    If it was built properly the castle nut should have been staked. That makes getting it loose a challenge till you break it loose.

    Yep the ones JT linked. Just decide where you want one. Slide mount in the opening and install the bolt from the other side.

    I have that stock on my creedmoor. Good sturdy stock. Same height as A2 stock. Except mine is black not green.

    I subscribe to the spare gun theory. I do have spare parts for some things but a spare gun is quicker than fixing one that doesn't work.

    Is the bolt wet with lube? How many rounds has this rifle fired? This platform doesn't always run at first. Use a different brand magazine. Just a few things to look at.

    I'm sorry I meant it is longer than most "308 carbine" buffers. Hard to get the proper weight without using a stainless buffer body on the short ones.

    You will find the buffer tube is a bit longer than the AR-15 carbine stock tube. Buffer is also a bit longer. This is Stoners' design and it works if your gas port is right.

    The section that goes in the charging handle slot. How is it held on?? Is the forward assist hanging up on a bolt hole holding that part on? Just drive the forward assist pin out enough to remove the forward assist. You don't need to drive it out all the way.
