  1. Welcome from KY. Go to Amazon and get a set of numbered drill bits. That lets you make smaller increments in hole size vs fractional bit sizes. Hopefully the inside buffer tube measures 7 5/8". At 8" internal depth you BCG will more than likely be slamming into the receiver ears.
  2. Yes that is one of the Bushmaster 308's. It uses metric FAL magazines. It might be new in the box but is probably about 30 years old. That gun is one of the first alternatives to an Armalite AR10. Good guns. They haven't made those in a number of years. This is before Bushmaster was bought out by Remington.
  3. Glad you got it done.
  4. Dies are pretty much universal. However the Dillon dies are designed to work on their press. For example the Lee dies may not be set up to work with the powder measure and drop on the Dillon. I load 45Colt/454 on a single stage. I use the Lee dies w/the factory crimp die so my 454 doesn't pull the bullets out of the case in the cylinder under recoil.
  5. Looks good.
  6. I have used a belly band some. A compact 1911 worked fine but the spare mags kept popping out. No retention strap on the spare magazines. Started just keeping the spare magazines in my pocket. That was before they started selling the tuckable holsters.
  7. Think they call those belly bands.
  8. Welcome from KY
  9. The trigger was a good deal. The almost $19.00 shipping sucks. That's for shipping via the post office. Last I checked flat rate boxes big enough for that trigger are still less than $10.00.
  10. Welcome from KY
  11. 338LM because of off the shelf ammo availability.
  12. Only been here about 7 years. Grew up around Indianapolis.
  13. Welcome from KY. Shelby co.
  14. Always a good time hunting with the kids.
  15. Get well soon.
  16. So are you building a SBR or a rifle? I have a 12.5" barrel pistol and a 12.5" rifle with a 4" muzzle brake. Both shoot pretty well.
  17. There is no milspec for the large platform AR's. Most are either Armalite pattern or DPMS pattern. As long as the upper and lower is from the same manufacturer things usually work out. Stag, Diamondback, Wilson Combat, Windham, DPMS, Daniel Defense all sell quality guns.
  18. Welcome from KY
  19. Who's carbine buffer system? What does the buffer weigh? What is the internal depth of the buffer tube? What spring are you using? Your barrel length and gas system length doesn't really matter if you have the proper gas port diameter for the length barrel balanced by the recoil system with the proper weight buffer and spring. The buffer should weigh close to 5.5 oz .
  20. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
