  1. Fuk Loc-Tite for that - you need Rock-Sett.
  2. Stay strong, brother - that's the only thing you can do... Muscle through it... (She's gonna smack me... )
  3. That barrel right there will get it done, for your stated hunting needs. Ounces = pounds, and pounds = pain. Infantryman's Rule. If I was gonna deer hunt a .308AR at 400 yards max, it would have a 16" barrel. If I was gonna deer hunt a 6.5 Grendel at 400 yards max, it would have a 12.5" barrel.
  4. I've learned this the hard way - I think. That means "I don't know if I've learned it or not, by now." I keep trying. Wildlife taught me, the hard way. You don't under-estimate an animal, based on it's looks. If it looks slow, fat, lethargic - or if it looks "cute and harmless" - it has the speed and violence-of-action to kill you with an immediate burst of sudden violence and destructive nature. Okay, I get it. Now... That's a painful lesson, literally. I think I've learned this with women, too - at least, I like to tell myself I've learned those lessons. I keep falling into the same traps, though... One day, I'll either get it or I won't, and a critter or a woman is just gonna straight kill me. At that point, I'll know for sure whether I was dumb or smart, learned or not...
  5. Yep, @WestGaDad is pretty solid. I like that guy, the mentality, everything... Good people. His woman, though... just kidding, about Peach?...
  6. Toss a P7100 injection pump on a 12V, and just crank it up. That's easy power and torque, right there, brother.
  7. Holosun was actually able to disclose that at SHOT last year, based in the fact that there's not an NDA on file with PA. I specifically asked them (the Holosun Rep) about that, and praised the PA red dot performance on the 45-70 to him... VERY WELL DONE, my man! My direct follow-up question was "Do you make the SIG red dots?..." The answer I got was, "I cannot disclose that information, based on a possible NDA..." He was smoooooth... There was no denial, but based on the "lack of confirmation" or the inability-to-confirm - Holosun makes the SIG red dots, and there's an NDA in place... Busted?... In a way?...
  8. When I got divorced from the first one, and had the house all to myself - I converted the YJ 231 t-case over to the larger mainshaft and fixed yoke conversion - and I cleaned that fucker in the dishwasher. Took pics of it coming out, to send to her, too... I completely get it...
  9. Truth, in that. Straight cut gears in the RV trans, which is not the helical-cut gears in the car/truck trans. It's the identical argument of a Chev TH400 vs. a TH475 - the 475 was the RV trans, with straight cut gears. As much as I say I hate working on autos, I've made some money swapping TH475 motorhome gears into TH400 transmissions, for wheeling buddies. Fuckin' bulletproof trans, right there.
  10. Ryan Cleckner NAILED IT TODAY on Fox News, about this BS. https://video.foxnews.com/v/6083467670001/#sp=show-clips Now Kroger has done it - which owns Fry's grocery stores, and where I shop for food here. We'll see how long it takes Fry's to get on board with this, with signs. I've had cashier's at Fry's THANK ME for carrying, openly, in the past. Small town, in the southwest - they appreciate it. I mentioned it at the top part of this page - if every single patron inside that establishment was legally conducting open-carry - how many fukheads would think that they can "take that store" and shoot people in there?!... Wal-mart, Kroger, and these other companies jumping on this bandwagon, are only creating another "soft target" in the minds of those that are mentally-fucked. It's another Gun Free Zone, just not one that's Govt mandated - it's retailer-mandated. They have that right, too. But, my question is - if they're creating a LARGER MARKET for this Gun Free Zone crap... Then, WHO in Wal-mart and Kroger's is going to protect me?... If you strip me of the right to protect myself, then you MUST ASSUME THE RESPONSIBILITY to protect me, while in your establishment. Especially, since you've just now created yourselves as a "bigger target" to the whackos.
  11. Yep, easily. We've done that many times out here in the desert, at 850-yard targets. 16" barrel can get that done. It's more drop at that distance than some crazy-long barrel - but it gets out there repeatably, every time. You can dial and just hit it. You won't get a 150gr projectile out that far, and have MOA-ish groups in target, but you can get a 175gr or 178gr out there every single time, right where you want it (all things considered for that distance, wind, holds/dials, etc.).
  12. "Shift on the Fly" Jeep 4WD systems (only the solid front axle systems - not that weiner IFS shiit) have a "Center Axle Disconnect" (CAD) on the long side-shaft in the front axle - eliminate it. It's vacuum operated, and it sucks. Either convert it to a cable-pull system, so YOU engage it - or go through the pain and shiit-can it permanently with a one-piece long-side shaft and a block off plate for the CAD housing that's in the front axle. I did the cable-operated thing for several years, but just ended up going with a one-piece long-side shaft and a block off plate. That was when I went to the manual hub conversion on the D30. I ran front Lock-Right locker and cable-operated CAD for several years, with no issues, but that front hub conversion was calling my name... I Full Floated the rear axle at the same time as I did the front hub conversion.
