Is this cartridge superior to 5.56 in the 6-800 yard range? Almost double the weight and have similar characteristics to a 7.62, or at least comparable? I'm asking because I think that is the purpose of the round, to better enable boots on the ground, and not necessarily a hunting/target round. Of course I dove right back into the info pool on the 6mm ARC. Bolts, case thickness, freebore, blown belts, a tinkerer's paradise. 4385 more temp resistant, 110's too long/not too long. 6.5 Grendel supreme/not supreme. It does me good to not just sit waiting for this freaking hurricane.

Yo Mike! Hail I don't know why 0430 kicked off a chain of thought. I did the 4:30am routine for years and years for a JOB. But being on this site and guessing some similar backgrounds the 0430 rang a different gong. Standing watch I remember we had this one (perhaps there were more) SEAL. He was out every morning putting in some road work. 0430 is a warriors time table. Only the serious commit to 0430. These particular fellow ran to no bands playing or for recognition. Seeking stellar performance applause was not his thing. This solo defender was on guard and ready. Paying his dues without being ordered to. Just a stand up guy. 0430. Sorry billymagg for jumping in but, I enjoyed your writing and am looking for more. The pics brother, the pics!

What do you have on order or in the mail? Part 2
RedRiverII replied to imschur's topic in General Discussion
Still waiting on the Odin works 6mm ARC barrel, bcg, gas block and tube. It was a pre order which isn't available any longer and I guess I'm sitting on a 15% discount. -
Hey kid, I read the thread and it was nothing except suggestions. When you ever ask a question there will always be several ways to go. Detest is a strong word especially as applied to an inanimate object. We all paid a big price switching rifles about and these folks merely wanted to save you some heartache and cash. Saving people cash is not the usual fare on this site but they showed pity and concern for a newbie. Suck it up brother no harm/no foul intended. It is never a bad suggestion to suggest adding strength to your arsenal. You could walk about with a 10 lb dumbbell all day long, but stretch that weight into a rifle shaped object and it becomes cumbersome especially in a firing stance. Best of luck.

I love and support WPSN. His buddy Evan is a real jolt of energy. May God Bless their efforts.

Thought I'd jump in the pool. I married a bookkeeper 30 years ago while I was still a wild man youngster. I bought a bunch of gear without telling my wife or informing her of my decision. I went in over my head with the spending as most of us do regarding this fun stuff. To the point, I tried to bullpoopy my way out of the problem. The Mrs. was having none of it and slammed the bs session closed with, " numbers don't lie. " I had to laugh at that because you really can't argue with facts. I mean you can argue with the truth, but the Jack Daniels cost outweighs any seemingly fine quality drunk rationalizing. Numbers don't lie. " I heard tell, my buddy said, and my cousins friend's uncle witnessed..." are all terrific starting points, but the painstaking search for an operable 308 system has been discovered. It is stated on this site over and over by folks who would be better off selling the info rather than giving it away for free. It goes against the mind numbing marketing we've all been exposed to, identify a problem and then sell the cure. In our case the problem is identified and the cure offered for free which most folks find unnerving. What's the catch they ask? Folks there are many people who care for each other and want to do the right thing. How many times do you go to a range and find folks fiddling when they should be shooting? Beaucoup mes Amies. A new guy becomes more frustrated when he should be de-stressing, ask me how I know? We may lose another pro 2nd amendment shooter and that's a real price to us all. It is in our best interests to assist the shooting world. If it ain't growing then it's shrinking, nest pas? I threw in what six years of French lessons taught me, unless you want to know "Where is the library."

Welcome from Florida.

@suzukiray Very very cool story. Thanks. I cannot for the life of me believe the witless folks that pass for customer service these days. I won't go into the story but I had a CS rep in front of me in Publix. I had to look into the dude's eyes for a sign of life. None, a zombie boy.

@SmoothAction No worries brother, in truth I've never seen an unmolested thread to date. Some of the boys are dyslexic and can't recognize a 'G' letter. So they see un safe in the title, instead of Gun Safes. That's where all the broken leg stuff comes in, and broken stocks, bottles, campfires and such. My family listens dyslexically, for example. Me, "Hey did you see that President Trump sassed the Chinese?" My wife, " I need lettuce for a salad." My sister in law, " Has anyone seen the dog?" My Brother in Law, " Any beer left?" My nephew, " I gotta go for a haircut." My dog, " arf." Me, " fuggit." Them, " he's antisocial."

