  1. Nice!!!
  2. A belt fed application, that's new to me. Hmm! Thank goodness no one has suggested purchasing one of these from Armalite before I posted. You know how the powers of suggestion overwhelm some of you. I never fall prey to those ideas, expect for once in every item mentioned. Or 4 times with those sig barrels, that are still in the wrapper. Or the 260, suppressor, Olight, A_Z gun lube, Athlon scope, SLR, Toolcraft bcg, LaRue triggers, Beachcraft slings, and things of a similar nature. Except for them I'm cool.
  3. Thanks for the post. I noticed among other things a free riding gas key, i.e. not staked. Using the pins as punches was pretty cool as well. On to the second vid.
  4. Welcome from Fla.
  5. Thanks for clearing that up.
  6. I'm in on sharing ideas, I'll take any advice or tips. 50% back ? I'm not sure what you mean. I hope your eyes clear up soon. I haven't watched the market with any intensity lately. I'm going to check out JOY global and see what kind of drop they've had.
  7. Glad to hear it, ^^^. I wish my tuna had fallen off the bread and rolled away somewhere. I don't know how they can mess up tuna ? Tuna, mayo, perhaps some diced celery or onion. No, they got to get fancy and add all sorts of stuff so I had to guess what the heck it was. Same same with the egg salad. Too many fixins and not enough protein. I applaud the prep involved, but not worth the trouble.
  8. God Bless you and yours.
  9. 6 hour ribs, hmmm yummy. We did get together today after all the talk of downpours. The rain was a gentle touch to a fine afternoon with family. We had four generations of folks together. The main Mom was there and I enjoyed being with her today, especially as she is generally a less than agreeable person. She is the matriarch and gets her proper respect from me, on this day for sure. How did that meal work out @Magwa ? You had me thinking about those ribs today, as well as remembering some terrific 12 Texas Brisket. We had tuna and egg salad sandwiches, yuck !!!
  10. Cool, too early, or too late for a Monday start at the moment.
  11. I ought to start one of mine while we're talking this stuff once more. I did order a gas tube from WOA 11 1/4" IIRC, when you needed to explain why you wanted the length you asked for.
  12. Understood. Either company is worthwhile.
  13. Wishing all of you a Happy Mother's Day, to those especially important people who deserve our best efforts. It's going to rain heavily in my area so we'll send my brother in law out to cook and we'll sit in the garage. Hee Hee. I'm only kidding, we'll be sitting indoors in the AC while he gets soaked from rain and sweat. If I could do it over again I'd have cared more for Mom and all she had to put up with. I was a handful all by my lonesome, add my sister to the mix and we invented all sorts of ways to get in trouble. The best thoughts sent out to all the Moms that made us able to share this site.
  14. Chris Botti, I looked the music up from watching a show, Bosch the detective series. Calm and relaxing a real treat.
  15. Welcome aboard. Good 1st post, thanks. On any new firearm I own I'll fire at least one hundred rounds before I even consider any judgements. Unless of course FTE, FTF. 308 is a pretty stout load and it's worthwhile spending some time at the range. Yes the folks here are experts, although for some reason I consider them friends and not just a source of info. I hope you find the same to be true.
  16. When threading pipe in a machine and there isn't enough cutting oil on the threads you can hear the shrieks from the surfaces. The threads chip and crack. Use the same setup with a heavy application of oil and you get a smooth cut, crisp threads, and no shrieks or squeals. Oil that BCG, heavy duty style. It'll smooth out just fine. I remember first learning about gun care and it being said don't over lube because of the dirt and grime that will accumulate. I think Larry Vickers does a goof video on over lubing a firearm. He dunks the whole gun in a vat of motor oil and then has at it. Boom, boom, and boom. The break in period is real. Let the parts mate and then get meticulous with the placement of oil and lube. Best of Luck to you and your friend.
  17. I joined targetsports.com some time ago. Free shipping with membership. I don't know if they have the best overall prices but that free shipping allows me to try different ammo in small quantities without the large shipping charges. Once a year in the 3 rd quarter of membership you get a free box of stuff based on your preferences. @shepp
  18. When I'm drinking, I prefer chilled swill, with just a dash of puke, and mosquito wings for fiber. Ah, the old days, I wish I remembered them.
  19. Thanks Shepp, I visited the site. I ordered so much stuff lately I forgot which is which. Just got 50 boxes low velocity 00 PMC from an order I thought was canceled. I did get the original price, like .63 per. I'm seeing the same ammo at 1$ per and they're out of stock. I couldn't get out early enough to pick up the 590a1 retrograde. Maybe tomorrow, Here's the Amazon truck pulling up now. WTF did I get today? Nuttin' it's for the neighbor. PMRPC re-opened today, going next week and try all this goodness I got recently.
  20. Did you alternate tightening? Seems the top screw in pic was way down, could've snapped that last guy.
  21. @Sisco I'll look for him at one of the shows soon, or go and visit the store. Thanks for the update, his site is barren for now.
  22. I know, hard to find right now unless you pay $1 per. Thankfully I can reload, I had gear stashed for a few years, gotta get to the bench.
  23. Don't buy the Tavor. Enough of that crap, you didn't really come here for that kind of backup. Why should we be the only ones being chastised for buying what we want and not necessarily what we need. Are you able to build one of them? Need is a particular desire on the part of the individual. A solitary demand based on desire. Once we go down that road of "why do you need that?", we've moved into the public discourse of justifying our thoughts, feelings, and reasons. A slippery slope at best, and some solid ground for denying the request. $1900 is a big number and may be a challenge or not. I don't know the answer. I want, on the other hand is hard to argue with. It simply opens the playing field for how to get it, what's the plan, how are you going to accomplish that? I want presupposes you are going to get it. In a way, you already own it, you just gotta figure out how to gather your forces and complete the deal. Talk you out of it? Not here, and not by me. If you are legal and of sound mind you ought to be able to own it. It might take some time but it is going to happen. Don't be needy. I waited ten years one time to take action on a want of mine. I did accomplish it, and it was a terrific feeling being able to stand on my own two feet and taking what I wanted.
  24. They are a piece of work the Mossberg. ^^^ I'm always amazed with the designs of firearms. It is especially pleasing to figure out how these mechanisms work based on springs and levers without the aid of electricity. I remember taking all my toys apart as a child and never be able to put them back together. I helped a friend at his job one day. I was in awe of how he repairs some leaking pipe in a particularly complex design using only 90's and 45's. Now after being a plumber for forty years I've started taking my guns apart and fighting to put them back together. Once I do it seems rather intuitive and easy, but that first reassembly is the toughest. Thank goodness for the internet and of course kudos to 308ar.com. I bought pump shotguns this go round, I never had much luck with the semi-autos but then again that was years ago. I see some fire with all mixed shells and nary a failure. Maybe soon but for now it's time to use the pumps. Some of the ranges had remained open but a few of my favorites are opening once again this Fri. It's time to get out of this not so voluntary hibernation. Oh yeah, I forgot I'm waiting on 12 gauge shells. I guess could load some of my own and get out on Friday. Best of Luck men.
