  1. Don't buy that PSA 12.5" upper, no matter what kind of good deal it looks like, unless you want to invest some time in it and make it right. The track record is already there on small gas ports, wrong gas tubes, weak recoil systems, in their .308AR platforms, most prominently in the 18" midlength gas setups they sell. They can't get the recoil system right on a carbine recoil system, no matter how many iterations they've thrown at it. If you're willing to put in the work, drill up the gas port, change out the gas tube to a proper-length (as you can get) gas tube, and make a recoil system that will work on a short-barreled .308 - then get it. If you're not going to do that - then just piece your own together from known, reputable parts. There it is. My $0.02...
  2. You want me to be brutally honest here?
  3. Shooting that .458 is like someone chopping you right in the shoulder with an axe, that was intentionally dulled - it doesn't cut you, and leave blood, but it just shreds muscles... Every time you pull the trigger... "HIT ME WITH THE AXE BLADE AGAIN!!!... " Fucker...
  4. ^^^ See what I'm talking about?!... This is these two bastards, right here:
  5. You know he's coming back like this at the end of summer, right?... There will be lemonade in the beer bottle, but I'll put a stick-on beard on him... The smoke grenade will be real...
  6. Both those kids ROCK... I'm down with the challenge. Day 1, .22LR... Day 2, we get that transmission done... Day 3, we learn how to spit like a man, and how to whistle loudly, without putting fingers in your mouth - men do that, so let's start now, youngin'... Day 4 is to be determined, right now, but it might include tannerite, pumpkins, and a stuffed martian doll...
  7. He cautions you, too, when he says, "Hey! I want you to try THESE out!.." Then he says, "They're a little warm..." My ass, they're "warm..." Fuckin' Wrist-Killers is what they are... Doesn't matter HOW tight you hang onto that gun. I lump those bastards into the same category as his 300 WSM loads out of that lightass bolt gun he's got... He's a sadist, just like Roman... Yeah, Roman... Who the fuk puts a Shockwave Blade brace on a shortass .458 SOCOM pistol build?!... Roman does, so he can see the pain when people shoot it... Jackasses, I tell ya, both of them...
  8. Those fuckers SUCK in a pistol, and hurt like a MFer... You go 40 yards to pick up brass. Hell, if you stand in front of a 10x10 canopy and shoot them, the brass will CLEAR that canopy... and go another 30-ish yards... I wanna see someone with the balls to shoot those through a 16" 10mm PCC... that fucker would blow up...
  9. I pulled this from our brothers at Full30.com. This is an excellent read, and it states exactly what failed. These failures cannot be argued, they are facts. https://slowfacts.wordpress.com/2019/06/11/the-failure-of-gun-control-in-virginia-beach/ Here's the Full30.com link to it: https://forum.full30.com/t/the-failure-of-gun-control-in-virginia-beach/11387
  10. Here's a very good opinion article on exactly what I'm saying: https://gatdaily.com/trump-on-silencer-ban-im-going-to-seriously-look-at-it/?trk_msg=HG0BQJ1153QKN4QPUIQ0467BL4&trk_contact=8V0L65B89JG3CKL2PPP2IG35AC&trk_module=new&trk_sid=INI07QT7C8M3L2D7BB03ML3KQG Here's the opening comments from that article, and it only gets better the further you go...
  11. ^^^ What he said. Here's my details on the recent red dot testing on the 13.5" gun, at 100, 200, 300 and 400 yards:

I'd hate to admit that I'd make a trip for food - but I'm a food whore...

I have to try to make some of that myself - or fly up to your butcher...
  14. Supreme Court? They CANNOT strike down NFA 1934. Only Congress can do that. The Supreme Court cannot.
  15. @DNP, you cut any air holes in the box when you packed him up? Install a water bowl in there? He can't show up dehydrated - we're rebuilding a transmission at the end of the week, and he needs to be on his game...
  16. ^^^ I absolutely love what we're discovering/figuring out with the PCCs now. My Oly Arms AR45 always ran, with an H3 buffer, but double-tapped once in awhile if you were lazy on the trigger. Freaked me out - turns out it was bolt speed, even from a fat slow subsonic 230gr .45ACP round... But this is blowback operation... My AR9 never ran for shiit, until I got a WAY heavier-than-H3 buffer and put in a strongass spring. I was at a point one time that I was gonna put that fukker through the bandsaw, because of what it had cost me over time... .40 Cal is a MFer to figure out, but I think we've cracked it... Now who's the first brave bastard to make a 10mm?...
  17. It's fine. I have one that's 13.5", and I just tested it out to 400 yards, with a red dot, a couple weeks ago. @jtallen83 has a couple 12.5" .308s, @Rsquared has a 12.5" .308 SBR. They're out there and they run when built right. <<< I'll just leave that bolded text right there...
  18. I keep saying it, and it keeps being ignored - they cannot do that without Congressional action, as it's already been determined, and there is law on it that's almost 100 years old.
  19. If you expect it to run like it's overgassed, then you won't be disappointed if it runs correctly. The last thing I saw from them was a real receiver extension that measured 7 5/8" internal depth - but it needed to be screwed in another turn. IF it was screwed in another turn, it wouldn't be 7 5/8" internal depth anymore. My advice was to leave it alone, and take it with the correct internal depth. That beats 8" internal that they've sent out, and 7 3/4" internal that they've sent out. The buffer was still too light, gas port too small, wrong gas tube, and some wonky buffer spring inside it... Read the threads here on the data, and take it apart when you get it. Check it all out, fix the issues you find, and put it back together and enjoy shooting it.
  20. That might only be possible if it's a side-charger. If it has a charging handle, the carrier key is always inside the charging handle groove, and never comes close to the channel in the upper.
  21. Exactly, brother. Look how long it took to get Vegas reports out - and we still don't have the full truth...
  22. Indeed it would, my brother...
  23. Funny fukkers around here, I see... Al @Sisco, the temps were just around 90 for a high (it was over 100 down in Phx last weekend), and the lows were right at 40 degrees. Slept with the loft doors open, and it was GREAT! Mike @Magwa, we did see sign up there, tree rubs, pathways (that weren't cows), deer scat. They're all over the area - just not when we were out looking for them. Fukkers. There are some deep canyons with water, so I'm betting they were down in those canyons most of the day, due to the temps. LOTS of tree scratching from a BIG CAT up there - you can tell me not to worry, but I damn sure don't wanna fight one of those fukkers! Didn't see a single snake, and that surprised me. The only things, besides cows, that we saw were that black bear and the cow elk, and that cat track. I would have sworn that we were gonna slam a coyote. Damnit. Since it was only a scouting trip, the only guns I took were the 19X with mags of ball and snake shot, and the Grendel Mk12 Mod H.
  24. All you do is turn the case necks down. I have a tool from KM Precision Shooting Products that handles that easily. I searched out a couple videos on converting .308 brass to 6.5 Creedmoor, and it looks like a pain in the ass. Making .260 Rem from .308 is easy.
  25. Got WAY down in a valley, near a stream. Explored this for quite a ways up and down, and checked out the deeper pools around the sharp corners - Brook Trout all over in the pools. We need to hit this place again, just to hit the pools... Back up in the hills after that one, to see the higher peaks - check out the views we'll have in the fall: End of Day 2, and back to the barn. Here's the loft of the barn - I could live here, in the barn... Back out the next day to look at more of the land - spooked up a cow elk on the way. This is also grazing land, with cows spread around all over. That cow elk launched herself over a 6ft high fence like a ballerina... This hilltop will be a good place to set up this fall - view forever... Another peak that I don't wanna climb - this is cat territory right here: All in all, one great weekend, and alot of data gathered on the area. Unreal area. We fucked with the coyotes on Saturday night, with the electronic caller - they went absolutely apeshiit that night. We decided to get up early Sunday and hit them. We were out there at 6am... setup, fired up the call... nothing. Moved, set up the call, nothing. 3 hours, and not ONE coyote. Not one. We must have kept them up Saturday night or something, because they were VERY NEAR the cabin and barn when we were drinking at the fire and running the call... Bastards... This fall, can't wait to get back up there and get a mule deer...
