    Grilling

I swear officer it's for my damn grilling addiction! ROFL
  2. I like his comment "It's a 70 caliber Glaser round." lol
  3. I remember the intro now. I grew up in Southern California and I always wanted an ArmaLite AR-10. While in the Army I hated the 5.56 and M-16. I was a tank gunner and was spoiled once again by the .308 M240 machine gun. There's that darn .308 round again. A few years ago I bought a Bushmaster Carbon-15. Crap, back to a 5.56, but I still wanted that damn .308 AR-10. It's way more versatile than a 5.56 IMHO. When I found my DPMS LR-308 I couldn't say no to the price. I have no complaints, what so ever, with my Oracle. It's one accurate rifle, and got me back to a .308 on the cheap. And I love the dang thing right down to the Glacier hand guard. But, there is just something about owning the original, and some day I'll have me a real ArmaLite. <bangshead> Congrats again on your AR-10. Now go shoot the piss out of it! lol
  4. I was keeping the tactical closeout stuff quiet shepp, shees man! LOL I bought my Millet picatinny scope mount for 15 bucks on closeout. Gander Mountain wants $50 for the same scope mount. And I'm just passing on what I was told, that anything AR related, was going bye bye from Wally world. Nice to see I can buy the ZQI right from their online store. <thumbsup>
  5. Very good point Blue. I'll add that I have had two, Walmart sporting goods manager, that regional has told them they will no longer sell any AR ammo. I asked both of them then why did they still have .223/5.56? Both answered that they haven't run out yet. I have emailed our district office and no answer as to wether the whole "no more AR ammo" is true or not. I really like the ZQ ammo and was bummed out when I bought the last two boxes my local store had. I sure hope what I was told is not true.
  6. I found cases of Federal MK319 MOD 0 local to me. 130 grain heaven here I come. Buying a case is a leap of faith, but I don't think it's a bad choice. My 16" Oracle should love the stuff. The wife on the other hand, is going to hate > MK319. lol

    Grilling

I was hoping someone would chime in with a smoker recommendation. I like the idea of the pellet smokers. My neighbor is out there manually feeding his wood all dang day. Thanks wash!
  8. Congrats on your new AR10 Quentin. You bought one damn fine rifle! And if I missed you intro, here's a warm welcome from North Carolina.

    Grilling

I gotta get a smoker after seeing this thread. Great pics of some awesome looking grub gents! <drool>
  10. Ooooo, those are those silencers bullets. Vewee vewee quite for hunting those sneaky wabbits. <rofl>
  11. I guess I'm screwed as my Carbon-15 has the Grimm Reaper engraved on the receiver. <laughs>
  12. Nice triplets mineralman! <thumbsup!>

    Coyote

He shot 800 coyotes and didn't even put a dent in them? Dang things are worse than New York rats! Whack a couple of them for me too!
  14. Mine has the same Bomar full ramp on it. They're ass rare as hens teeth. Mines a full out NRA Bullseys pistol. It did me right in any Bullseye match I shot it in. 3.9 grains of Bullseye powder with a 180gr wadcutter and I could average 280 in a 300 match all day long. I have since lost my love affair with the 1911 and it will soon be gone.
  15. You guys are killing me with all these glowing reviews of that RJ trigger. <bangshead>
  16. You're right, that M4-72 put the other brakes in their place. It must be hell sitting next to it at the range. I like the SLR comp also, just waiting for a range report, before possibly buying it.

    KnewB

What's up with the damn warning about .308 products, on Black Thornes home page, not being shipped for 7-14 days? Why would it take 7-14 days to ship .308 parts but not AR10 parts? And then there is this at the bottom of their homepage "All items are as is.". I would have RAN just seeing that. If you really want to read some crap, read the contradiction in their return policy. Sorry about your trouble JRoss. Thanks for telling us who they are. You may have a saved a lot of people a ton of grief. <thumbsup>
  18. Awesome Sketch, congrats!
  19. Welcome aboard from North Carolina. I spent a lot of summer on Lake Shasta!
  20. Another welcome from North Carolina! And watch out for shepp. He's real good at spending other peoples money! <poke> <laugh>
  21. What an awesome offer Sir! The members of this board are the best bar none!!! <twothumbsup>
  22. Dang Mr Mac glad to hear you're doing well!!!
  23. Awesome post DNP. IMO it is so important to teach life skills at a young age. Learning respect and gun safety at an early age is a must in my opinion. We'd have a lot less of these young kids shooting each other if they learned to respect guns at an early age IMO. Good on you for taking the time to teach him the right way!
  24. Congrats on one fine looking weapon. As Wash would say, "Now go shoot the piss out of it.". <laughs>
  25. It change the way "unread content" is displayed also. I hope the new way grows on my. Kind of hard to navigate IMHO.
