  1. Welcome from Northern Wisconsin.
  2. +1 Good info bfoosh. You are definitely breaking new ground.
  3. Here are your 175's $19.99 / box. http://palmettostatearmory.com/federal-gold-medal-match-308-175gr-sierra-matchking-bthp-20rds.html
  4. Guessing it might have been the Federal Gold Medal Match with a 175 grain Sierra match King BTHP. If it was a game king load, you got the perfect whitetail gun.
  5. Whereabouts in Illinois? That is Illinois abbreveation I assume?
  6. Welcome from Wisconsin and thank you for your service. My father was on the ordnance design team on the early F4 prototypes and at the end of his career worked on the projectile design for the 30mm Gau 8 on the A10. Couldn't talk about it much for obvious reasons. What stage is your build at when you say "trouble shooting"?
  7. Awesome Wash! If I had known about them up here I would have gotten my son involved years ago. Yhey got donated use of a beautiful 56 foot two masted sailboat. Last year they to it to a tall ships rendezvous in Duluth, a 150 mile round trip. These kids are learning the real thing. Pretty cool.
  8. One interest of mine which I have talked about before is the Great Lakes Fishery. As an officer in a Sport Fishing club I have gotten involved in a lot of different things, from raising fish, to fin clipping them, to helping stock them. One project our club started about three years ago was to reduce the incidence of derelict or "ghost" nets. These are commercial or subsistence nets that have broken free, usually due to wind, wave, and sometimes ice action, and drift unmarked, continuing to kill fish, diving birds, and marine mammals, and also pose a threat to boaters, particularly down rigger fishermen, As part of the effort our club had to manufacture 700+ Ghost Net Packs, which give instructions and markers to sport fishermen who have run afoul of one how to mark and report it so it can be removed. I have spent the last three days with volunteers assembling these and will now be distributing them throughout the Lake Superior basin. In doing so I had the opportunity to work with and interact with a group of Sea Scouts. Like their name suggests, they are like boy scouts but oriented towards water. Just a great group of kids. It has made me a lot more optimistic about the future that we are still raising kids like this in our country. They knocked out those 700 kits in under four hours. Anyway, I am just impressed and proud of what those kids have helped us do, and I look forward to working with them again, As the Who said, "The kids are all right."
  9. I remember that! I had to take it to my Dad and get him to sign and send it! Ended up with a 1917 Enfield 30-06 for $23.

Welcome from northern Wisconsin. Nice rifles, Armalite makes good stuff.
  11. Started cutting 5.56 brass with a chop saw to make 300 Blackout cases. Picked up 1 lb. Accurate 1680 and 100 Hornady 208 gr match bullets.
  12. Welcome from Wisconsin. Envious you have pigs to hunt. Wolves and Bear take any that get out up here.
  13. Dillon or Hornady progressive is on my radar.
  14. Last resort, contact RRA and see if they can do something for you. They guarantee 1MOA accuracy with their rifles when new. If you are not the original owner, ask them if you can send it back to be gone over, Sketch is right.
  15. I like and respect Senator McCain, even when I don't agree with him, which is often. In one way or the other he has worked to serve his country most of his life, and I never have doubted he was trying to do what he thought was best for the country.. I hope he can beat this. If he doesn't then I hope it goes easy on him.
  16. Sorry for your loss man. They never ask for much, they just work hard at being your best friend. At least you were there for her and that means a lot.

    Name this band.

Man you're good, show brought back a lot of memories of my youth.
  18. Went to see a show by a 60's remnant band last night. It was a good show. This fellow is the last original member. Any body guess who it was or who he is? Hint: God only knows.
  19. I use the dedicated RCBS depriming die. Never had a problem with any brass.
  20. Send me a PM with how much your asking. I am interested for my new 300 BO.
  21. Welcome from Wisconsin. Did you use small base dies? What is the brass manufacturer? How many times has the brass been used? Are you using standard or magnum primers? But I think you are right, it is the H380. While it is my understanding that Hodgdon doesn't have any data for that powder use in 308, a quick survey of reloader forums shows that any one using a load is using quite a bit higher powder charge than your load. Plus it is a slow burning powder and you are using it with a light weight bullet.. I am guessing that that load is not moving the bolt fast enough to get good ejection, and the second round is trying to load while the first is in the way. I would not try H380 myself unless the manufacturer has data, as you would need to find what the safe pressures are if you are changing the powder charge. The bullet and powder and charge just do not sound like a good match.
  22. Interestimg that is ecactly what the fellow Saturday was using. Thank you
  23. Oops! Forgot to add I have a Lee 300 BO trimmer coming as well.
  24. A Radical Arms 300 Blackout Carbine, A set of Lee 300 Blackout dies, A 2 inch Chop saw to cut cases, A 300 Blackout case jig, and 200 rounds 300 Blackout Subsonic ammo.
