  1. Its good to try different COL's , all Chambers are different , whats good for one may not be the right or best for another . The 2.795 are , to me , a more consistent grouping . The 2.800 & 2.815 " also show the same consistency , but I would rather have a Cartridge that I know will function in any mag. in my collection , than a very small difference in grouping . It only takes one Cartridge in that mag to move under recoil to have a stoppage , when the COL takes up the available space in the mag. seen it happen . Good shooting .
  2. The AR 15 spring may work or you may get failure to Extract or Eject when fired with live ammo . The AR 15/16 Extractor springs are not made for the larger & heavier 308 AR Extractor . The 308AR Extractor & double spring assemble below is from a complete DPMS Bolt rebuild kit I opened up for Photo's , the small spring fit inside the larger one . Not sure if its done like that now , this kit is an old one . You can see the size difference in Extractors & springs , of course .
  3. Just no respect any more ,in this era of the Queens rule ! Public flogging's for the perpetrators !
  4. I would go with the 2.795 , myself .
  5. DPMS GII <dontknow> Whoops , not on your list . <laughs>
  6. Very tight Chamber, shallow lead to lands or firing pin travel within the Bolt , would be a few. Is the Barrel Marked 308 or 7.62x51 ? Hybrid Chamber ? I would get the round count higher & try them again . This is related to your other thread , right ? Just because they are a well known ammo manufacturer , doesn't mean they will not have a few higher pressure lots or rounds that make it through the cracks & I'm sure they will never admit it .
  7. I'm going to assume this is a 308AR , just find & order a 308 bolt rebuild kit , change out the extractor & spring assembly . I would also check the Ejector to make sure its not too stiff & moves freely in its compression with in the Bolt face .
  8. That investment group is going to get into trouble doing what its doing with Title II transfers . If the dealer doesn't have a form three in his shops name or a form four for the buyers name , someones in possession of an illegal & unregistered Title II ! When I was class three , what ever I ordered come to my shops name & then had to be transferred to the Customer , so if the item was shipped to the Class Three dealer , there should be paper work for the Dealer & then transferred to the customer by form four . If I remember correctly . That is of course , if things haven't changed or there is a new or different way of doing it.
  9. I've had two Jeeps & don't miss them at all . <dontknow> <lmao>
  10. No customers name ? Where's the paper work , they had to come with paper work and it better be referenced to a serial numbered Suppressor ! WTF , someone can go to jail for having unregistered Title II 's !
  11. Did you say "Old " ? <laughs>
  12. Cut down some 5.56 brass , formed them to 300BLK & trimmed . Going to load some more 110 gr."ers .
  13. Factory Match ammo & it pierced the primers , Kinda hot ammo or the rifle needs a higher round count to settle in , to like it . <dontknow>
  14. Sounds like it could be an Ejector or extractor problem . Disassemble the Bolt & clean & inspect . Make sure they function properly & smoothly , check the springs , the Ejector spring can break inside & make it weak. Extractor can have a weak spring or hang up . You could have other things that can cause this problem , the ammo may be one , but just make sure the Bolt components are operating properly . The dents mean nothing , brass was never meant to be used again , but the reloader in me says different .
  15. Is that a 300 win mag receiver ?
  16. And you kept those beautiful original wood stocks , nice . I have a old 1100 , I used for slug & birding & replaced mine with Remington Synthetic stocks . a long time ago . I thought the wood were too pretty to keep taking into the field .
  17. Wow , thats a lot of info . Gotta hand it to the internet <thumbsup>
  18. You guy worry me , you got more wood from a Jeep with a 308AR sticker on it ,then a 308AR with a sticker on it . <lmao>
  19. They look half finished . Wonder if those are ones that were sold once already . <dontknow>
  20. Should not be a problem if the ammo chambers. If it loads in the mag ok , it will chamber & shoot . Some will ask if you have a 308 or a 7.62x51 chamber , but all newer barrels should handle the slightly higher pressure 308, if barrel stamped 7.62x51 . Shoot old ammo at your own risk . You can always pull the bullets & reload with know good components , if you really want to be safe .
  21. You can use the full spectrum of data in the reloading manuals for the 308AR rifles. No need to worry about bending anything like in the M1 series of rifles. As long as you use proper safe loading procedures . Some of the larger weight bullets don't work too well in the rifle if wanting to load them for feeding from the magazine .
  22. I did some Chrono on the 4064 in .223 , might be in this section or I can look it up I'm my log book .
  23. We were all where you are at one point or another , its how we learn . Before you purchase something or a combination of components , ask if it will work , some one has used it or has an opinion about it . It also keeps you away from " The Rule ".
  24. They didn't look too happy . <thumbsup>
