  1. That Anzio is just badass...
  2. You can't run AR15 rifle buffer parts in a 308AR rifle. It just won't work. You need to source 308-specific parts in this area.
  3. Schit,... miserable, mean, nasty... I'll probably get along with the old coot just fine! <thumbsup> <lmao>
  4. I think it's the ejector. It's extracting alright - you're getting rounds out of the chamber, just not out of the rifle. Hence, the double-feeds. Either the ejector spring is broken, the ejector itself is cracked/broken (but still retained in the bolt), or the dimensions are off (and the damn thing is tight). If it's tight, that'll work itself out with time, probably. If something is broken, it's easy enough to replace. I've got a jig made up to remove ejectors. I'm sure Mike has something along those lines, too. <thumbsup> I'm game for shooting (almost) anything, guys. I'm hitting the CG Range next weekend, on Sunday (Oct 5th or 6th, whatever Sunday is).
  5. DSG has the 5.56 Lancers in stock. 10-rounders in Black, Clear, and Smoke. Those Lancers are damn great mags, too. They list the 10-rd Pmags, but they're not in stock yet. Brother blue, you signed up for DSG Mil/Leo pricing? You should hit that before you order, if you're not already.
  6. Hmmm... The right combination of guys, that we've already sourced here. Panel van. Duct Tape. It'll work. I mean, that's how we're getting you out - you just don't know when we're showing up... <dontknow> <laughs>
  7. Ironic, I know - but he's the one that handles all the MIL and LEO programs. I swear, I'm not trying to trick ya...
  8. Wouldn't help the pitting in the cylinders, but if you ever have (just) stuck rings again, try Yamaha Ring Free. That stuff rocks. Yamaha has an even meaner one than that, as a carb dip. The Ring Free works great, though. <thumbsup>
  9. Oh SNAP!!!
  10. That's a Chev 350 bored 0.030 over and stroked, brother - don't wanna put a Chev engine in my Dodge. Too much other stuff to convert. Hell, I could bore and stroke the 318 that's in there now, and make a 390 Stroker. At that point, I'd take the 408 over the 390 just because it's easier to keep the compression ratios down to run 87 pumpgas. It's harder to make an 87 octane-safe 390.
  11. I know it, brother - I got it that way, bone stock from the owner, and I ripped it apart and rebuilt it anyway. It was already on the first overbore, so it wasn't truly "stock," and THAT piston was about to sieze. It's second overbore now, so it's at a 503cc. The frame paint is what it is - I've seriously got two rides on that thing, both at T-Day in the dunes last year. It's gonna get ridden a hell of a lot more this year. You gotta tell me about that Brute Force. 650 or 750? I've done ALOT OF SCHIT to those things. If you wanna make it an 840, lemme know. <thumbsup> <thumbsup> Much to my embarrassment, that's by design, brother. Intentional, all the way. I know that if I can entice you enough to get you out here for a trip, I'll have you out here forever. Maybe not immediately, but ultimately. I love you, man... <thumbsup> :happydrunks:
  12. Brother, you have lots of "parts" that you need to worry about. I'm going nuts trying to read what's pertinent on Fcuk-ObamaCare, and why employers don't trust that I'm already covered as a military retiree - even when I show them the letter from VA that states my healthcare exceeds Fcuk-ObamaCare. If I had to deal with gun-schit right now, even with the Fcuk-ObamaCare, I don't know what I'd do. Go to Vermont, brother. Quit fretting the new laws in CT, and get across that border. You have too much stock in this - way too much at stake here.
  13. Brother, you haven't noticed the "Cali Influence" in things around here? The "new liberal" schit in the two major cities is enough. Phoenix and Tucson can kiss my ass.
