Brother, she put some lead and copper out there for ya. What a great build. I'm getting vids up on YT right now, but it'll take awhile. She's a little gunslinger, but... she's starting to turn into a trigger thief! I'll explain later. I have some outtakes to upload, too... <lmao> On another note - I will re-zero my 300BLK for 150-grain projectiles. I'll never load anything else of a different weight. It's perfect. I loaded 20 rounds into some factory Remington 300 Blackout brass, and 20 rounds into my home-brewed cut-down 5.56 NATO cases. 16.5 grains of H110 with Hornady 150 grain FMJ boat tails. Perfect. At that load weight, I should be able to get over 400 loaded rounds per can of powder. EDIT - CCI 400 primers used; 5.56 NATO formed brass was trimmed to 1.363" and loaded to COAL of 2.105", based on Sierra's 300BLK load data for 150-grainers: http://sierrabullets.files.wordpress.com/2013/07/300-aac-blackout.pdf That Rainier Match barrel has a tight chamber, too. I hand-cycled a BUNCH before heading out to the dirt pile. I had a hard time getting rounds to seat and the bolt carrier closed. A BUNCH. Enough that I was questioning my die set, and the barrel. I finally said Eff It, and headed out to shoot the thing. It'll shoot in just fine, but it'll take a few hundred rounds to loosen up. Only one failure to close the bolt out there, and the NiB bolt carrier was only lightly oiled. It'll work itself out, but I'm going to call Rainier and ask them about the chamber dimensions for their Match barrel. Just wanna know what they say, and see if it's any different than the SAAMI spec chamber. <dontknow>

Goin' out to test fire it right now, brother - come on over!

Oh, Sweet Jesus, please don't even think about hunting with that damn thing. It'll try to break your wrist when you shoot it, but it'll certainly shatter your inner soul. Let that one be, as it's pure evil in handgun form. In rifle form, I can only think that it'll try to shatter your trachea with the concussion. That round is the devil... >:D

Now, this is how everything is turning out SO far. Waiting on the special stripped upper and lower, and still waiting on some Cerakote. Everything is here now except for that upper and lower, plus the Cerakote... Luckily, I have a few "extra" uppers and lowers" that can get us shooting tomorrow - so the whole thing went together. <dontknow> Spec list: Dawn's Ghost Gun: AP Ghost upper and lower: RA 14.5" stainless match 300BLK barrel: Spikes Tactical Dynacomp 308 Armalite .223 Carbine Gas Tube Geissele Super Gas Block MAGPUL STR Stock Kit Milspec - Foliage Green MAGPUL MOE Grip - AR15/M16 - Foliage Green MAGPUL MBUS Gen 2 Flip Up Sight Set - Black Lancer L5AWM 5.56mm 20rd Mag Translucent - Smoke Geissele Enhanced Combat Trigger - SSA-E Rainier Arms BCG - Nickel Boron Magpul ENhanced Trigger Guard FCW Guns H6 midlength handguard FCW Guns H6 midlength top picatinny rail You guys don't want to know the prices on that stuff. Brother!!! Right on the north side of Exit 203 is a damn good Mexican restaurant. Might be 1/4 mile off the highway, at the most, on the right-hand side. Directly across the street from it is a cheap hotel. Staying in that hotel was how I found the restaurant... <lmao>

"Hey, I asked the guy if I could do this..." <lmao>

Closest thing to that, that I can think of - Apex. http://www.apexhandguard.com/2360-ar10-308-dpms-15-0-ext-rifle-length-apex-gatorgrip-handguard/

You know what, brother? You beat Jon... <lmao> We need to find a way to kick him into high gear... <laughs>

Oh snap - this might be a factor in the sale. Time will tell. I talked about these guys right here a couple years ago(?). F&D Defense. Their 338 LM platform... http://www.fd-defense.com/index.php/home/fd-news EDIT - I think the 338 F&D Def gun was all drawings at the time - vaporware... EDIT 2 - Found something:

I had NO idea your dad had a pig problem. What can you do about that in Cali? I need to come over for a visit. I've got some "trip flares" that can help with the piggy problem. I'm just sayin'.

Rob, my brother, this has YOU written all over it. Aero Precision.
-
Same here. Used the air-dry last time. Switching to the bake-on this time.
-
YOU are a Point-N-BAM interface, brother. No offense, you just are. I'm just sayin'... <lmao>

Another welcome from AZ. I fled VA when I had the chance, but I was more DC-area. Getting back to AZ was a RELIEF! <lmao>

Keep it, brother - keep building that pile, too. <thumbsup>

Nice looking barrel, brother! I'm racking up another parts-bin as we speak, but I'm still waiting on the receivers and rail. Rail should be here tomorrow. Aero Precision just got the receivers back from annodize today, so it'll be late next week before I get those in my hands. Then I need to paint. Gonna be two weeks before I can shoot this thing. :-[

^^^ That might be true. I plan to run the hell out of a S3G this coming weekend, and get a video up here - might be better in another thread. Was planning to put it right in this thread. I can consistently get split times of 0.011 or 0.012 seconds between doubles and triples, but I don't know it I can do that over a 30-rd mag...

Ron has the tacticals, all over the place. I think he has spares for rifles he's planning on building in the future... <lmao> I've got a NM set, but it's tweaked beyond standard minimum weight. We could send a gauge back and forth, and see what we all get, from the same gauge. <thumbsup>

Yeah, I swear by them. If you don't have a positive grip on the pistol, it's not going to fire a round. There's no way it'll go off accidentally unless you grip it like you should be when shooting. Throw it on the ground, whatever. It won't AD on it's own, with a grip safety. I love 1911s so much that I looked for 1911-like features when Jon (that A$shole) talking me into a plastic pistol. I went with a Springfield XD LE model because the damn thing was almost a 1911. Grip safety plus thumb safety (thumb safety only comes on the LE model in the XD line). Once you use a grip safety, you'll love a grip safety. <thumbsup>

Very, very interesting to see this - the only difference is the primer, but the CCI numbers are over half of the WW numbers. I looked at the other loads, and there aren't "same load but the different primers" in there. I'd like to see more of that, and see if there really is a primer difference. Extreme Spread and Standard Deviation.

Sandy Hook, and the BS attempts after it are the DIRECT reason we can't find half the stuff that just used to sit on shelves, ready to be purchased. Powder, for example. Never had an issue finding powder. Hell, even primers sometimes now. I was calling Mike last night trying to see if he knew of any H110 or Lil Gun in the city, anywhere. Nothing... For half a year, you couldn't find .45 ACP, 9mm, .40, 12ga, 5.56 or .223 Rem, 308 Win... Online was the only way to get it, and you paid out the a$s for it. When you could find a vendor that actually had what they advertised as in stock, really in stock. Sandy Hook is THE reason, buy that or not...
