The middle of December marked six months post surgery, and was my point to be able to "do whatever I want", to quote my surgeon.

So, we're back now from the holiday break and this week I started leading classes again and enjoying full workouts for the first time in quite a while.

It felt amazing to gear up and fight again, I fully enjoyed it.  My chief instructor calls me a bulldozer fighter, I typically just get right in there and bang.  Love it!

Mother of God, my cardio is so depleted!!  I was huffing air like I just ran around the globe, holy hell.  I got halfway through my sixth fight and had to take a knee for a couple of minutes.  But I'm hungry and motivated now, and we have some new recruits that I will enjoy training and fighting with.

Welcome back the cardio will return , it is a funny thing it seems to leave ya faster than you can get it back , but I have found once you have it it always comes back...

Don't be impressed Matt, they're only 2-minute fights.  :)

2-minutes is an eternity!

When inmates would start scrapping, by proper reality fighting rules they had to keep going until the other person was incapacitated or we broke it up.  Even if we got there 30 seconds after it started the participants were usually exausted, looking over their shoulders wishing we would hurry-the-frick-up!

I know when I started using those muscles I wasn't used to flexing all the time, 10-minutes of half-speed sparring wiped me out!  2-minutes was about twice as long as I really wanted to hold my arms up.  :o
