Just another little kick in the nutz - the DC Area fucking SUCKS. In fact, it sucks so bad, it fuks up the entire eastern seaboard. Just a reminder. You know, in case you forgot.

DNP - I Double-Dog Dare Ya on the Phoenix Office... Ron - I SAW him post that rail, then say it's sold. I even sent you a PM saying I knew what ya did... <lmao> Ron again - The Great Southwest is HOT. Your career field is HVAC. Hmmm... Maybe they call that "Job Security?..."

if you run a Melonited barrel, you'll have less damage due to the corrosive steel ammo going through it. Rinse it with hot water after firing, clean it like any other barrel, apply lube. Done. Just trying to get you to see the light - and drive the price up. <lmao>

Tactical Scopes: Mechanical Performance Summary
98Z5V replied to kdnevada's topic in Optics & Mounts, BUIS,Sights
Earliest reference of the "DPMS Panther .308" - what it was called when it was introduced - was from Jeff Quinn, Gunblast owner, in October 2003 - and he scooped everybody. http://www.gunblast.com/DPMS-308.htm -
Gary, I got the PM - I'll get the pins in the mail on Monday. <thumbsup>

A trigger doesn't have a damn thing to do with DPMS upper receiver profiles. Not sure if you're aware of that - it looks like you think one would affect the other.

DDLES Pistol Caliber Billet Lowers
98Z5V replied to 98Z5V's topic in Firearm Industry News and Gossip
My 16"-barreled AR45 is damn accurate on steel at 200 yards - whoda thunk it. <thumbsup> The extra barrel length keeps those things moving. -

Also, DPMS didn't make a .308 AR in 2002. I'm calling bull$hit on you, man. -
Tactical Scopes: Mechanical Performance Summary

I was assigned to a Special Forces Group from 1995 through 2004. Nobody had a Shepherd scope on a work gun at all. -
For a long time now, DDLES - Double Diamond Law Enforcement Supply, in Tucson, AZ - has produced some FINE billet lower receivers for pistol-caliber ARs. These things are very high quality, top-notch machining/construction, and are damn well worth the coin if you're building a pistol-caliber AR. Well, DDLES is now out of that business. I don't know why, but all the designs that they had for those lowers has been sold, or attained, by QuarterCircle10, also in Tucson, AZ. It looks like QuarterCircle10 has expanded the lineup, too. They offer the small-frame Glock mag lower, and also a large-frame Glock mag lower. The still offer the 9mm lower in the Colt/Modified UZI mag lower, too, which is what I have from DDLES. Small-frame calibers include 9mm, .40 S&W, .357 Sig, and the large-frame lowers are 10mm and .45ACP. They have BCGs for 9mm Colt, 9mm Glock cut (it's different than the Colt, so it strips from a Glock mag), .357 Sig BCGs, and 40 S&W BCGs. The .45ACP BCG is listed as "coming soon." No mention of the 10mm yet... For barrels, they have 9mm, .40, and .357 Sig, with the .45ACP barrel listed as "coming soon." Also, no mention of the 10mm yet... They also have spare lower parts listed. These lowers are nice, because the ejector is incorporated into the lower, and it's replaceable, and the feed ramps are replaceable - those parts are roll-pinned into the lower. I suspect that DDLES had these guys making the lowers for them, branded as their own, and the manufacturing company has pulled the design back - marketing them on their own. Just a suspicion, nothing concrete in that at all. Just my $0.02... For $275 for the lower, and them making all the necessary parts in-house (barrels and BCGs), it's really a one-stop-shop for a sweet pistol-caliber AR. Check it out: http://www.quartercircle10.com/product-category/products/

If there are ANY foreign forces on OUR soil trying to enforce "laws," the $hit will truly hit the fucking fan. That's why they want all these "Codify" bull$hit laws done first - they do not want to confront the American Citizen, unless that American Citizen is already disarmed. They want no piece of that. And it'll never happen...