It's bad enough we had to become responsible grown ups. I remember when drooling over a rifle was enough, cut out a picture and tape it in my scrap book, " There I am done." But noooo, I got married and became responsible, a citizen and provider no less. Dang, being broke was an art form. I avoided the gin mills, ball games, bowling leagues, and any other place where I could be led astray. Then came the internet... you bastids. Now I'm broke, but with stuff. All sorts of stuff. Stuff I don't even know I have. Stuff must be some un-named disease. Stuffulitis. You f'kers invented a disease and I din't even need to leave home to catch it. Woe is me.

Mincing words for the sake of our wive's sentimentalities, totally understandable and righteous. You are to be commended sir!

I see COBrien, for the most part it's all for a quick laugh for me as well. My Mrs. was raised in a fear based childhood, so when she feels in charge it does her well. In my case I married a bookkeeper. There is no wiggle room when the bills come in, "numbers don't lie" she told me in the beginning of our relationship. The buy and lie approach doesn't fit my style either. I wish you the best of luck. I wonder if you intend on posting a range report?

Welcome aboard. There is plenty of information here to choose from. Good luck on your build or purchase!

HMM, another 30 cal, hmm. O snap, I went to gunpime.com and had one in my basket, $1931.00, "er no thanks". I hate these help me deny my wants and deal with mama posts, because I want one too and gotta deal with mama. I don't have children, maybe those radar towers between my legs cooked my nuggets. You fathers do have a tougher job. So I see it's on it's way Mr. @COBrien congrats on the rifle. Good luck on the snip.

God Bless you and yours. -
Y'know I do thank you often for posting, not every post which bubbles from that cranium of yours, but many. With some polishing, and grammar grease, you post magazine worthy articles. Let's call them spikes, that's newspeak for inserting special messages. Well old school message inserting. The above speaks loudly to me. For us who have less knowledge regarding ballistics and handling of weapons we get fine information . We also get carried away when your hair catches fire and we watch it burn. This last sentence is merely a metaphor for experiencing passion displayed. I've never been out west to one of the GATHERINGS so I don't reference any actual hair burnings, except I seem to remember someone falling into the pit. Anyway, If Vegas had odds on the new cartridge for the US Army, I'd place a wager on the 6ARC. I thought the 6.8 SPC was going to be it, as proof I own 600 casings for that round, sitting in the vat and stewing. All the rifles we own are perfectly good as long as they go bang and we aim well. I don't think any game shot will argue " Hey, that 6.8 ain't allowed I prefer a Grendel." I am way behind in the knowledge of what is best. I want the best but, 308, 556, and 260Rem is good enough. I am invested in the 6mmARC and building as I speak. What I have available is a 600 yd. range which is 2 hrs. away. That's a long range drive when you in your late 60"s. So when I'm finished with the 6mmARC I'm making the drive with them all. We are among the vanguard with this round. You can bet your petunia's we're on the radar. All this info is being carefully examined. We want a round that delivers a better punch at distance, and not just a round that lasts the trip down range for the US Services. Why? In order to put the bad guys down at longer distances. How is that measured? How much punch a round has at a given distance is my inquiry? Gotta walk the pup, he's giving me the eye.

@98Z5V Very cool. Outstanding. 4.0

"Man alive, (hangs head) that's improper. Acting normal just don't fit ya' son. Why let any sort of normal creep into your style. You dun let down the troops boy!"

wow, a lovely fellow and caring. I can't imagine what's up. Just got a message from the internet, it must be true. Oh for heavens sake, it's horrible. Carjacked Recently On Mars. The ruffians there met our buddy at the Mars Bar chocolate factory. Robert is seeking a super light weight anti gravitational metal which was reported by Kurt Vonnegut some years ago. The factory has an auction this weekend, selling it's older smelting machinery It's a damn shame but your order has been held up by unexpected difficulties, please remain calm.

@DNP which company. LaRue doesn't take one. They are a stand up company. When it's ready you get the call, period.

@98Z5V My beard is already gray bro. Ain't going GAP any time soon, although they do it right, all the time. They have trapped that passion bug as well as you. I told you before I respect all the thunder and fire directed toward precision you display. It passes through all the BS and fluff we find elsewhere Also who wouldn't respect anyone who'd face a red headed beaver singlehandedly, both animal and human. Dang near impossible to find a desert plainsman these days.^^^ Great posts above another thanks. 24 months @Rsquared Where did you find the patience ? Did you put money down at first ? I lost a $1000 deposit from Luke Volkman waiting on a custom 45. That was and is a long story. Did your subconscious kick in and allow you to block it out? Just funning, that's a long wait bro, at this point in time that's a no go for me.
