Hey all- Just found this forum and thought I'd join in. I'm in the process of building my first .308 AR on a Quentin Defense lower and Aero Precision M5 upper. Slowly piecing it together. Anyway, I'm retired military (US Air Force Security Forces MSgt) and spent more than half of my career sub-specialized as a small arms repairman (known in the AF as CATM). So, I know the M16/AR15 series inside and out, but the .308's, with all of their lack of commonality, are quite a different critter. I had the "pleasure" of bumbling my way through a.308 build for a buddy of mine several years back that taught me a couple things along the way, but there is always more to learn. Looks like a great forum with tons of good information.
