Everyone have a great Memorial Day! May we never forget the incomprehensible sacrifices that have been made for the sake of our freedom. All those that have given their lives would wish us to celebrate our freedom, but dignify their sacrifices with a few moments of contemplation and reverence as well. Meh, what's a little lively discussion amongst brothers? We don't always see eye to eye on everything, we wouldn't learn much of anything if we did. Heck, most of us have already expressed our viewpoints about this very issue, and not at all in concensus. Expecting a discussion that's political in nature not to get a little heated is unrealistic. If you have a point to argue, put it out there as passionately as you please. Just don't descend into petty BS that violates the forum rules. Finally, remember that the overall tone here is intended to make newcomers feel welcome and benefit from sticking around. It doesn't matter how right you are if people are going to disregard you for being an ass. Something for everyone to keep in mind. I wear my "Peacemaker" moniker with the same pride as Tom wears "DEWS", and I will tase anyone I have to in the gonads to restore levity. So ya'll play nice now, ya hear? Carry on!

To extend the this question, how far can you go in terms of practicality? I've been messing with this platform for just shy of 10 years, and only within the last 2-3 years have been able to shoot long distance venues. Having an 1800-yard gun won't be much fun if you only have 300-400 yard shooting venues.

That chipping showing in those pics shouldn't be happening. That's evidence of metal that's too hard and brittle, or distemper. I'd get a replacement bolt ASAP just to be safe. Your "grit" could easily be very hard tiny granules of hardened chipped metal.

I bestowed that particular acronym upon realizing his uncanny ability to recognize idiotic types at extreme distance, thus the Dumbass Early Warning System. Our policy by and large is to let folks stick around until we can get a full sense of who they are and whether or not they will make positive contributions to a community built around informing newcomers to the platform, and learning from those familiar with it and it's intrinsics. So far the DEWS has been uncannily accurate, it's up to the newcomers to prove it wrong.
