  1. You want mils or MOA? For the scope, go with Primary Arms 4~14, either the mil reticle of the MOA reticle, your preference. You know I'm a mils guy, and Matt is an MOA guy. These ones right here: https://www.primaryarms.com/primary-arms-4-14x44mm-riflescope-mil-dot-pa4-14xffp https://www.primaryarms.com/primary-arms-4-14x44mm-ffp-riflescope-arc-2-moa-reticle Reason for the price difference you see -the mil scope is not illuminated, the MOA one is illuminated... I will say this, for the MOA scope - the illumination grid is far superior to the other PA 4~14 illuminated scopes, specifically, the ACSS HUD DMR line. Put it in a LaRue LT-158 mount, 30mm rings. That mount has 10 MOA of cant built into it - and you'll need it for the distance this round can go.
  2. You need to take up that 1/4" inside that extension, to keep the BCG from slamming the ears on the lower. 4 quarters will do it. Gas port diameter should be close. Slash's Big Buffer Table has the rest of the info you're talking about - click it to make it bigger:
  3. You guys have no idea how bad I hope "his buddy" is actually a guy from X-Caliber, and "his buddy" decides to dip his toe back into this pool again. Bring it. We have 8 stored pages of X-Caliber shiit to unleash here. That's not a typo. For the record, too - because this idiot couldn't understand it - his gas tube is WAY TOO FUCKING LONG - even though he stated that very thing in his thread title. I offered information about gas port LOCATION on the barrel, between Armalite and DPMS, and this asshead jumped to conclusions - that he didn't know what he was talking about. I asked the guy to measure that gas tube, but he imploded before we got to that point. If he had a standard-ish gas tube length, somewhere between Armalite and DPMS gas tube lengths - then YES that barrel is fucked, according to that pic he posted!!! If that RRA LAR-8 gas tube that he tried to use on a DPMS-based build is way longer than other, "normal" shiit - then he, as the builder, just fucked it up, and didn't know what the fornicate he was doing. Just getting parts form where ever, thinking it's an AR15, and it AIN'T. But, we never got to that gas tube length, and he went up...
  4. They're hard to find - DSG Arms has them right now, as I type this. The price is fair. https://dsgarms.com/arm10007005
  5. Armalite doesn't make an AR-10 midlength gas tube. The only thing they do for the AR-10 is Carbine length and Rifle length - and those numbers are different than AR15 gas tubes. What you're looking for is an Armalite AR-10 Carbine gas tube, which measures... DPMS Gas Tube/AR 15/16 Pistol 6-5/8 Carbine 9-3/4 Mid-Length 11-3/4 Rifle 15-1/4 Armalite lengths, Rifle ( 308 ) ----- 15.5 " Carbine ( 308 )--12 1/16" super SASS Carbine ( 308 )--11" Super SASS< Rife (308 ) ? Mid ,( 223 )------------------ 11 3/4" Carbine ( 223) --------------- 9 3/4 " Rifle ( 223 ) ------------------- 15 3/16" AR15 National Match---------15 3/16" (That's myinformation, from the one I have here...)
  6. Good luck with that mentality. You said you were leaving. Bye now... Complete implosion in 2-ish hours here. You are the new record.
  7. I could have addressed this with an edit - but you'd think I was hiding something from you. I get the feeling this isn't the first board that you've done this on - and not the first board you've left. Good luck in your future. Good luck with that combination of parts from different manufacturers, on a platform with zero standards to follow. Hope you get it running.
  8. Yeah, I know that - my space bar doesn't always go - and I catch that later, and edit it. Hope you're not offended.
  9. Research it. There are MANY BARREL MANUFACTURERS placing the gas port location helf way between AR15-length gas port locations, and Armalite AR-10 gas port locations (they're different), in order that most people can use either gas system, and work most of the time. This is common knowledge, for a few years now, but it seems new to you. Also, X-Caliber has sent out barrels with gas ports that are too small, before - and that's documented here. Research.
  10. Yet, here you are. They didn't help you with this issue? Were you referred here to get help with this? There are people here trying to help you - and it's a bunch of bullshiit from you, instead of information that's requested of you to help you with what's going on... So, if you feel the need to leave...
  11. Oh, that gas tube is WAY TOO FUCKING LONG. I'll confirm that right now. That RRA LAR-8 gas tube. In a DPMS-based weapon. That possibly has a barrel with a gas port in the Armalite AR-10 Carbine gas system location. I'll confirm that for you.
  12. When exactly was I "slamming your setup?" When was that, again? You need to understand something, and fast. You come here looking for information, help for your problem. We'll give you that. If you're a dickhead, you won't get help. We don't work like that, here - and that's what you need to understand. If you get all defensive, butthurt, and pissed off, that's on you. You stated information, we ask for more information, you get defensive - and you can just go. Bye. You haven't even made an intro yet, and told anyone here about yourself - we're a community. Not your information slaves. We owe you nothing. If we have information that you need - we don't HAVE to give it to you. Do you understand that? Drop your attitude. Go make an intro - and before you do, read this:
  13. You've pieced everything together from a bunch of different manufacturers, on a platform that has no set standard. The reason I asked about your recoil system is for future issues down the road - as recoil system problems are quite common on this platform, that has no standard to follow. Any monkey off the street can make parts, "custom parts" and bullshiit parts - and we see it all. I asked that question, for YOUR benefit - to head off problems down the road, once THIS problem is solved. I hope you can understand that.
  14. You're lucky - I was going to tell you to fuk off.
  15. You might need an Armalite AR-10 Carbine gas tube here - that all depends on where X-Caliber placed the gas port in this barrel. They're not well known for great gas port diameters, either, so you might want to measure the diameter of the gas port while you've got this thing apart- especially on a 20" midlength system. This is quite the combination of parts, no two from the same manufacturer. What's your recoil system look like, for parts?...
  16. You're gonna need those two quarters, then. No more, no less, to make that out-of-spec receiver extension work. Keep 'em in there.
  17. You're good with that. RIfle extension is good, too.
  18. Okay. Update the thread with your pic of your gun.
  19. You're full of education lessons here. Do you know the exact length of that RRA gas tube, end to end? If not, can you find those dimensions? I'm not aware that they use proprietary gas tubes in their LAR-8 .308 ARs, but they might. If you don't know that length, and can't find that length, do you have the capability to remove the gas tube and measure it? That will be the only way to figure out what's going on here. The cam pin cutout appears to be in the normal location, without measurements. What is this "thing" on your gas tube in this pic? What is that, that's rubbing against the inside of your upper?
  20. Pics, man. Take a picture of the upper, looking down into it, so we can see how far that gas tube extends into the upper. Also, what brand if midlength gas tube did you use on it? There's a definite solution, here. Get the pics in here. Why X-Caliber is using a midlength gas system on a 20" barrel boggles my mind.
  21. Fuckin' SOLD OUT QUICK! I send the contingent of asian hookers to your work address, right? Last time I sent them to the house, that was bad, I remember...
