  1. Yes, if you have served or are serving, this would be it. I'm hoping this section will be reopened soon.
  2. Thank you for serving, and welcome to the forums!
  3. MA TEN has small pins. Only Colt receivers use large pins, AFAIK.
  4. That's my silencer guy! ;D
  5. Charlotte, North Carolina.
  6. Looking forward to your data. I don't think there's a lack of participation so much as a lack of proper equipment. To date, I'm not aware of any members who are running the 16" barrel. Can't wait to see your results though! I always find the methodology behind this stuff just as interesting as the data.
  7. Well guys, this seems like the appropriate place to post this considering the discussion. By the way, I'm posting this because it's completely true and because y'all are some of the nicest folks I've come across. My boss called me this morning to ask me if I want to come along for his visit to Duke Energy headquarters tomorrow. I don't know what's on the roster but it must be pretty important, and probably has implications for whether or not we will get another contract. I'm hoping it goes well, there could be a lot of jobs riding on the success or failure of this meeting. I'll keep ya posted!
  8. Ok this is just getting downright awkward now... So I'm going to be significantly less subtle; It was an April Fools joke! BLKSHEEP was onto me from moment one so I thought I'd see how it would play. It turns out the joke is on me, a nicer crowd couldn't be found anywhere else. To recap: Me = Butthole You all = Stand up guys
  9. Aww crap, now I just feel bad. As it turns out, BLKSHEEP is the winner of this year's "Situational Awareness" award... He nailed it! I do appreciate you guys kindness though, the job search is going fairly well, I'll be back to building in no time! I hope everybody had a great April 1st! <laughs> <munch>
  10. Coincidence? <dontknow>
  11. This is just incredible...so I figured I'd tell you guys as you may be seeing it on the news here soon. As some of you probably know, I recently was told that I would be laid off as a result of our company losing it's contract with Duke Energy. After hearing the news, I bought a lottery ticket as a joke with my coworkers about my plan for the future. Well, this weekend the joke was no laughing matter, I won $15,000 and won't have any trouble covering my expenses until I can find work. Heck, I might even build 2 or 3 more ARs in the mean time! Awesome, is it not?
  12. I have the utmost respect for anyone who knows how to prioritize family! <laughs> <lmao> <munch>
  13. Yes, they will build them for either style.
  14. I figured he could be referring to timed threads, or threads specifically toleranced for a very snug fit.
  15. Here's a link to a really good article on this issue: http://www.fulton-armory.com/%5Cfaqs%5CM14-FAQs%5C308.htm
  16. I tend to agree that as much as you can close the distance, you should. However, the reason we kill so much paper is so that when the time comes we can be comfortable taking that 600-yard shot. I guess it's all in how you look at it. Myself, I don't want to make a killing shot any farther than I absolutely have to.
  17. +1 for factual data from a valid reference.
  18. I hate you passionately right now. Just FYI. <thumbsup>
  19. Nice, very nice! However, pics alone will not suffice. I must have video to be satiated. ;D
  20. We can't go after each other like this.... We'll have to work out an amicable partnership. We should go ahead and purchase the suppressors with Drew's money, and then we can split them up according to who has the appropriate host. ;D
  21. I think the safe & responsible thing to do would be to go ahead and hand that money over to me for safe keeping.... ;D
  22. Welcome to the forums!
  23. That's fantastic news, glad to hear it!
  24. I call it "Food for thought". I don't really see anything foolish about trying to have foresight.
  25. I dunno, I thought he was being sincere, not sarcastic. <dontknow>
