Cali_Ed Posted December 31, 2013 Report Posted December 31, 2013 Now that I have my lower at home and a trigger on the way I'm looking stocks. Ace arfx, rra a2 operator, and possibly magpul moe rifle stock. I only have a pic for the first two what are your thoughts?
Cali_Ed Posted January 1, 2014 Author Report Posted January 1, 2014 Which is the lightest most veritile? The arfx looks to be pretty darn light. Rifles intended use is range and some day maybe hunt ( most likely not but you never know)
392heminut Posted January 1, 2014 Report Posted January 1, 2014 I've got an ARFX on my DPMS 308. I love it! We have Magpuls, either MOE or CTS stocks on everything else. I like the CTS a little better than the MOE because of the buffer tube lock built into it,
Cali_Ed Posted January 1, 2014 Author Report Posted January 1, 2014 Would you say the arfx is lighter and more comfterable?
392heminut Posted January 1, 2014 Report Posted January 1, 2014 Would you say the arfx is lighter and more comfterable? It is lighter and more comfortable than the A2 stock it came with. On about the same level as the Magpuls.
blue109 Posted January 1, 2014 Report Posted January 1, 2014 (edited) Check out MAGS EFX A1, and VLTOR rifle modstock too. The EFX is A1 only. The VLTOR can go A1 or A2. Can also be mounted on a carbine buffer tube. I looked at the RRA stock but it looks like it's A2 length only. I had a ARFX and I liked it on my 14.5 AR, but it was too light for my .308. Made it feel nose heavy. Lots of options out there. My modstock is pretty darn light. Edited January 1, 2014 by blue109
Boerboel guy Posted January 1, 2014 Report Posted January 1, 2014 Magpul ACS-L or UBR are the most comfortable ones I've felt. One is really light weight, the other is a great balancer if your front end is heavy.
Cali_Ed Posted January 1, 2014 Author Report Posted January 1, 2014 Thats vltor looks pretty damn good on your rifle hmmm the choices one must make
Cali_Ed Posted January 6, 2014 Author Report Posted January 6, 2014 I was looking at the asc l for my r15 looks good, hows the weight on it
shibiwan Posted January 6, 2014 Report Posted January 6, 2014 (edited) Hmm.... I do have an almost new black ACS (standard AA battery tubes, not the ACS-L model) lying around that needs a home. :) If you're looking for a fixed stock instead, there's always the PRS. survivalshop Posted January 6, 2014 Report Posted January 6, 2014 (edited) ASC/L very nice & light. Edited January 6, 2014 by survivalshop
FaRKle! Posted January 6, 2014 Report Posted January 6, 2014 ASC/L very nice & light.I wouldn't call the ACS-L "light". I bought one for its heavier weight to balance out my MK216 better. The CTR, MOE, SOPMOD Bravo, and IMOD are light.
Robocop1051 Posted January 6, 2014 Report Posted January 6, 2014 So far I've owned the Magpul CTR, ASC, ASC-L, and PRS, the ACE ARFX and ARFX-E, the SOPMOD, the RRA A2 Operator, and everything Colt. I can't choose just one over the others. Each has an advantage over the others. Some are lighter. Some have storage. Some are sturdier. It all depends on the mission I guess.
unforgiven Posted January 6, 2014 Report Posted January 6, 2014 Waiting for Rodgers Super stock in FDE to come in to add to Lancer Lower. If it works out might put one on Ripper [RRA .308].
blue109 Posted January 7, 2014 Report Posted January 7, 2014 The ACS and ACS-L are exactly the same aside from the battery tubes. You can even swap the battery tubes of the ACS for the flat plates on the -L. I have both and was running them with 1 batt. Tube each. You can run the ACS naked with no tubes and it would weigh less than the -L version, but you would see the slots the plates hook into. There's really hardly any difference in weight between the two.
Cali_Ed Posted January 7, 2014 Author Report Posted January 7, 2014 Preview rra op a2 image.jpg on the pred 20'' That looks super sweet. I started to look at the sopmod style and like simple and clean very nice. Such a hard decision!! ;(
