGMM. I sold it to a close friend because I couldn't use the DPMS for work. I ended up with a Remy 700 LTR in a AICS Chassis System with a Badger Ord. Bolt lift and Night Force mount, rings and 3.5-15x50 NXS. I tore my knee all to hell and no more SWAT so I took my bi-pod and Night Force and sold the bolt gun. I now have and refuse to part with my Armalite Super SASS. I appologize for going off topic here, point is plenty of good decently priced stuff out there it just depends on what you want and can or will pay for it. If your new come here first and ask before spending the money, there is a good group of guys on here all of them and will help if you ask. Especially me while I am recovering from knee surgery for the next 6 weeks lol. I have nothing better to do than get fat and happy just to work it off later lol.

Help Wanted: We Need an Armalite AR-10 Person Here

Um I bought a Super Sass just after joining hence why I came here ? -
I agree, you need a new new buffer retainer and spring, new spring and buffer as well as tube. Check out Fulton Armory, this is what they sell the items at. You can also check around on Midway USA, Rainer Arms ect. You will also need a spanner wrench to remove the Buffer Tube Locking Ring / Castle Nut that mates the buffer tube with the lower receiver. It looks like the guy who owned it before you did one of few things, he mixed parts. He could have put in the wrong combination rifle length / CAR buffer and spring in. Or mixed a buffer / buffer spring from a AR-15. It also appears that the upper lower could have been nice and tight and the thought that by cutting on the buffer tube, it might allow the rifle to open up easier. I would just bite the bullet ( sorry couldn't resist ) and just buy the below parts. Shoot the rifle makes sure it functions. You have a decent looking set up with a after market barrel, DPMS free float tube and possibly a DPMS upper receiver and a CMMG lower. Welcome to the group Buffer Retainer & Spring $1.95 Titan Buffer CAR NOT RIFLE LENGHT $39.95 Titan Buffer Spring CAR NOT RIFLE LENGHT $9.95 Providing your stock is commercial nor mil-spec, Buffer Tube 5 Position CAR Civillian $26.95 I would also order a Buffer Tube Locking Ring $4.95 incase the red neck genius screwed that up also.

DPMS .308 FTF ever round???
Zebra644 replied to VIVALABASS21's topic in DPMS LR-308 General, Technical Discussion
The shell casing dent and scratch is normal. Check the rings on your bolt to ensure the spaces in the rings are not alligned so that gas is not escaping. Check the gas key for propper allingment. Then check the gas tube/block as also previously mentioned. I would also look at the bolt stop to see if any markings are on it since you built the lower and also look at your hammer and disconnector for any abnormal wear or marks. Then i would lube the inside of the buffer tube with a heavy teflon based oil like Break Free for stainless and select fire guns. I have used it for years nd never had a problem. As previously stated oil the bolt carrier group and the inside of the upper where the it travels. -
Ship a 14.5" barrel to a state that does not allow SBR?
Zebra644 replied to Toolndie7's topic in General Discussion
If you posses parts of a NFA item such as the short barrel without a tax stamp the BATFE consideres that intent. Sepending on the agent they may allow you to explain or not and were sending you soap on a rope. The smart way would be to have the brake or muzzle adapter attached by seller if possible before its shipped out. Or have it shipped to your local gun store and attach it there. Call me paraniod or overly cautious, but I woud not want to have any misunderstood events leading to problems -
I couldn't make it through a box of ammo without a light primer strike. I sold it for what I had in it and bought a Sig 1911 officers model to replace it. Damn shame it had the problems it did, it was light, compact and damn accurate, but not reliable enough to bet my life on.

I own a F-150 FX4 and my wife has her Kona blue drop top mustang. I am not a big fan of Chevy / GMC aka Government Motors after they took bail out money and Ford did not, sorry.
-
I watched the video and read the BATFE letter of approval. I would like to try it out, and it would be kinda neat to have the safety flip over on my marked Spikes Tactical. That being said a short reset and lighter trigger pull weight used in combination with recoil management for $495 plus tax ? I wonder how much in ammo and range time ( training ) to be as quick on the trigger to justify buying one? I am sure competition shooters would like this.

In this present time we would get called by some idiot about kids playing with real guns and IEDs then get yelled at for not arresting the kids for criminal damaging by catching the grass on fire. Its very sad the turn of events. I guess the people that call that kind of stuff in never got thier sonic blaster or the detective kit. Speaking of which I would love to find one when I make detective and keep it as a funny haha thing in my den or office.

Aint no way I'd pull a stunt like that on my Harley . And keeping one in the house other than in the garage OMG my wife would absolutely kill me and hide my dismembered remains lol.
