shepp Posted August 16, 2025 Report Posted August 16, 2025 Played hooky for a day and got up to EAA. Got to see the ME262 replica fly, and listen to a p51 pilot talk about shooting one down. He got shot down later and spoke about being rescued from there. After he was on the allied side he was trying to get back to an air base he just started walking. At one point he came across a c47 in a field when he got to the plane there were some people there in “stripped pajamas” he described them as men with no soul. They were holocaust prisoners, but none of the allied forces knew of the holocaust at the time. also got to see the A10 for probably the last time ever.
Albroswift Posted August 16, 2025 Report Posted August 16, 2025 Great photos. Love the old war birds.
unforgiven Posted August 16, 2025 Report Posted August 16, 2025 Great pictures brother I had the honor off working with a navigator on a bomber when I started in the mill early 70's. Walter was a great guy.🇺🇸
