  1. Welcome from KY.

  4. I don't remember where I saw it but there was a carry handle like the FAL's use that mounted on a pic rail. The vertical section would need to be a bit longer and curved to miss the scope.
  5. If you start w/the gas block wide open and close it a bit at a time till the bolt won't lock back you'll save some time and ammo. Then just open it up a bit after it doesn't lock back.
  6. That spring and buffer has to counter the mass and speed of the bolt carrier group. If your gun is running ok leave it alone. Change the charging handle to a bigger latch if needed. Changing the spring and buffer to a lighter set up will only cause you problems.
  7. Sounds like fun.
  8. Put the upper on and check the distance between the face of the bolt and the bolt catch w/the bolt held all the way back. Between 1/8 and 3/8 is good.
  9. Nice
  10. Yep not to be forgotten. Sometimes I wonder how things would have turned out of Japan never attacked us. Would we have stayed out of the war longer? Or never entered the war at all.
  11. ^^^^^ I have several O lights.
  12. Looks good to me.
  13. Bout the size of a lemon.
  14. He was very clumsy and fell down a lot.
  15. I found what was left of 3 yotes. Chewed to $hit. Tucker had 4 places that needed stitches. His nutsack had a puncture that got infected so he is now fixed. He is fine now.
  16. Yep pyrs are good dogs. Our male just had a big vet bill from fighting off yotes.
  17. Please hit the intro section and tell us a bit about yourself. Then how about starting a new thread about your Ruger. This thread is over 6 years old. 16" 308's do quite well as a hunting guns.
  18. The rear part of the receiver the buffer tube screws into.
  19. There is no milspec on these guns. The upper and lower have to fit each other. If you can't find an upper to fit that lower you are waisting your time. Maybe you should find a 80% lower that is DPMS pattern to start with. That way you won't have to modify your jig. That would give you a much better chance of building a rifle that works.
  20. Yes if your buffer tube is really 8" Internal depth the bolt carrier will slam into the rear of your lower receiver. Not good.
  21. My bad thought you were shooting a 300BO. Your velocity would probably be closer to 3050fps than 3200. A 35yd zero is what a lot of folks use for 5.56. That puts the bullet striking+ or - 6" from point blank range to a little past 300yds. Up close you just have to remember you offset of scope hight above bore. That just takes practice and shooting your gun at different distances till you get it figured out.
  22. DSA DS Arms sells FAL magazines and all kinds of goodies for FAL's
  23. Crimp in a semiautomatic YES. Buffer and spring should be good. Sounds like a springco red spring. 6.5 Creed and 308 only difference is basically the barrel.
  24. What 300bo load is giving you those velocity's? Over 3200 @ the muzzle? Your using a suppressor. If you're shooting subsonics you should be under 1100 fps.
