If there's ever an issue with the HeavyBuffers.com website, you can always call Clint. He's on here, too, but doesn't check in regularly. If he has his email notifications turned on, it'll email him anytime he gets a PM here. You can try it.

What do you have on order or in the mail? Part 2

Mark LaRue showers you in gifts, when you buy from him. It's amazing. Paint mixers, bumper stickers, copies of the "Pocket Constitution," copies of the story of "Forty Miles a Day on Beans and Hay," more bumper stickers, LaRue Dillo Dust... which is no more. You won't get that anymore, that was the old days. Hats, I forgot about hats. I can't find my FDE hat, right now, and that is bumming me out - it's somewhere, I got it with an upper that I bought. The "LaRue Accuracy Report" that isn't necessarily mailed out with your order - it just comes in the mail to regular customers...Targets... Holiday gifts... You shop with LaRue long enough, and they'll take care of you. What I opened above was one box - and there are more boxes. The prized possession was Dillo Dust, which has been discontinued. Gone. I can provide members with Dillo Dust, when they come out here, if they bring their empty container from LaRue - I'll refill it for you. I thought I made that clear one time, but one member here was pretty confused about it - bring me your empty Dillo Dust container that you got from LaRue, and I'll refill it during a visit here. That's pretty simple to understand, I think... Christmas presents are the best, though... -

Here's where that bumper sticker came from, for those that don't know the back-story. https://www.larue.com/page/robert-horrigan-dedication/ https://thefallen.militarytimes.com/army-master-sgt-robert-m-horrigan/929617 https://www.centredaily.com/opinion/article42847629.html -

That's the oldest bumper sticker they make, along with "Extremely Rightwing." They're including "Extremely Deplorable" since the last presidential election. -
@JBMatt - He just completed one for the War Wagon not long ago, and it's badass...
-
Just checked with GP John - he didn't get drawn, either. His dad was drawn for Mule deer and Turkey in that area.

The pics were there before, the barrel is legit - PhotoBucket just plains SUCKS. Don't ever host anything on PB, people - they're extortionists these days. I'll tell my PB stories one day, but they're sent me the threatening emails about "we'll delete your photos if you don't pay for hosting." This was a robot-generated post from them, that I responded to: My last response to them was this:

Where was THIS in the video presented? I just watched the whole thing again, and after that random car for the fuk out of there in the very beginning - THEIR BACKGROUD WAS CLEAR THE WHOLE TIME. The ONLY thing around was a bunch - and I mean a BUNCH - of EMS vehicles. You were apparently watching something else, because that wasn't in THIS vid. Also, since you seem to think there were "way way way to many mistakes made" - then just list TWO mistakes you saw. Also, they are NOT "very very fortunate one of them or a cilvilian didn't get maimed of kilked" as you say - there were no civilians present, minus that car at the beginning of the contact. Tell me, in your opinion - what remedial training would you have them go through?...
-
"No Draw" for me - didn't get drawn for a tag this year. Fuk.

"How about" alot of hypotheticals, that were not present in that situation. You can "what-if" that video to death, then "what -if" it some more. That wasn't presented in that video. Your comments just turned this thread in another direction, so brace yourself for it. There's ZERO in that video that makes me think that EITHER one of those guys need any fucking "remedial training" based on what they did. They couldn't have done that in any other way, and they gave that asshead every single chance to do something different.

Wilson Combat has 7mm-08 barrels in stock for you. For 500 yards and that cartridge, the 16" would to you just fine. It that makes you nervous, then run the 18". https://shopwilsoncombat.com/7mm-08-Remington/products/979/

^^^ That right there, my friend, is Lesson 65b. You snooze, you lose. For real. You need a part, and it's listed as "in stock," you better jump on it, or... Lesson 65b.

Looks an aweful lot like the stuff from YHM, just without the rail sections on there. I don't think YHM makes these in-house, though. https://yhm.net/accessories/forearms/tj-competition-series.html

Just stick a 1/4" wooden dowel down the barrel, and stop when you hit the wood. If you drill with light pressure, you won't hit the other side anyway. EDIT - if you drill with heavy pressure, you're gonna break that skinny drill bit off in your barrel's gas port...

He is such an awesome guy, hands down.

I hit that place often in '86/'87, but I was damn near a weekend regular from '89~'91, brother. You were probably that Giant Bastard across the bar that I didn't want to have anything to do with, later...

Sad news, I got the email about this today. RIP, Will. He was based close to here, in Goodyear, AZ.

Drove through there alot, in the way to MargaritaVille on the Capitola Beach, or on the way to Santa Cruz. I loved that area, back then. I'm not sure what's come of it now, but it was a great area. Watsonville got hit hard in that quake.

That recoil system you linked - is just like all the other DPMS-based recoil systems out there. There's room for improvement in it, and at the bare minimum, I'd replace the recoil spring with the Sprinco Orange spring, if it were my own setup.

Armalite only makes two gas tubes for their AR-10, Carbine and Rifle gas tubes. Their Carbine gas tube is 12 1/16" long. That's the one you need. There are 18 of them in stock at Armalite right now, as I type this: https://www.armalite.com/product/ar-10-carbine-length-gas-tube-10007005/

I've got a complete, badass little .308 rifle that is Aero Precision upper, lower and rail. All other operational parts are Armalite AR-10 (barrel, gas system, BCG, recoil system), straight from Armalite themselves. It runs like a champ. It's completely possible, and it works well in that configuration.

That particular scope (ACSS HUD DMR) is calibrated for heavier ammo, 175gr and 168gr. For a true 100 yard zero, the BDC marks will be more "on" at the distances indicated in the scope. On the lighter ammo, the bullet impact is going to come up short at the greater distances indicated, starting after 400 yards. The longer the distance, the more they're gonna be off, because the lighter bullet is dropping like a rock the further it goes.
