RIGHT ON!!!  Damn good meat, right there, man!!!  Excellent work...    :hail::thumbup:

Thank you! I've shot ground hogs all summer with that rifle out to 400yds. I was really looking forward to taking a deer with it. I was satisfied with the results!

Shot a decent 8 point this afternoon with my ruger ranch rifle chambered in 7.62x39, using shitty 123gr wolf steel case HP. WORKED well, he only ran about 15 yds.

Good shooting. How long of a shot was it?

? Congratulations, that's a nice buck.  I think it's cool you used a (not necessarily conventional for Whitetail hunting) 7.62x39 rifle with a shorter barrel too.

I used a very similar round this year. 300 BLK with 125 gr Nosler ballistic tips. 100 yard shot and he went 40 yards. nice little 6 pointer that tastes great, I actually thought he was a fork or spike at first.

That guy looks like he did a Pete Rose headfirst dive into home, right there, faceplanted in the snow.  Great work!

Yup, I was very happy with the amount of damage it did. It had good weight retention, I wasn't picking lead out of the meat. and it mushroomed pretty good based on the exit wound, about the size of a quarter. I hear another good one is Hornady's full bore 110 gr hunting rounds.

yeah actually that stick in between his antlers he picked up when he went down 10 or so feet from where he started sliding.
