  1. Just think of how many brands of soda I went through, and how many times I was rebuilt before I figured it all out..... 😝
  2. If Larry and Jay come along on missions, Ron won't have any choice, he'll HAVE to learn C-17s. Ain't no way we can shoehorn both of those fellas into a 130, even with Crisco.
  3. Elkin is a nice area, our plant manager lives there.
  4. Yeah, I'm not getting a bipod that I have to make sure I'm upwind of it...
  5. I'm just outside Hickory, not terribly far from you, all things considered.
  6. On the paperwork I'm the "Owner/Manager", so you can call me whatever you usually call the Owner/Manager under your breath....
  7. I haven't forgotten it, and it means the world to me! Someone asked me what is the first machine I would buy for the company, and I told them that my first machine is already waiting for delivery.
  8. there's entirely too much of this happening these days. prayers for the deceased and their families....
  9. Larger = more flow = less velocity & more pressure at the BCG, can is already adding more pressure, optimizing the flow via the gas port renders the AGB redundant. You want the gun to run properly via proper gas port size rather than via AGB restriction. ETA: Tom replied faster than I could, but we said essentially the same thing....
  10. I promise you, if you accept the invitation to come, you will find that it actually isn't comparable to anything you've ever experienced. You'll feel like people who've walked on the moon, it's just impossible to effectively describe what it is without actually having participated. We do AARs to share highlights and whatnot, but there's nothing that can compare with the hilarity and excitement of experiencing it in person, and I guarantee you anyone who ever attended will attest to that fact. All that to say, you've already wasted too much time on not coming, you need to be there for the Fall Shoot!
  11. Oh man, you're going to need some popcorn for this next bit.... A strange thing happened on the way to fixing your part, I'll leave it up Tom how to divulge the details, but suffice it to say, it's pretty epic.
  12. "MC2, Inc" Note that it's not a superscript 2, nor is it an LLC which should suffice to differentiate, but noooo, it's a conflict... Oh, I did business name lookups before choosing, the website flagged exactly ZERO conflicts with registered business names. No surprises in the folks programming the website being smarter than the desk jockeys, but still...
  13. Oh that's the best part... It's the superscript "2" that proved too difficult for my benevolent .gov overlords. Since they can't figure out how to get it into their internal filings, they attempt "MC2" instead, and that's where the conflicts begin. So it was necessary to tack on additional words to differentiate my business name, 'cause asking a bureaucrat's minion to hold 'Alt' while typing '0178' on the number pad of a keyboard is altogether impossible.
  14. Well, I got an email from the Secretary of State's office, there is a name conflict, so I'm re-submitting under an amended name. MC² Services & Solutions, LLC is the new "sobriquet of preference" in the immortal words of Buster Scruggs. Fingers crossed.
  15. Me too, I know exactly what you mean. I just am tired of being that guy, ready to move to the "try it out" phase. Have no clue what'll come of it, except the 100% certainty that I'll learn something that I never would've learned from not doing it.
  16. Totally coincidental....
  17. I'm excited, this has needed to happen for quite a long time now...
  18. You're pretty close, Matt Cross Machining Consultants to begin with... I hope it will become incorporated as a parent company to other related business ventures, like MC Machine Corporation, Munitions Corporation, Mechanical Contractors, etc etc... There's plenty of room in the name for the expansion of the venture, that's for sure.
  19. This comment right here... Started something epic! Something I've wanted to do for a very long time and just couldn't bring myself to commit to... This is your fault, I blame it all on you: https://forum.308ar.com/topic/26085-well-i-went-and-did-a-thing/
  20. So as of today I have submitted the paperwork to register a business with the NC Secretary of Commerce. Starting my own business is something I've wanted to do for a very long time but just never got around to, and now as I'm approaching 40 years old, I'm tired of stalling. So as has already been stated, I filed to register a business name online just a few minutes ago. If it is approved, I will be the Owner/Manager of "MC² LLC". I've got a few ideas that'll hopefully lead to making a dollar or two doing what I love with all the gear I love.
  21. Guilty as charged.
