  1. Picked up 2 Geissele G2S triggers from the Geissele website on sale. Got the trigger pin thrown in for free as part of the Cyber Monday sale.
  2. FJ, for what it's worth, the faster you push those bullets the faster you wear out the barrel. I know you said you wanted a barrel that will last a lifetime, but I have to ask another question: how often do you plan on shooting it? I would suggest a barrel from, Faxon, Ballistic Advantage, Green Mountain, Criterion, or Aero Precision (who gets their barrels from Ballistic Advantage). To address the SS vs CMV, I say that really depends on you. The general consensus on a good SS barrel is that it will shoot "more accurately" but when it starts to degrade in performance then it REALLY goes to hell. While a good CMV barrel can be "just as accurate" and the performance degradation is more gradual. Remember these are generalities, every barrel is an entity unto itself. About the twist rate, if it were me making the choice I would opt for the 1 in 10 twist. That will allow you to push longer bullets which generally equates to heavier bullets. I say generally because if you choose to shoot gilding metal they will be lighter but longer. Good luck with your purchase and let us know which way you ended up going.
  3. I'll probably get one for nostalgia sake. Don't curse me, I'm just not a 45 aficionado. Never even owned one yet. I prefer my 9mm & 40 S&W pistols.
  4. I saw that AP had their black friday sale going on. I had to pick up a Trijicon MRO instead. Besides, I need to start building sets instead of aquiring more sets...lol
  5. FJ; just curious, are you asking about a 308 barrel? I'm asking because you don't say and this is in the general section so it could be just about any barrel. Not trying to be snarky just need clarification. Also, what is your intent with this? Mountain hunting, bench shooting, plinking? Will you be handloading your ammo or buying factory ammo?
  6. Looking good Rene. I was always a sucker for FDE color scheme!
  7. Just bought a Trijicon MRO from optics planet. That'll be fun to get set up & sighted in.
  8. Or one of those CRAZY hot women slipped him a micky, and has him tied up in her bedroom like they did in the movie 9 to 5!!!
  9. Maybe he was hiding in a refrigerator, fell asleep & someone decided to move & chained the door shut during transportation? I dunno??? Lol.
  10. I've been wondering where he's been lately. Almost started a thread that would ask for opinions on his current situation. Like: did he finally end up kidnapped & locked away by one of those crazy women he likes so much??? I dunno???
  11. Welcome to the forum from Washington.
  12. Congratulations on your new rifle. It's always nice to get yourself a present!

I have to agree with Shepp on this one! Not to rub salt in the wound, but I bet you don't make that same decision again.
  14. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you and I hope you get to spend it with the ones you love.
  15. Yup, got this email too. Forced me to buy a 308 reaction rod & another trigger! Those Raptor charging handles are a STEAL!!!

I hike out that way about every week! You're right, that is pretty local to me.
  17. I've purchased 3 of the triggers in months past & really like the quality!

Yup, seems like it was a good year for my buddies. Everyone got a nice buck with the smallest being a nice 4x4 whitetail. I couldn't join them this year unfortunately.

  22. Thanks, not looking forward to the drive through the mountain passes in December but hey, I like snow better than the rain. You can brush snow off and still see the sun!
  23. I guess that the timing of my move from Washington to Michigan is rather fortuitous. I'll be on the road by the 30th of November.
  24. Welcome to the forum from Washington. I don't have much to add since the gentlemen above have already covered the most effective courses of action to get those groups tightened up. Glad to have you here.
