Magazine Wearhouse has ASC for about $15.00 . I just ordered 5 more in FDE. Same price as the black ones. I also have several 10 rnd ASC mags. Ky won't let you hunt w/mags that hold more than 10. I also have some C Products Grendel mags that work fine.

My 20" BCA Grendel shoots well. The heavy barrel 6.5 creedmoor not so well. I replaced it w/a wilson combat barrel and it shoots great. When I replaced the barrel I saw that the gas block was touching the rail so that could have been the problem. I have helped several friends build 223's w/BCA uppers and they are happy with their rifles.

You just like seeing me spend 💰. That's all good though. If I can get brass I'm in. Dies are already on backorder.

I can believe that. It took a couple hundred rounds for my Grendel rifle to settle down. Now if I con find ammo that I can afford. I found some @$3.00 a shot. Not going there yet. I am saving my brass.

Threw an old tasco 3x9 on it and went out back. I have only found 40 rounds so far. I shot 10 of them today. It goes boom everytime. Got it sighted in @50yds so far. Need to find more ammo and decide on an optic.

I've got 250 of the black and 1200+ of the wolf and 150 of the federal w/the 90 gr hp. Also 350 ish of the American Gunner 120's. But I'll still buy more if I can find it except the wolf. Think I have enough of the wolf for now.

LGS has wolf that's it right now.

They headspace off the shoulder of the case not the bullet or case mouth.

Mine is fun. Throws the brass WAY far away.

My Wilson 16" 6.5 creedmoor barrel shoots less than MOA But w/American Gunner sub 1/2 MOA. They make great barrels.

Dave bought a CMMG 6arc w/3 mags in fde for less than 1k. So he is not building.

Faxon 12.5" barrel 7" rail I thought would look good now not so much. I'll order something else. LaRue MBT2 trigger. BCM grip 308 muzzle break w/flash can. Bolt from 65grendel.com Bolt carrier from PSA CMMG lower parts set w/ambidextrous safety. SB brace. Wilson Combat gas tube. Generic gas block. Found 2 boxes of Hornady Match ELD's Just need to decide on optics and a new rail.

If you search the site you will find several threads about what a pain the captured recoil systems are in 308. Yes you can go with light weight components and cut back the gas BUT it will probably only run w/1 or 2 loads. If you want lighter weight build a pistol. I have 2. 12.5" 308 pistols. They are quite a bit lighter than my rifles and out to 3or400 yds they the job done quite well.

You have a AR 15 midlength gas tube. The one you want is the Armalite carbine tube. It is longer than the AR15 midlength gas tube.

Light and low recoil don't go together in a 308. Consider a 6.5 Grendel or 6 ARC. In the smaller frame Ar-15.. All that light weight stuff and fancy captured recoil parts is going to be a pain to get to run right. And when it does it will probably only run right with 1 or 2 specific loads.

Just ordered a pistol barrel from Faxon. Have everything else for a build except an optic. Now to find some ammo.
