I had the same length gas tube on my PSA. The gun did run. I replaced the gas tube w/the Armalite 308 carbine gas tube anyway. It comes just past the middle of the cam cut out. -
If this is a new gun is the Bolt Carrier Group soaked with oil? When you load only 1 round does it lock the bolt back on an empty magazine? Get us the info from the waterboarding thread.

I don't remember where I saw it but there was a carry handle like the FAL's use that mounted on a pic rail. The vertical section would need to be a bit longer and curved to miss the scope.

If you start w/the gas block wide open and close it a bit at a time till the bolt won't lock back you'll save some time and ammo. Then just open it up a bit after it doesn't lock back.

That spring and buffer has to counter the mass and speed of the bolt carrier group. If your gun is running ok leave it alone. Change the charging handle to a bigger latch if needed. Changing the spring and buffer to a lighter set up will only cause you problems.

Put the upper on and check the distance between the face of the bolt and the bolt catch w/the bolt held all the way back. Between 1/8 and 3/8 is good.

He was very clumsy and fell down a lot.

I found what was left of 3 yotes. Chewed to $hit. Tucker had 4 places that needed stitches. His nutsack had a puncture that got infected so he is now fixed. He is fine now.
