  1. Yup, free shipping too! Just ordered one. I've got one on an AR15 already and really like these scopes for the money!
  2. I like to do that exercise with beersteins full of beer, that way when I get tired I have a handy carb supply!
  3. The action type should have very little if any difference on the ballistics. My Sierra tables show a 12.36" drop at 200 yds. for a 165 grn, hollowpoint boattail and 12.01" drop at 200 yds. for a spitzer boattail, both at 2500 f.p.s. 2600 f.p.s. is about an inch less drop for both bullets. This is actual drop from the muzzle, what you are probably looking at is the drop at 200 yds. for a 100 yd. zero. The 4" drop at 200 yds. is about right for a 100 yd. zero with that bullet at the velocity you stated.
  4. Probably get a quicker response if you post your question in the Ammo forum. If you have the muzzle velocity for that round I can tell you what the tables in my Sierra reloading manual show for bullet drop.
  5. Well, that would probably distract the hand wringers from the "In God We Trust" on the trunk lid!
  6. I'm to the point where all my builds will get the delrin plug that Midway sells instead of messing with the FA parts. https://www.midwayusa.com/product/198053/schuster-forward-assist-plug-delrin-ar-15
  7. I've used the CCI shotshells in .44 Mag, 38 Spec./357 Mag and 45 ACP and they were all great snake medicine. We have a lot of rattlers around here and I never go traipsing in the mountains without something loaded with shotshells on my hip. Before anyone asks, the 45 ACP shotshells feed and function great in my 1911s!
  8. But the original AR-10s didn't have a forward assist, that started with the M-16.
  9. Used to be a guy here that had a Superbird with a 426 Hemi. He said at about 120 MPH the car would just kind of squat down a little and get real quiet inside. It was the aerodynamics of the car kicking in and he said it was really weird to experience!
  10. Mayra laughed at this one too Doc!
  11. I was down in Tombstone for the weekend on Veteran's Day so I'm a little late to the party. A BIG thank you to our vets, ALL of them! Tombstone had a parade Saturday morning and Steve, the owner of Big Nose Kate's Saloon and a Korean veteran himself gave a speech at the American Legion at the end of the parade. Those folks down there in Tombstone LOVE their vets!
  12. THIS needs a thread of it's own in the reloading section for sure!
  13. That azzhole was convicted of domestic violence in his court martial hence, he was not supposed to be able to buy a gun or even have a firearm in his possession. Doesn't make any difference if it was a felony conviction or a misdemeanor conviction, domestic violence conviction of any sort removes you from being able to own firearms. The military dropped the ball on him, he was never entered into the system after they convicted him of domestic violence. Records are being reviewed now to see how many other military domestic violence convictions have fell through the cracks.
  14. There is a bit of a resemblance!
  15. Definitely not a 'restoration' in any sense of the word, nor is it "period correct". In the car crafting world that car is what's know as 'restified'.
  16. I would have to question the longevity of a titanium barrel. I had a titanium hammer in my competition STI pistol several years ago and had wear issues with the sear hook. I finally replaced it with a steel one over safety concerns.
  17. It's coming with me tomorrow. And this time I'll even bring ammo that fits it!
  18. Damn, if I were in the market for another 308 build I'd be all over that schit! I loves me some red stuff on my guns!
  19. If it is a true 'restoration' it wouldn't. Stock 426 hemis were only about 500 horsepower tops (the factory rating of 425 HP was to appease the insurance companies). The 426 crate hemis are only around 500 HP, to get more horses Mopar Performance upped the cubic inches. Even the 572 C.I. crate hemi is only rated at 650 HP. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/dcc-5155431
  20. Waterboarding with beer? Hmmm..............
  21. Lee Factory Crimp Die; https://ads.midwayusa.com/product/1016833587/lee-factory-crimp-die
  22. Fuk that too! I don't even want to get close enough to be poking it with anything less than a 10 foot pole!
  23. FUK that schit! I see something like that on my wall I'm gonna have a 12 gauge size hole to patch in the drywall, SERIOUSLY!
  24. I've ran over a lot of schit with my truck and survived!
  25. I ordered a 9mm Carbine buffer kit from them a few days ago. We'll see how long it takes them to ship it out! BTW, I ordered it because they sent me an email saying they where back in stock, so the out of stock excuse won't fly!
