Thanks brother, I figure just easier if I pick 'em up down there then bolt them on or throw 'em in the gear bag going back. No taxes at border that way...

Also not sure on their ITAR status, don't want to get anyone in trouble with shipping ITAR controlled items, do able but requires an export permit. You'd be surpired what ends up on the ITAR list requiring export paperwork.

I looked at the Magpul and went with the FAB Defense Spike.

It offers more adjust-ability and if you need less height the legs lock at 45 degrees and if you need a bit more height it comes with leg spacers that add 2 inches.  So the bipod can serve a couple height roles without having to buy another size.  The version I ordered mounts via m-loc.

I ordered two direct from Israel but haven't received them yet and they were $116 each.  If you need them faster, you can order from a US source but the cost goes up about $50 a pop.

Damn. That FAB looks pretty cool. Might have to look into that. All my guns share my GGG bipod right now lol.

I have the VLTOR version of that UTG bipod that mounts to the side rails on my 18" 308. Seemed like a cool idea the way it folds up and out of the way, but it's just a terrible design for anything other than a nice flat bench. No swivel, no cant. Have to drag the feet to make tiny corrections. I hate that thing.

Sorry for the slow reply but I haven't logged in here recently.  Yes I like the bipod a lot and I think it's better than the Magpul a friend has.

Where did you find them for $90?  Is that for the pic or mlok version?

I think they had both versions same price. I they were on DVOR. It's a site that runs deals for a few days at a time. Sometimes great prices, sometime nothing special. The bipods have been up twice at $90 that I've seen. You have to make an account to see the deals.heres a link if you aren't on there already

I have had Atlas V8 for quite a while now; much longer than I've owned my 308ar.  At the time of purchase, what sold me were good reviews, made in USA and that you could get a variety of mounts that worked with it.  So I could use it with with the sling swivel on my 30 y.o. .270 Rem 700bdl bolt action with one mount, and also with my AR15 with an MLOK hand guard.  Now I also use it with my Windham 308ar.  Solid piece of gear. Never failed to function or had anything come loose.  Pans & tilts which is nice. I haven't priced one lately, but for me at least there was value in it working across multiple platforms.  One bipod - I've used it on 3 rifles.

For the money, and how long I've been doing this, and how much I've spent on a bunch of Harris bipods with specialized adaptors over the years...

I'll always use a Magpul bipod.  Nothing on the market can give you the cant and swing - and the durability - that the Magpul bipod can...   unless you drop some major bucks on it.  I found that out the hard way, over time.

This, and the fact that for the price of 1 Atlas that can be used on 1 type of interface, you can buy 5 Magpuls specific to each rifle/interface you wish to equip. It's a no-brainer for me.

Yeah I have an account there and get their emails.  Sometimes I just delete them without reading though.  $90 was a killer deal.
