I can't understand why he was fuckin' with his firearm in the FIRST place!  :wtf:  is the guy doing, anyway?!

Looked like an XDs, no safety.  Maybe I'm wrong, but that's what it looks like.

That guy shouldn't own firearms, and he shouldn't be in a profession that requires him to use firearms to protect others, at times...  My $0.02...  <dontknow>

No matter what make pistol it is , you still have to pull the Trigger ! Just because someone is in LE , doesn't mean they are proficient with firearms handling .

True kid I went to school withs dad was a LEO in our small town he put a hole thru the seat and floor of his cruiser when we were in HS, he carried a glock.

Better yet rookie this fall totaled out the side of a brand new ford his first week by him self. he said he bump one of those pilers they put parking lot lights on, but my buddy who works for the city showed me pictures he Musta been hot ridding thru the lot cuz he damn near ripped the drivers side front wheel off

You guys have no idea how many butts I hurt when I changed the verbiage from "Accidental Discharge" to the more appropriate "Negligent Discharge".

I had to make sure the proper terms were used after an officer let off a 00 Buck shell in the back parking lot. The only saving grace was his proper muzzle control. A small divot in the asphalt is the only reminder that it ever happened.

Why do people do stuff like that?

Looks like he had too much stuff in is hands, dividing his attention, trying to balance the food and possibly sympathetic trigger squeeze?  Either way not the smartest thing to do.

The human brain can consciously handle only two tasks at once. After that things start getting transferred to the subconscious. Here you can see an example of Derren Brown using this mind limitation to trick people in to giving him their wallets and keys.

I have long been a believer that many or most shooting accidents by experienced and responsible gun owners (yes, it happens to many of the best) are result of this and gun owner's lack of awareness of their own limits and I have futilely made effort to bring this problem to the spotlight (apparently arrogance is increasingly taking front seat to reason in a large part of the gun community) who brush it off as made up nonsense and likely at their peril in many cases. But in this particular case I don't buy that as the cause. Playing around with a loaded gun like that is begging for a shooting accident. Being that he was carrying it concealed he must have known it was loaded. You can call silliness on that sort of behavior in an isolated place with a gun you first thoroughly cleared and sheer stupidity with one you haven't but with the love of your life standing right next to you and a gun you KNOW is loaded......that's just madness. Granted, having your other hand full doesn't help matters.
