AngelDeVille
So on my new AR-10A build I just went with and A2 cage, because it's practical and I wanted to keep it under a certain budget. I like the looks of this Stoner Talon eyeball fork, but I am interested mainly in flash suppression, and I understand in that regard, the Smith is the best. What do you guys like for flash suppression? I may consider a sound suppressor in the future, so if there is one that is threaded for that as well that y'all like, let me know. I'm not interested in muzzle brakes at all, just flash supression.
Robocop1051
If you're considering a suppressor in the future... then the AAC Black Out is what you should be looking at.

Not sure how to embed a video here. But I found an a2 vs Smith vs ACC Edited March 9, 2015 by AngelDeVille

Unit works great, throws it forward and to four spots. You might want to look at one which is extended lenght with holes all over it. AngelDeVille
I did get out and look at the ACC, it looks like if I'm going with the suppressor it's the way to go. But I don't think I'm going to have the 1k it's going to set me back right now. ACC is discontinuing the 51 tooth design in favor of the 90 tooth so the 51 is getting sold cheap, but still out of my budget right now I can see how the eyeball fork would catch on things and end up pissing me off, but it sure looks cool. That one is pretty cool shepp, it doesn't look too terribly expensive. Where did you find it?
sketch
For flesh eating I prefer the redx arms (.556/.223) walking dead flash hider

Boerboel guy
I hadn't seen that one, whilst it's missing the eyeball fork, it looks to hide flash very well, and the price is less than the Smith! Not sure how to embed a video here. But I found an a2 vs Smith vs ACC I won't buy from Smith for personal reasons. The PWS Triad also works really well and actually does a pretty decent job of counteracting muzzle climb compared to an A2 or AAC. I believe it will also accept a couple cans. I currently have one of these on my 308 and like it. The AAC Blackout works really well and if you plan on using their can in the future go that route. Just be prepared to listen to a tuning fork ring after every shot. I had one on my 300blk for a short while and it was hilarious to listen to. It really does perform great as a flash hider though. The ring isn't horrible or anything, just funny. I never had issues with mine getting caught on things. If you plan on getting a suppressor, or are even semi serious about it I would figure out which can you will go with and use it's flash hider mount from the get go. Definitely look at the Saker762 and it's mounting system, I was really happy with how that can sounded when I tested it. Once you have a can, it's not like you'll be shooting much without it anyways so the flash hider shoved inside it won't matter much anymore. MikedaddyH
I won't buy from Smith for personal reasons. I agree with that statement ! I have no problem with him sueing everybody over his business practices. It what came out of his pie hole insulting my friend when he was asked a question. I am very sure that has cost him money ,every time he speaks he pisses someone off ! Edited March 14, 2015 by MikedaddyH

ironmonster
I have one of these, It is just shy of a million pounds and feels it mounted out on the end of a rifle. As far as the "anything else" it might be used for I wouldn't get your hopes up. I got a friend who did a legal form 1 build with one and the results where far from spectacular Damn, I have all of those... ^^^ They work pretty well, too. <thumbsup> Since we're down for cool, try one of these babies on for size - use your imagination, and it could probably be used for something else, too...
