    You can take the front sight/gas block off. Install a free float forend and a low profile gas block under the forend.

    CDNN has a ton of barrels for sale right now. Maybe not fluted. DS Arms has fluted 16" barrels or at least they did when I bought an upper from them about 10 years ago.

    Well I'm sitting at home on lay-off and don't have much else to do while drinking my coffee. My body is still on my night working schedule though. Might mow the yard tomorrow if it doesn't rain too much tonight. Need to load some more 308's

    Yes they are known for tight Chambers. The barrel nut let's the factory set the headspace on each rifle. Part of why they shoot so we'll.

    I have had my Savage 10 so long it has the original trigger that takes a lot of work to get set up right and still work safely . Good rifle w/20" barrel. Shoots 165 nosler ballistic tips very well. Chote Plaster stock. Never regretted buying this rifle.
