My First AR10 Build .............Well, not exactly a full build. More like a completion.
WMD Guns AR 10 Big Beast chassis.
Total gun and internals nickel boron coated.

No I was referring to your serial number of #0018. I have a lower with the same number but a different manufacturer. I should have been clearer.

Damn!  You did NOT play around!

Nice build, I bet that set you back a good bit. Almost full NiB looks amazing, almost makes me wanna drop a month or two of paychecks into getting all my stuff coated....

So, how does it shoot?

Chase it was a big chunk of change to purchase. But, I priced all parts for a full build and the chassis was actually about same price but totally NiBx coated. The only thing not coated is the inside of the barrel. It has Nitromex in it. The price was about how the same as a fully dressed AR10. I just had to add the furniture.

As for shooting it, haven't got there yet. Got my headspace gauge Friday and haven't had time to check it yet. This gun has never been fired and came minus a barrel nut. I feel that checking the headspace before sending a round down range is a wise thing to do.

Sheeit, that cost more than my whole build! So far, anyways, we all know how that goes...

I don't blame you on headspacing, I'd chec any new build, no matter who tells you otherwise. Flaws in the process can and do happen on occasion, and I'd rather be safe than dead.

Are you going to Krylon it? you know spray paint it to get rid of the shiny parts.......  :)  <thumbsup>                                                   very nice Gun......

According to manufacturer you can clean with any non nitro gun cleaner. To me, a soft cloth with a wee bit of Rem Oil does the trick.

<--- Owns a NiB 308AR (upper and bbl ext.)

No lube needed. Clean with a dry cloth.

If you feel you MUST lube on... FireClean was actually designed for NiB coated parts, and will also prevent dis-colorization.

FWIW, I think the "burnt" NiB looks cooler than the fresh/clean/unused NiB.