  14. Which logo, brother? The banner logo, of like the one on the t-shirts? Here's the banner logo...
  15. Powerman, I checked out this thread late on the first day that you'd posted it. I saw some of the answers given to you, so I didn't reply. No need, especially since survivalshop gave you the most common answer to your general question - mags are the primary cause. Others listed other causes, and it was pretty well covered. I saw the thread go into two pages, then three, so I checked into the thread to see what was up. I was kinda shocked to see, at the top of page 3, Matt's response. At that point, I went through the whole thread to try to find out where things went sideways, and caused that reply by Matt. I found it. Well, that ^^^ was the first thing I saw on the subject when I first opened it, and I saw about a 1/2 dozen replies giving you info. This is definitely "conflicting information," here in red. You said nothing in specific, but it was something specific - you kinda screwed yourself. Those scrape marks on your brass aren't from the bolt lugs. They're from the barrel extension. Not a big deal, in the least, unless you're concerned that they've cut the brass, and it might be weak to reload. Function-wise, those scrapes don't matter. Above ^^^, that's a double feed, or a failure to eject. You got the round out of the chamber (extractor is working), but the round didn't eject from the rifle (ejector problem). There's a topic on possible ejector problems going on right now, elsewhere on the board. It's got the details. As far as all the "ejection pattern" stuff - overgassed, undergassed, wrong weighted buffer - I personally don't care where it goes, as long as it goes in the same general direction, and as long as it gets out of my rifle. I'm not going to chase "ejection modification" solutions over somebody saying "it should always land in a pile at 3:30 about 4.78 feet away..." As long as it routinely clears my rifle, I don't think it matters where it goes. My $0.02. I guess you stated it later in the thread, but in this specific post here ^^^, you mentioned your buffer parts, but not the manufacturer. If those parts aren't all from Armalite, or Armalite branded (specifically, that receiver extension), then you might have issues with the combination. AR-15 carbine receiver extensions have an internal depth of 7". Doesn't matter how long they are on the outside, because the outside doesn't affect the function of the weapon. You should always measure the internal depth, when trying to determine a problem. The Armalite AR-10 CAR receiver extension This very well be the problem. That VLTOR receiver extension is for the VLTOR A5 buffer system, designed for a 20" AR-15, in order to increase the reliability when running it with a collapsible stock setup. That's the only thing it's designed for. The Marine Corps runs this combination frequently. This is everything I want to reply to. I'll get to it later, and modify this post. Updated, with comments. I'd like to see Slash from HeavyBuffers jump in here with input.
  16. If I can figure out a way, I'll come up there and help you pack/move/unpack. Vermont still seems good, but I don't trust anything "New England." That's how the libs in Cali rolled up the coast and destroyed Oregon and Washington, then they started spreading east. We've got their bullschit here in AZ now, as well as NV. We can't stop them, but we can only hope to contain them...
  17. It's safe - the "free services" are all but gone now, and that's due to the privacy aspect of it, in this internet age. Paying is the only way to go these days.
  18. I need a Chrysler 408 Stroker engine, damnit. 360 punched out and stroked. I need to put that damn thing in the truck, so I can rebuild the 318 in the truck - and put it in the Jeep. The 4.0L Jeep engine (heavily worked over) needs to go into some kind of sand vehicle that I don't even have yet... Plans, plans, plans...
  19. They'd be sweet with a certain logo on them. I'm just sayin'... I'd be in for a couple. <thumbsup>
  20. I hate that for you, brother - big time. That's asinine. Rather Ass-holian in nature. Even if you could get all those POS politicos out of office, I don't think someone with enough sack would replace them and change it. I know you get tired of hearing it, so I won't say it. However, if it was me, I'm used to it. I'd move the fcuk out of that state with a quickness. Especially if I had all the stuff you have. My list of possibilities would NOT include Cali, Colorado, Mass, New York, Washington, Washinton DC (BIG Fcuk No on that one), or any other New England state. I'd flee the Eastern Seaboard, head west to someplace safe, and never, ever look back. Brother, it'll never, ever get better there. Like, ever...
  21. It's going off the local location of your service provider. They have a primary office in that other city, brother. Cracking cell numbers is tough these days. Used to be a piece of cake, but privacy laws and such now make it tougher. Many times you'll run a number, and you'll only get that city where there's an office - it means you're close, but you might not have the details needed. On the 608-931 number, I'm getting United States Cellular Corp in Janesville, WI. You can always register a complaint with them, man... <thumbsup>
  22. I love the trikes, either 2 or 4-stroke. I always thought the 200X was a great machine. Then I put one up the back of my leg... no skin from ankle to ass... :'( This will give Drew a woody... I've done a lot of work on the TRX engine, too...
  23. That is an awesome piece of work, Jgun - well done!
  24. Been through that, brother. Panama 1989. Had to do a 2-week course when I got to 7th ID, so I know what ya mean! The whole depth-perception thing put me on the ground a few times. I was rockin' a spectacular set of PVS-5 goggles, too... Snowmobiles and PVS-7s are a MUCH better combination! I got you covered, man, head on over. '06 LTR and '86 TRX-250R with a 310 engine. The old 2-stroke wins more than the EFI 450 4-stroke does. <thumbsup>
  25. The grass is a fight, that's for damn sure... :rant2:
