I noticed that you were "creating a topic" in this section, and I've been waiting to see what is was... It was worth waiting on...

The way this thread turned out reminds me of something my buddy posted...

Oh, they did. They didn't drop specs, or publish a TDP like with the M16/M4, but they adopted a platform in the KAC systems, SR-25 first, then with the M110. Individual manufacturers just don't care. They think they have the "newer, better" and it doesn't work, too many times. That leaves us figuring out what they did, and making them run like they're supposed to...

Here's the pics from the Full30 thread: https://forum.full30.com/t/shot-2019-condition-red-s-zero-dark-fifty-a-10lb-ar-firing-subsonic-50-bmg-bullets/9618/4

That's way Mo' Bettah than it being short. When you shorted up the buffer weight, and shorted up the buffer spring rate or length, and shorted up the gas port size a little, and shorten up the gas tube a lil bit - you have a gun that doesn't work. I don't know why the manufacturers can't figure this out...

So, "the barrel that doesn't exist yet" showed up today. SPR profile 16" Grendel barrel from BA, and it's every bit as nice as the other Mk12 profile barrels I'm got from them. I had the lower, buttstock, VLTOR A5SR extension, and rifle spring sitting here from stock. I needed a few parts from DSG Arms to make a lower-minus-trigger, including a VLTOR A5-H2 buffer, so I ordered that stuff up once I had confirmation from BA that the barrel was real. I put the lower together and tossed a stock mil-spec trigger in it for now, until I can get a LaRue in it. BA pinned the gas block on there for me, which was a surprise - I like that. While I was at work today, I thought about something - I have a 16" 300BLK rifle that I built up with a Precision Reflex FDE Gen III rail along time ago, just because. I've never like the setup, as a whole, it just never went all the way to a Mk12, and I never did anything with it after that... Shot well, but oh well. YES! I ripped it down! I'll put a lightweight ALG 15" rail on that 300BLK, and I'll like it alot more like that. I'll have a "spare" PRI folding front sight until I can "Mk12 Mod 0" something in the future - but that's how I got here in the first place - parts stored. I put that damn Ruger GSR flash hider on there for now, so I don't ding the barrel threads. The Allen Engineering hardware will be on this when I get it all wrapped up. Here it is with the Mod 1: I don't have the BCG or a charging handle, and there's ALOT of expensive PRI parts that I need to finish this, and that's gonna take MUCH time. In the meantime, if I raid a BCG and CH from a Grendel, and maybe raid an optic from a Grendel, I can shoot it next weekend and see how it does...

For $87, you can't go wrong. If you hate it, I'll give you $87 for it, and a few bucks more for shipping (first to you, then to me). So, you'll be out not even a penny.

HAHA! This thread is only a few hours old, and it's already delivering!... Welcome.

Haven't seen it before this, but it makes sense. I knew it was only a matter of time, after their REC 7.

I have issues with round not chambering correct

We'll get it sorted out, Phil. -
Big update coming for this one tomorrow night, but until then - here's a fantastic video on the Mk12 Mod 0 and Mod H history: https://www.full30.com/watch/MDEzMTAy/technical-review-and-history-of-the-mk12-modo-and-modh Here's the one he did for the Mod 1: https://www.full30.com/watch/MDEzMDAx/mk12-mod1-rifle-history-and-technical-review @Robert@FULL30, I'm glad you've got that guy on Full30 - he's good!

Yep! I try to set the eyepiece up just about at the end of the receiver - that's a good start, and you can tweak it from there if the eye relief is a little funky. I already know the eye relief on that particular scope, though. ?

Damn, that rifle came out great!... I can't wait to shoot that thing...

^^^ Did the recoil system issues from that thread get solved yet? -

That NIB BCG looks pretty dry, from the camera shot. Just as stated above, need details on the gun's components, and specifics on the malfunction. I see a pretty good dent in the top of that piece of brass, in the pic. Was that piece of brass on it's way out, or on it's way in?... -
Damn great shooting, man! Great job! I like the PPU Match ammo - I have good results with the 69gr Match through the 5.56 guns. It works quite well.

Planned a shoot for today - had to call it off due to rain. Next weekend it's back on.

What do you have on order or in the mail? Part 2

That's a good attitude!... -
Damn, see what I get for being impatient? I went to the link you posted above, and the page was loading slow - I scrolled down until I got to pictures... I saw this, and thought you did the carbine kit: You won't have any issues with a rifle recoil system. I figured that's what you'd have for a gas port diameter...

Guess where Aero gets their BCGs?...

^^^ That knife is so damn nice. Every one of the sales of that knife will see a proceed going back to the widow, as well.

Proper, minimum gas timing.

I figured that was the one. It's a 3.8oz buffer, aluminum body, two tungsten weights, and 2.5" long. The internal depth of the receiver extension is the big part. It needs to be 7.000" internal depth and not any more than that. The one I received from them was 7.100" internal depth, and it took quite awhile to identify that as the source of my weird issues. I chucked it and went Armalite AR-10 Carbine recoil system for the first time. Went that route every other time, too, minus the experimentation with this last gun. Everything I stated previously about the barrel is still pertinent. I think my gas port in the .260 is too small, and it won't even think about trying to extract a 140gr-load casing from the chamber, every single shot. The 147s run like a champ, though, zero functional issues. I'm on a 20" barrel, rifle gas as well. Our barrels are identical, minus the chamber. I'll bet your gas port diameter is the same as mine, 0.071". I am going to take mine up to 0.080" minimum.
