I have one of the original Strike fires on my 300 BLK & I even Hunted with it on a 12 ga. Slug gun & no issues , what was the issue with yours . Also what are you getting for that $ 400 , the Strike fire II alone is not any where near there . Whats the Difference ?
-
Damn , now we can see why the price . Try it in another Rifle ?

If you look at all the friction components ( area's where anything rubs against each other ) in your rifle(s) you will notice break in wear , just the surface coating . Now if you find metal shavings , that can be an issue .

Where's the after target ?

They just passed a case up , didn't they ?

5.56 loads with Ramshot , Tac & X-Terminator Powders
survivalshop replied to survivalshop's topic in Reloading
I had to make more up last night , because I will be testing Velocities with three different rifles . 24" 1-10 ,DI rifle gas , 16" 1-7 , DI Mid gas , 16" 1-8 Mid Gas Superlative Arms Piston system . I want to see if the exhausted gas Piston system looses Velocity compared to the DI gas system ( if at all ). 24" rifle gas , DI , Ultra Match SS HB 1-10 twist rate 16" Mid Gas, DI Wilson s Combat light wt., 1-8, SS Barrel 16" Mid Gas ,Superlative Piston system , Government wt. Brownells Barrel 1-7 Nitrated ( the least expensive bbl. I have ever used in an AR ) -
So they will compensate owners with a penny a Mag, that should compensate them & satisfy the Court ! I'm taking bets it will turn out to something like that , look at the courts it will go to ! This Judge has a set & good for him.

5.56 loads with Ramshot , Tac & X-Terminator Powders
survivalshop replied to survivalshop's topic in Reloading
I have four loads to test with the 5.56 & Tac, X-Terminator Powders , really two loadings with two different Primers , in two different rifles & I also think I will compare velocities with the 16" Piston Rifle & a 16" DI rifle . all 62 gr. FMJHP Hornady Bullets. X-Terminator - 24.5 gr. W/Remington Bench Rest Primer & CCI primers Tac -- 25.5 gr. W/ Remington Bench Rest Primers & CCI Primers . Will post Chrono Data & Target from both the 24" test Barrel Rifle & a 16" Piston rifle. There will not be a comparison of groups , because of the differences in Barrels & Scope power , with the 24" BBL. having the edge in both categories . Mixed with 25-45 Sharps -
Being from the LC , Alice Gear era & now having this new MOLE Packs & Armor , this was very informative . I have yet to add anything to my BOB with MOLE accessories , I will at some point , I had somewhat of an idea how this stuff went on , but now know there is a right way & wrong way . Good job on the video

For the AR 15 , I have two of the Geissele Super 42 Spring & Buffer combo & the are the smoothest I have used to date . I have the set in my 25-45 Sharps & the set up in my Superlative Piston AR . Of course they are for Carbines , wish they would come out with a set up for 308's . I do find it hard to beat the Tubb's FW Spring , but there is something about this Braided Spring that makes it so smooth . Hell , it worked on the brass spiting MG 42 .

Try some 150 gr. Hornady SST's , I load for several hunters down here & all of them use the Hornady SST's in various calibers .( Remington Bolt gun) ,139 gr. SST in 7mm08 , ( Remington Bolt Gun ) 150 gr. SST in 308 & two Browning BAR's 30'06 with the 150 gr. SST . I load all of them using IMR 4064 Powder & all will print under MOA @ 100 yards , but I had to test each rifle & combos of Powder Charges & COL to get there . Brownings only Guarantee 2-21/2" MOA from the factory , after trying various factory loads , thats about all you will get , hand loading the Hornady's made a very big difference , with some groups having some Bullets into the same hole . The Hornady SST is a very good shooter & judging on how many Deer /Hogs they get every year , seems to work .

New Giveaway is Live!

Why, of course I did too. I don't do FB though . -
Well said 98. One thing you have to know is most Barrel/Rifle manufacturers don't Guarantee their Barrels to shoot MOA . Try the different ammo testing & bullet weights to see what the Barrel likes .
-
The accuracy issue , the first thing I would do is run a Copper Solvent through the Barrel to start with a clean slate , so to speak & it will take 40-60 rounds to re-season the barrel , you can try different factory ammo or reloads & see how they shoot to do this . The 1-10 twist rate should handle most bullet weights , its why most .30 cal. rifles have this twist rate . If you can't get the Barrel to shoot well , close to MOA at 100 yards ( after re-seasoning ), I would contact the Barrel Manufacturer & inform them you are not satisfied with the Barrels performance . Also make sure all components are correct & those that should be tight , are tight , Barrel , Scope & Mount /Rings etc . What Chamber is in the Barrel , 7.62x 51 , 308 or some kind of hybrid ? Was Head Space Checked ? Muzzle Devise ( Brake ) ? if so , make sure its not interfering with Bullet Travel . Taking the Muzzle Device off & test firing with the same ammo that was tested for grouping , sometimes is the only way to see if the MD is an issue .

Sorry I misunderstood , I thought you already had one & didn't want to adjust . The ejection pattern is not fool proof way of showing a semi auto firearms health or function properties , in relation to wear & tear . With a new Build it will change with round count . There could be several reasons why the rifle is printing 2-3" groups & may have nothing to do with Bullet weight .

Anything Magpul . I would think that for an a stock to be adj. as you want , something would have to slide in or out or have replaceable butt pads to swap out .

Not pleased but might be jumping the "gun"
survivalshop replied to Navistar82's topic in Accurizing the .308AR
Cant compare a AR to a Bolt Gun , the Bolt gun will out shot an AR , just the way they are made . Comparing apples to oranges . Thats grouping wise , if you want rapid precision shots , the AR will blow the Bolt gun out of the water . -

I shoot 155's & have no problem keeping under MOA on 16" & 20" BBL's . ,Truth ,these barrels shoot much better at long range with heavies , 500 & above ,but 150's should shoot fine a lower ranges . Just don't expert much from surplus ammo , out of any bbl.. Also , some barrels require break in round count . A box or two won't do it . The Barrel may not like that Bullet or Powder , hard to say with out a good inspection & more testing with different bullet combos & Powders . Even with Shot guns , have to find the Combo the Chamber & Barrel likes & barrel ,as said, may need some break in time . Clean with coper solvent , but remember , you may need another 50-60 rounds to re-season the Barrel , for good grouping . -
Adjust the Gas block . I personally don't have an issue with ejection on a new build , well, maybe unless they eject forward in front of the rifle . Get a higher round cost & see where they go , could also be the Ammo .
