  1. Jacob, don't let her know you're building it - and she can shoot mine when you come out in Oct... See if she like it, without asking questions that would give away your plans...
  2. That's one of the songs from the Quentin Tarantino movie Death Proof. The song definitely fits for some hot, badass women - if you know why it's used. Johnny would approve of that vid, completely.
  3. ^^^ Yep. That's exactly what I put on my little lightweight. Also, one on the Gunsite Scout Rifle, and it's still alive. One more on the 45-70, just to see if it will live, and it's at 150 rounds through it so far. Tough red dot. (and one on Pinky, one on the M1 Carbine, one on the AR45 and one the 9mm, one on several different other 5.56 guns...) ^^^ I think the one on the 9mm is a Bushnell TRS25... The PA red dot is a tough bastard...
  4. Picked up on this in the X-Caliber thread: On a 5.56 rifle, 16" barrels with rifle gas don't do as well as on the .308 platform - the .308 Win round just has the capability of producing ALOT of gas. Not so much with 5.56. A 5.56 16" barrel with midlength gas will be shooting like a powder puff, with a decent comp on it. Gas port diameter for that config should be around 0.080" diameter. Even with a standard carbine buffer, she's be just fine. If she wanted a little more taken out of it, the H1 buffer would be the ticket. You go rifle length on the gas system, and you're gonna need more handguard to get to the gas block that's another 3" further down the barrel, over a midlength system. Rifle system would also push the weight of the gas block that much further forward, increasing swing weight - might not be alot, but it's something, and perception is reality... My $0.02...
  5. 1, I do get it - you didn't state anything about that, either. 2. Anything that lets you acquire the target, in whatever manner you so choose. There are lightweight sights out there. 3. Not acting like a child at all. I've read your BS elsewhere, and see how you are. Trying to limit that from happening here. "...you think all rifles should be listed with a scope weight" - I never said anything like that, not in the least. 4. I doubt that. Mortar is on video and show me. I'm glad your brother is a LEO - I'm not. I din't give a shiit if you've lost any respect for me, either. Not one shiit. 5. We could always do with one less... 6. You don't know a damn thing about my "shooting style," as you say. Not one thing. 7. Yes, and yes. Just so YOU know, I can keep sub-MOA groups all the way to 800 yards, in more than one caliber.
  6. You're a good man. Not doubting you, but I just had to check. Rock on, wildman! lmfao!
  7. Nah man - breastman is using that in a completely different context, though he might not even understand what he's posting... Completely. He's specifically talking about the fact that he made a "Gen I" .308AR a certain weight - and he made sure to say it wasn't a "Gen II" that he was building, with that weight... For .308ARs, I'll say it again, there is only one "Gen II," that that comes from the specific, patented design that DPMS is producing. There really is not a "Gen I" type .308 AR, just because DPMS decided to make a "Gen II." There are just .308ARs out there. Breastman didn't address my comment about that, did he... Hmmm...
  8. Crush washers are definitely easier - not sure about better, if you'll never run a suppressor. No crush washers for suppressor use, but other than that, they rock.
  9. jeanclaudevandammestevensegal - do you understand what temp sensitive powders are? From our replies-to your replies, it looks like you don't understand what we're talking about... in reference to temp-sensitive powders.
  10. I don't think he's interested in any "usable in the real world" information here. That just doesn't jive with bullshiit weight numbers...
  11. I've seen some shiity .30-cal crush washers recently, but... a GOOD crush washer has 540 degrees of rotation. 1.5 turns all the way around. DSG sells the good ones, if in doubt. With a good crush washer, you shouldn't have an issue lining up a muzzle device.
  12. List 'em. Tell me those companies. Don't post any conjecture and bullshiiit - post FACTS.
  13. Damn great job - that rifle looks very nice. Great work on the coloration!
  14. So, you have a light rifle weight of 87 ounces - and it's unusable because it has no sights on it. Then you go to 7lbs because you have a heavy scope... Why don't you put a set of back up sights on this damn thing, come up with a REAL weight for a usable rifle, and see what that is... Seems like you've gone to some "bragging rights" bullshiit weight of a rifle - with no damn sights on it, so it's junk - so it's a junk weight you gave. Make the thing fucking work, and list the weight of that - without the "heavy scope..."
  15. 62 is still good, brother - sling lead! I love it!!! Here's what I do - I set it at 30, hit it 3 times hard at 30 and see where I'm at on the 3rd time, kinda "how far do I have to go?..." Then I set the wrench at 80, and set the barrel nut in place. If it seats and I "don't click," then it's good. I don't worry about what the specific torque was, as long as it didn't click on 80...
  16. Okay - I'm relieved - that buffer wouldn't have run for shiit in a standard 7" receiver ext. I think the trigger thing was parts-mating-together... that buffer in the ext dry? No light lube on the buffer or spring?
  17. Bastage...
  18. You running the receiver extension that Aero gave you? AR10 buffer is too long for that extension, by about 5/8".
  19. Jacob, if you see someone for sale here, and it's bad timing on $$$, then PM me. I'll snatch it up for you and barter in equal value of slings. Hold out for the Faxon Pencil barrel - after putting a decent amount of rounds through it last weekend, I'm very, very impressed with it. At 1.19lbs, you're definitely not going to find anything that's as: accurate, inexpensive, and lightweight. <<< Nathan has the market cornered on that combination, by far.
  20. Damn, that's sweet!
  21. ^^^ I REALLY like how he thinks. Hell yeah.
  22. What good is that gonna do ya? It'll probably get you parked right there, on your ass, at the exact location that you decided to grow those balls and confront those military personnel. The military isn't your problem, if you truly believe what you're saying - your city government is your problem. Take your caps lock off.
  23. I'd get them involved, man, honestly. Contact the tip line and leave your number - request a callback. That doesn't look like a rock hit it. 602-644-5805 is the tip line. Just request that someone look at the car...
  24. I told ya! It's the "new me..." lmfao!
  25. I'll dig mine out in the next few days and get some pics up - it's very odd, in JT's pics above ^^^ to see a full lug on the extractor. With a full lug on the extractor, it's gonna be damn hard to single-load a round in the chamber and drop the bolt carrier on it - it's not gonna have the room to deflect upward (outward) inside the chamber to get over that dropped-in round... I think... Never seen a full lug on an extractor before. EDT - Eff me, I didn't even catch this when I got it - full lug on the extractor. Now, I'm trying to remember if I dropped the BCG on a chambered round or not. I'll test that soon. Not gonna do it in the house, you know, just because... :)