I'm all about the Hornady 150gr FMJBT, because it's still supersonic, and nobody loads it for .308 Win - so it's always on the shelves. Good, moderately heavy, slightly fast 300BLK load. <thumbsup>

i've got a standard DPMS pivot pin here that's 1.511" long, and 0.276" diameter. So, too much length, but you can work with a different diameter. If your receiver pin holes are 0.275", then you can bring them up to 0.277" with a "J" sized drill bit, and up to 0.281" with a "K" sized drill bit. I think you'd be fine with the J bit, at 0.277". If you're running a pivot pin that's 0.150" longer, it's easier to get it moving and pop it open. The Battle Arms Development Enhanced Pins were designed 0.070" longer over stock AR15 pins, for just that very reason. You don't even notice the extra 0.070" honestly, and an extra 0.150" would not be a hindrance in any way. Pivot pin solved. The DPMS extended pins that I have are 1.073" in length, 0.275" diameter. 0.090" shorter than the takedown that you have. Might be hard to get moving, but it's in both sides of the receiver, in a non-stressed area. It's captured by the spring/detent in the closed position, and not going anywhere. I have 5 of them sitting here... The Rock River extended takedown pins I have are 1.204" in length, and 0.273" in diameter. That would be about an extra 0.060" in length (get it moving easier), and you wouldn't have to touch the holes to fit it in your lower. I have 5 of these sitting here... So, now that you've posted the measurements, are you ready to experiment? Tell me if you want something sent, and PM me your address, and I'll send you the parts you need to experiment.

DPMS "pattern" rifles and AR10 compatibility?
98Z5V replied to hogwylde's topic in AR-10 General, Technical Discussion
Everything in the lower receiver will cross over from DPMS to Armalite, in the .308s. Armalite runs a different receiver extension and buffer/spring system than DPMS does, but you could cross one whole recoil system to the other pattern, and vice versa - you just can't mix those parts together. Charging handles are the same. Ejection port doors are the same. Forward assist is the same. Bolt carriers are the same. Upper receiver threading is different, so barrel nuts don't cross over, and rail systems/free float systems are pattern-specific. Barrel extensions are different, so you can't cross the bolts over. Gas tube lengths are different. Armalite gas tubes are longer, for their given gas systems. Obviously, there's the magazine difference in the Armalite 10B models and the DPMS brands. That's about it. -
Hello from Faxon Firearms (and Ask Us Anything
98Z5V replied to FaxonNathan's topic in Introductions
Something shorter than 16", that we can bring up to 16.1" with a pinned/welded muzzle device. Don't know if that would be the AR15-standard 14.5" barrel, or if you could go a little shorter, due to the longer .308 muzzle devices. Just a thought. They will sell. I don't know if the whole batch would sell by the time they're manufactured, buy they damn sure would sell. I'd buy one immediately. Try me... <lmao> -
I don't have any "military grade weapons." I don't know anybody that has "military grade weapons." <dontknow> Hey, U.N.! :thefinger:

Yep, hit that nail right on the head, brother.

Sad to see it go, brother - I hope someone here snatches this up. That's a very, very good deal.

The two things in common here - the trigger was adjusted, in both cases, prior to ever being fired. If it's an adjustable trigger, as advertised, you should be able to adjust it. I dropped my AR-15 Match trigger in as it was shipped, and shot it. It works wonderfully. I think I'll try to adjust it to the point of failure, and see if it can be adjusted back again.

Shepp had a reset issue, on the range here during his visit. Quickly found out what it was - follow through on the trigger pull, intentionally, and you had to manually reset it by pushing the trigger forward after that follow through. If you didn't follow through, and just shot, the dicsonnector wouldn't catch the hammer, and it would get caught at the half-cocked position - not enough force to set off the next primer. What we worked through on the range was just to keep shooting for the day - follow through and manually reset. It worked like that. I'm sure he'll jump in here and let us know what's up with it now.
