nah it's a math issue. We can see it in the software. It's been there through three machines with the earliest being built by me in 2000. It's not critical to anything and it's not noticeable unless you are looking for it. The other product the machines produce creates a trapezoid based in speeds and inertia at given diameters. 30 years and there has been no complaint and nobody noticed. I believe there is an underlying business related issue and the customer is looking for "something"

haha... owning/running a precision engineering/prototyping shop I can understand where you're coming from. :)

I've had good days and bad too... like in July when one of my machines went kaput and I had to fix it (took a week) and once that one was fixed, the other mill decided to quit.

Sounds like you need some range time to unwind brother.

Nah - He needs some Tom-Time.  I'll fix him.  After 3 or 4 days, he won't even go back to CT.  >:D

I can handle this one.  <thumbsup>

Trying to tie together software with old mechanicals is a tough way to go.If the customer is looking for a "reason" sounds like they want out of a contract.Maybe looking at another vendor.Which isn't good,no one can afford to lose business.

I think the thing that amazes me the most is disagreeing with me on something i designed and built with my own hands. Nobody has a clue how it works. If they tried to replicate them it would be comical from a programming stand point. My bitching aside there were other rejections caused by people we should never have hired in the first place. I repeatedly voiced my opinion publicly about one of these people. That was last winter.

They're NO fun to deal with.  :-[

They're as bas as the EPA - does OSHA have an armed contingent/force now?  Wouldn't surprise me...

I've been lucky the last two times OSHA showed up it was a guy I went to school with we're on a first name basis. I've been lucky more than once to say the least ;)

Most the time they showed on any job I was on it was because of an accident, or one of the generals laborers got wind of it and warned everyone. The generals got their nuts in such a ringer with their insurance co and the sight corp's insurance anymore tho I don't think it would be like when I was on install. Making poop so safe we won't be able to work anymore

Grunt who thinks he knows it all fell through the ceiling of an apartment as we were tearing off a flat roof to up date it with a pitched roof I told him 6/ times from Sunday don't fall thru the damn cealing like his counter part brother Inlaw did a few weeks prior... His roof lisence got revoked imeadetaly and a good dose of shame part two is replacing the damage all good lessons for a loyal grunt but he is becoming expendable as work slows what should I do?

Agree with that Rene.

I had one bonehead kid working landscaping for me, busted ass but constantly put him/me/things in jeopardy.

He unhooked a chainsaw up a palmtree and it SMASHED onto a planted pot next to me and the homeowner.

You gotta do what you gotta do.

Thats the downside to running work.If this guy doesn't want to fly right its not fair to those that do.Work wise "everyone has a story".....I guess you could make him the "ground" guy,but if the others have more skills and are safe. And if you have to cut the crew, you'r back to what you have to do.
