Yep, lower oven in the dual oven setup. Didn't even bother to clean it.

Took my work home with me, had to hook up  my old compressor (it wasn't even wired up or connected to any of the piping) and didn't get started spraying till 8pm.

Daaaaaaaamn!  WHen you posted those finished pics, it as truly straight outta the oven!   <lmao>

It's nice to pull those outta the oven, let them cool, and go straight to assembly.  I love bake-on Cerakote.

I NEED to get off my ass and do my Patriot Brown rifle.  I'll break that bastard down tomorrow and blast it at work on Friday or Saturday.  Maybe I can get to paintin' and bakin' on Sunday.

Nothing to prove. I've painted my share of cars and car parts.

Wasn't aimed at you, brother, in no way...  My intent in that posting was = you mess up white, dust in it, bugs, whatever, and it's GONNA show.  You pull off the Cerakote white, and any other color is easy.

I'll leave a bug in my Patriot Brown...  Adds flavor...  <lmao>

A bug flew into my FDE lower last night AFTER I had just gotten it sprayed. Had to redo. Tonight it was wife+kids messing up my chi while I was loading the patriot brown parts into oven..... had to redo again.

I would have been pissed.  But, I would have baked that little fucker right into it!  <lmao>

Knock the parts that are sticking out right off, after it cools!  <dontknow>

If I paint one of Ron's rifles, it'll show back up with a stamp in the underside...  <hump>

How much hardener?  What ratio, brother?

Dawn's white, I went in between 24:1 for flat, and 18:1 for satin.  Mixed right in between for that one.  My PB is going on at no more than 24:1, so that thing stays flat.

Stripping it back down isn't going to be any fun.  Back in the blaster...  Damn, brother.

I'll have to look at Dawn Marie's rifle again - her handguard might be a little more shiny than the upper and lower...  Now you've got me thinking...

I think I just went a little heavier on the coat on the rails so ended up different. It's stripped now anyways so back to spraying and baking later this evening.

what type of material do you use, when you blast your parts?

aluminum oxide, 120.  That's what my blast bin is loaded with.
