Long_ranger Posted May 7, 2018 Report Posted May 7, 2018 Hello all! I've been the proud owner of a dpms lr-308b since 2009. That gun has been a rockstar tack driver since day 1 (with the right ammo). I recently purchased a diamondback db10 in 308 but am building a second upper in 6.5 creedmoor. I talked to customer service about receiver height and they claimed that it follows the Don's high profile, but from bottom of the upper to the top of the rail is 2.05". I'm not finding much if any info on actually spec and want my handguard rail to be even with the receiver. Can anyone confirm their receiver heights, handguards used, and how they mated up together?
Armed Eye Doc Posted May 7, 2018 Report Posted May 7, 2018 Welcome to the forum. Look here for high vs. low profile rail system. I can't say what Diamondback uses though. https://www.midwestindustriesinc.com/category-s/312.htm
sketch Posted May 8, 2018 Report Posted May 8, 2018 (edited) Welcom aboard. I sent a link similar to the one doc posted to a hg distributor and they were able to have their tec physically confirm the high patter with calipers per the link.. cant alway trust the internet. happy hunting! ARTrooper Posted May 8, 2018 Report Posted May 8, 2018 buy a high profile handguard and a low profile handguard and then just build a second rifle starting with the parts you have left that didn't work on your other rifle. ?
Long_ranger Posted May 8, 2018 Author Report Posted May 8, 2018 Thanks all for the warm welcome! I went ahead and got one offered through diamondback to ensure fitment. I'm really excited about this build as it's going to result in a 22" 6.5 upper for long range and a 16" 308 upper for short range hunts.
ARTrooper Posted May 8, 2018 Report Posted May 8, 2018 I've been hearing good things about diamondback lately for the prices they have.
GoodByNAair Posted May 18, 2018 Report Posted May 18, 2018 Welcome from the "gun loving state" of Maryland..