  13. Fucker...
  14. And the largest spline count that you can find... More splines = stronger.
  15. I'm not afraid of that auto trans. That's the best trans that MOPAR ever made, right there, with all it's variations of it. It's the basis for every badass auto trans that was every made. The 727/A518/46RE is in my big truck, and I modded the SHEEIIT out of the valve body on that thing, and converted it to full manual control - that means if you're going 80, and you downshift it to 1st, you better floor it, because it's going to 1st... Safety-shifts are gone, it you drop it in 1 and mat the thing, there's no "safety-shift" to second - it'll over-rev. Same for 2-to-3. You lock it in a 1-2-3 gear, and it's staying there- until you pick another gear. Converted the forward and reverse servos to solid servos (no "mushy" shifts), and bumped the line pressure up. Drilled the holes up in the pressure ports, removed a few "unnecessary" check valves, and installed stiffer springs under the "important" check valves, which pushed the WOT shift point to 5700rpm for each gear change. Pull it from Park to a drive gear, but have your foot on the brake, because it jumps. When in "D" and it shifts, you know it, because it smacks the back of your head with the seat headrest... Extremely short shifts, from gear to gear - all those "smooth" auto trans rigs have a ton of overlap between shifts, and that just builds heat. Heat is the #1 Killer of an auto trans. The shorter, and more violent the shift is - the longer your auto trans will live. Install the largest aftermarket trans cooler that will fit in your truck - Really, do that first. I know, because I killed my A518/46RE twice, even after mods... I almost took it in to fix the issues on that Banks turbo system - but the boss was being GAY about it. EXTREMELY Fuckin' Douchy... That shocked me with him, too. I think he was skeered, but I wasn't. Bastard. I'll take the credit for derailing this one... https://media.giphy.com/media/xT9Igk6pl01yVK0FHO/giphy.gif
  16. Brother, if it has tits or wheels, I can ride it or drive it. If it has an internal combustion engine, I can make it more efficient and faster. If it's mechanical, I can tweak it. If it's an electrical circuit, I can tweak it. If it's EFI, I can fuk with it. If it goes BANG! Then I just love it...
  17. You can beef that D30 to within 10% of the strength of a D44, and not go through the swap-headaches, which are there unless you find the PERFECT D44. YJ leafs and spring-over perches welded tothe top of the axle tubes will give you a 5.5" lift. Flex like crazy, too. Easily run 33s, run 35s if you cut the rear fender wells out in the pattern of TJ rear fender flares. The beefed D30 can take it - and so can a beefed D35 rear. If you don't put locking diffs in there, then any "4WD" is really only a 2WD, when you really need it. Open diffs suck, and leave you stuck, unless you know how to "trick them." That doesn't always work, when you're twisted up. I wish I could go back to WA State and take you wheelin' with my old crew, brother. What a bunch of misfit freaks - with bad trucks, in wet, muddy, root-infested PNW woods. THAT is some tough wheelin', up there. Need great nerf bars, because you turn an uphill corner near a tree, and you steer INTO the tree - and use the nerfs and the skinny pedal to "pivot" around it...
  18. Locally, this is good news for Gun Pusher John - he's gonna stock up on the pictures I take tomorrow - then next week, then next week. Just pick up what they drop here. On another note, Wal-mart should worry more about what their "online partnerships" advertise, than what people walk into their store with... This was an old one, but it still makes the point... They don't even know what's advertised as a link or a vendor, on their own website...

^^^ THat's where I tried to learn this shiit, right there!!! @DNP had me on the first buried turkey in 2004!
  20. We need to open that bar on my property, that's the gun shop, range, engine shop with MX track, lake, camping spots around the lake with hookups for RVs. It goes right next to the steakhouse, that's right in the middle...
  21. Oh, you have to buy the beer for this - but I don't charge labor for projects like this... not with friends... I roofed a guy's house in Cincinnatti for beer. 2-story, and the peak was sketchy-steep, and he bought enough beer to try to kill me...
  22. I'll rebuild that 4.0L for you, fool. Weekend is all we need, if the parts are on hand already, and pre-positioned (shipped HERE, just like ammo for a Fall Shoot....)... That's one of the easiest engines in the world to rebuild. Fuckin' simple, brother. Need axles re-geared? Done. T-case or trans rebuilt? Whatever. (Just don't tell me it's that damn automatic - I ain't touching that thing) Add more weekends if you want trans and t-case rebuilds. Except for that automatic - take that bitch to AAMCO... Gimme a week down here, and that's engine, manual trans, t-case rebuilds. Done. Axles - we'll muscle through them in the time we have. I have presses made to do the long side axle seal on the D30 front. Everything else, whatever. I'm IN...
  23. No such animal. That's BS. There's no reason to get rid of it- because you'll never be able to get anything like that back. The new Jeeps are shiit. If you sell that '97, then...
  24. Can the engine in the '87, junk it. Don't do anything to the '97. You know I own a '93 YJ with a 6" coil conversion, right?... Lockers front & rear, full-floated the rear, manual-hubbed the front (you can see the locking hubs front and rear, in the below pic), warn axle conversions throughout, NP231 main shaft conversion, double-cardan short rear driveshaft, cage, engine mods for days... If you need Jeep mods, lemme know. I can advance your ignition timing with a drill bit. We need to mod your MAP sensor after that though...
  25. Saving this for later, but I know it can never disappear - too many have is saved already, (for later)... She can't possibly be THIS STUPID, can she?! Seriously?...
