  1. Yep pyrs are good dogs. Our male just had a big vet bill from fighting off yotes.
  2. Please hit the intro section and tell us a bit about yourself. Then how about starting a new thread about your Ruger. This thread is over 6 years old. 16" 308's do quite well as a hunting guns.
  3. The rear part of the receiver the buffer tube screws into.
  4. There is no milspec on these guns. The upper and lower have to fit each other. If you can't find an upper to fit that lower you are waisting your time. Maybe you should find a 80% lower that is DPMS pattern to start with. That way you won't have to modify your jig. That would give you a much better chance of building a rifle that works.
  5. Yes if your buffer tube is really 8" Internal depth the bolt carrier will slam into the rear of your lower receiver. Not good.
  6. My bad thought you were shooting a 300BO. Your velocity would probably be closer to 3050fps than 3200. A 35yd zero is what a lot of folks use for 5.56. That puts the bullet striking+ or - 6" from point blank range to a little past 300yds. Up close you just have to remember you offset of scope hight above bore. That just takes practice and shooting your gun at different distances till you get it figured out.
  7. DSA DS Arms sells FAL magazines and all kinds of goodies for FAL's
  8. Crimp in a semiautomatic YES. Buffer and spring should be good. Sounds like a springco red spring. 6.5 Creed and 308 only difference is basically the barrel.
  9. What 300bo load is giving you those velocity's? Over 3200 @ the muzzle? Your using a suppressor. If you're shooting subsonics you should be under 1100 fps.
  10. Welcome from KY. Go to Amazon and get a set of numbered drill bits. That lets you make smaller increments in hole size vs fractional bit sizes. Hopefully the inside buffer tube measures 7 5/8". At 8" internal depth you BCG will more than likely be slamming into the receiver ears.
  11. Yes that is one of the Bushmaster 308's. It uses metric FAL magazines. It might be new in the box but is probably about 30 years old. That gun is one of the first alternatives to an Armalite AR10. Good guns. They haven't made those in a number of years. This is before Bushmaster was bought out by Remington.
  12. Glad you got it done.
  13. Dies are pretty much universal. However the Dillon dies are designed to work on their press. For example the Lee dies may not be set up to work with the powder measure and drop on the Dillon. I load 45Colt/454 on a single stage. I use the Lee dies w/the factory crimp die so my 454 doesn't pull the bullets out of the case in the cylinder under recoil.
  14. Looks good.
  15. I have used a belly band some. A compact 1911 worked fine but the spare mags kept popping out. No retention strap on the spare magazines. Started just keeping the spare magazines in my pocket. That was before they started selling the tuckable holsters.
  16. Think they call those belly bands.
  17. Welcome from KY
  18. The trigger was a good deal. The almost $19.00 shipping sucks. That's for shipping via the post office. Last I checked flat rate boxes big enough for that trigger are still less than $10.00.
  19. Welcome from KY
  20. 338LM because of off the shelf ammo availability.
  21. Only been here about 7 years. Grew up around Indianapolis.
  22. Welcome from KY. Shelby co.
  23. Always a good time hunting with the kids.
  24. Get well soon.
