  1. Beantown, I have aBurris 3x10 Fullfield with the Ballistic Plex recticle on my AR10T 16" Carbine. I like it a lot. I haven't messed around with the recticle farther than 185 yards with a 6 mile wind, I hit the clay pigeon on the second shot, first one was no more than an inch off hitting it. Good clear optics, very close to my Nikon Monarch. I picked mine up for Half Price discontinued at Cabela's- $125 if I remember correctly. Consistently shoot near 1 MOA at 100 yards using FGMM or equivalent. Put maybe 400 rounds through it and the scope is holding it's zero. I am using the Burriss PEPR non quick detach mount. I took the 308 chart with precise drops for each aimpoint it came with and taped it to the stock for quick reference.
  2. Is building his own motorcycle line as well.
  3. Nice collection. I need to get a Wilson operating rod and recoil spring for their officer model. I want to see if I can retrofit it to another brand I have.
  4. Also, take a look at the Bassett Machine Mounts. I really like mine. Simplicity.
  5. Nice, nice nice 1911. I am just getting to know mine. Just have to compete with my son for it at the range. As you can see above, Toolndie just got an LRB. I am happy with my Springfield Armory.
  6. Those of you who have and carry big revolvers know what a load they are on your hip. My pants want to head south unless I use a dedicated separate belt. On a friends suggestion I got a Diamond D chest holster for my 4" barrel Model 29. Gotta say I am impressed. Made to custom fit a number of pistol models in Wasilla Al, hometown of Sarah Palin, it is the most comfortable rig I have found. I really don't notice the weight at all. It is, however not a cc rig. I will be retiring my Bianchi X-15 shoulder rig and my belt holsters. Take a look at their web site. https://www.diamonddcustomleather.com/?gclid=CjwKEAiArIDFBRCe_9DJi6Or0UcSJAAK1nFvyseH5cy3zBZtN1Ij1CDu2_b8ag7jp22ZD-T90aAM2BoCsd_w_wcBkk
  7. Get some time I would like to hear why. maybe put it down in our Service Rifles sub thread.
  8. Give your buddy a high five or a fist dap for me. Need more like him.
  9. According to the specs that is direct gas impingement. Change your mind about that?
  10. Welcome from 308AR Midwest-also known as Wisconsin.
  11. Great idea Sketch! Nice job on them.
  12. Going to put it in this week. Couldn't find my punch set so I picked one up today. If it works well in the Colt I am going to get another for an Oly Arms AR15 I am modding. Ran into a bargain bin closeout that had a picatinny rail hand guard, a collapsable stock and a carbine buffer in it. $40 later I can dress up my old Plinker Plus! A better trigger would round it out.
  13. Have you checked out Primary Arms? They make a 2nd focal plane 1x8
  14. Welcome from Wisconsin 1911. A lot of 1911 45 fans on this forum. Some of us like oth the 308 AR's and M1A's/M14's. They both have their strong points..
  15. Might be an inside job. National Park employees aren't well paid.
  16. Welcome from Northern Wisconsin. Hoping for an early spring this year, maybe by July. But that's Wisconsin.
  17. Welcome from Northern Wisconsin!
  18. Nice looking setup . Interested in how the 338 round performs. A buddy has an AR10T rifle in 338 Federal, and I think he may be in the market to unload it unfired. I may have to step in and help him out.
  19. You want to see shot up road signs, go to rural Alaska. And if your car breaks down on the side of the road, you got about a week grace period to move it. After that one day there will be a bullet hole in it. Next day 20. Then it's fair game for any one driving by.
  20. Naw, I am a year and a half short of 70 and I can still tell the difference. Besides, if your not into reloading, I can always give you my address to ship that brass to. That way it won't take up room in your basement.
  21. We have the same problem at our free shooting range. People bring old TVs old glass shower doors, and just about everything else out, shoot it up and leave it. We now have survellience cams which are catching quite a few, but we still need a clean up crew for two hours once a week to pick the crap up. Not to mention the macho center of uranus who emptied an AK magazine into the metal roofs of the shooting stations. When we were building them I caught guys trying to grab brand new treated wood 4x4 posts from the construction materials to set up and shoot at. We had a wheeled target holder and some asshat had to shoot the wheels out! Give em hell 98! I pack whenever I am cleaning up there now, because we are getting sleazier and scumier types hauling crap up there and shooting it up. And I live in an empty part of the country. Less and less respect in this world for what we have and are blessed with. It royally pisses me off.
  22. To throw some fuel on the fire, the thread link below was started by mrraley, Shooter13. If you haven't read it I suggest you do. He worked as an Armorer for Armalite, and taught Armorer courses to gunsmiths on Armalite systems. You may find of interest his feelings on DI versus pistons. Key on debate to go to the thread.
  23. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
  24. Buy the 2k XM80, have a blast shooting it, get a RCBS Rock Chucker and maybe a Dillon progressive, and you won't have to buy 308 ammo for a long time and will have better accuracy.
