I didn't know I needed one until I ran into the problems with my 308 loaded rounds. I picked up a case gauge for .223 yesterday, MAN is this thing showing me stuff I have been missing for 20 years...... In one step, I am finding ready to load, needs trimming, and slightly unsized (under sized) brass...time saved compared to just running everything through trimmer. And I am not even considering the saved time from out of spec brass at the firing line.

I kept the old Speer around as it had powders in it that my newer ones didn't. I knew there have been powder reformulations over the years, and normally I don't switch things out too fast.....I get plenty of warning .

Wow, and I rely on their 4th and 7th editions yet.....along with Lee, Hodgdon's, and a really old Speer #10.... Caveman, I tell you, caveman....

Just a small piece of advice, don't get hooked on thinking that higher velocity equals better powder/load. Just because it is faster doesn't mean it is necessarily more accurate, better functioning, ect.

I have the mount on the A2 stock from Blue, and received the sling from Jacob...all I can say is WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!! I really like the mount up by the receiver on the side, and running that Beachin' sling makes the FUR so much easier to carry and sling up than the old sling I had on there. Plus Jacob's design doesn't slip/slide around much for me. I can see where there might be a bit much on the cut length, but it all lends well to cross body carry and the African style carry I use. The plus on having the sling mount up by the receiver is the rifle carries higher than with the mount on the rear of the stock.
