Cali_Ed Posted October 24, 2014 Report Posted October 24, 2014 (edited) Howdy all each "group" was five shots except the first one since I got a dud Here's my my targets Not sure how to calculate moa tho Edited October 24, 2014 by Cali_Ed
edgecrusher Posted October 24, 2014 Report Posted October 24, 2014 Not sure how to calculate moa tho What was the distance?
FaRKle! Posted October 24, 2014 Report Posted October 24, 2014 (edited) 1MOA = 1.047" @ 100yds. Use that as your reference and divide/multiply 1.047" by the ratio of distance you shot at/100yds to get 1MOA at that distance. Edited October 24, 2014 by FaRKle!
Cali_Ed Posted October 24, 2014 Author Report Posted October 24, 2014 (edited) 100 yards, I'm not brave enough to joke about the distance hahah. With out a chronograph how do I go about analyzing what the diffrent charges are doing. Or is it as simple as which group was tighter at a given charge? Edited October 25, 2014 by Cali_Ed
DNP Posted October 25, 2014 Report Posted October 25, 2014 You know you were supposed to say it. This time it would have been funnier.
98Z5V Posted October 25, 2014 Report Posted October 25, 2014 This belongs in the Reloading Section... I'm just sayin'...
Cali_Ed Posted October 25, 2014 Author Report Posted October 25, 2014 Thanks for moving the thread! I warmed up with normal fed match 7.62 and the p.o.i seemed alot closer to the bullseye. Thoughts?
blue109 Posted October 25, 2014 Report Posted October 25, 2014 you really should have said 800. would have been awesome.
edgecrusher Posted October 25, 2014 Report Posted October 25, 2014 Thanks for moving the thread! I warmed up with normal fed match 7.62 and the p.o.i seemed alot closer to the bullseye. Thoughts? Is that what you sighted in with? Different ammo will have different poi
Cali_Ed Posted October 25, 2014 Author Report Posted October 25, 2014 Yes that's what I initially sighted in with. If that's the case once I find a load that provides a good group, I'd just adjust right?
edgecrusher Posted October 26, 2014 Report Posted October 26, 2014 If that will become your primary load then yes.
98Z5V Posted October 26, 2014 Report Posted October 26, 2014 Ed, in the pic of the group you posted, you're using the caliper to measure from furthest outside to furthest outside - you're adding extra stuff. Measure center to center, furthest rounds apart. That'll cut your number down, and when you divide, it'll give you the real group average.

Cali_Ed Posted October 26, 2014 Author Report Posted October 26, 2014 (edited) Is this the proper way And with the flyer it measured 1.672 Also I had this happen with only my 7.62 fed cases so I didn't use them. Idk if you can tell but the primer is not uniform nvm I need to buy a primer pocket uniformer lol Edited October 26, 2014 by Cali_Ed
392heminut Posted October 26, 2014 Report Posted October 26, 2014 Go ahead and use them, that won't affect anything.
Cali_Ed Posted October 27, 2014 Author Report Posted October 27, 2014 (edited) I ended up taking them out reemed the pocket and they fit a bit better. I'm going to try my hornady match cases but I want some fed 210 primers Edited October 27, 2014 by Cali_Ed
Cali_Ed Posted October 27, 2014 Author Report Posted October 27, 2014 To put the primers in? I'm using the Lee press it self.
98Z5V Posted October 27, 2014 Report Posted October 27, 2014 (edited) I use the RCBS handloading tool, and you can put the rod in there upside down - and it will do what you're seeing there. Unfamiliar with what you're using, but that's worth checking out. One side is tapered, one side is flat - you want the flat side seating your primers. Edited October 27, 2014 by 98Z5V
Cali_Ed Posted October 27, 2014 Author Report Posted October 27, 2014 (edited) This essentially is what sits my primers once I bring the arm all the way back up. That piece of metal on the side of the ram Edited October 27, 2014 by Cali_Ed
planeflyer21 Posted October 27, 2014 Report Posted October 27, 2014 I use that too, Ed, usually after doing several hundred on the hand primer and tiring out.

Dane Armory Posted October 27, 2014 Report Posted October 27, 2014 This is the older Lee version . You can adjust the thrust height by rotating the unit on the threads
Cali_Ed Posted October 27, 2014 Author Report Posted October 27, 2014 What are your guys go to primers, currently I just got a 100 pack to test out of the cci100 I haven't found some 210feds that I want to try
