This article is about a SOF issue. Then, you hopped in, and you know everything - and that's just not the case here. How much time do you have in SOF? What units were you an RTO with? What was your security clearance? I provided a topic - from SOFREP - that is directly about a hire IN SOF - for a position that is not needed, by the author's opinion. Oh, there was never any story for it, because we waterproofed those bitches like CRAZY. I was on a water-team, and our gear got wet often. Full-load training waterjumps were the worst. When you hit the water with a 100lb ruck, plus all the parachute shiit - you better hope you got that right. You never took the chance, because that would have SUCKED... Very badly...

Never had any issues with lithium batts, ever. Even used the old-skool ones in our radios, back in the .mil days. BA-5590s and BA-5598s. Just don't throw one of them in a pond, and make sure the spares are water-proofed AS FUK before you try to swim with them...

^^^ That's interesting, right there, brother. They went skinny on that journal size, down to a .625", and they upped the port diameter to compensate. That combo with a standard .750" journal would be a 0.070" gas port. They thought about that one.

There's no "I think" to reloading... You're new to reloading, it's obvious, because your dad set all this up, and you stated that he followed all the instructions - which means he's not that experienced in reloading, either, if he was following instructions - and not "reloading instinct." All your brass needs to be trimmed to the exact same length, to apply the crimp, with the sizing die (if it has a crimp feature built into it). That's the hazard of those things, if you don't trim your brass to the exact same length, before that reloading operation - then you don't get the same crimp on them everytime. Longer brass - when you run them through that die - bulges the base of the shoulder, and the cartridge doesn't load into the chamber. That's something that easily felt in the press, and it's something that's easily seen, in the brass, when you take it out of the press. The bottom of the shoulder is bulged. That's why you look at every piece of brass that comes out of the press, everytime. There's alot of unanswered questions here, and now it's all about reloading... This just turned into a different animal, in this thread.

Now, here's MY OPINION on this. USSOCOM, altogether, and across ALL individual branches of the military that fall under them - they have ALOT of Civilian workers. ALOT. Some jobs are routine, some jobs, at the top of the hierarchy. If you want one of those jobs that somewhere ABOVE ROUTINE, then you needed to serve in some capacity, INSIDE USSOCOM, in your MILITARY life. Yeah, I said it - you needed to BE IN USSOCOM, in your "past life." And not talking about "just got through it." You needed to FUCKING EXCEL AT IT. You needed to be a badass, that went way above and beyond any "recognized standards" that there were, for the unit that you were in. That needs to be a JOB PREREQUISITE for the Higher-Level Civilian Position INSIDE USSOCOM that you are applying for. Period. After we meet that gate - we'll talk about your Education, that you think qualifies you for this job position that you're applying for. I'm telling you now, there is NO SHORTAGE for Former-SOF guys that have Master's Degrees in Human Resource Management - that they worked their asses off for once they either got out or retired out. And they picked this complete shiit-fuk?... That's my rant, right there. While I have nothing against Mr. Torres-Estrada, what in the world do we need this position for? U.S. Army has been around since June 14, 1775 — more than a year before the Declaration of Independence — and never felt the need for such a position until now. But why now? Did President Trump divide the country so badly that now that we have a Democrat in office, we have to appease everyone by making up a fictional position to keep the politicians happy? Since its official establishment, the U.S. Army has played a vital role in the American nation’s growth and development. Drawing on both long-standing militia traditions and recently introduced professional standards, it achieved the new republic’s independence in an arduous eight-year struggle against Great Britain. At times, the Army provided the lone symbol of nationhood around which patriots rallied. None of which relied on diversity and inclusion. Or, you can do it yourself - and rely on the numbers that you get, instead of what someone tells you was supposed to go into the gun. PSA is famous for this - "it's THIS..." and, it's NOT. You can take it apart and measure and weigh everything yourself. That's the best way to go. Your gas tube length is good. Run with scissors on that part of it.

Brother, I will not lie. I've been hoarding USGI magazines since 19 December 1989. We got a brand new issue of mags to take into Panama. They didn't care about out previous issue of mags... (nice... these bitches are MINE now). I left that unit in 1991. That was when I left the first duty station where they said "Keep those, they're all worn out..." I got my first basic load GIVEN to me!!! AGAIN!!! WooHoo!!! It was even better in SF - every so often, we'd get a new issue of mags. Ask the Armorer, "What are we supposed to do with the old ones?..." Answer, "I don't care, I was told to issue all new mags to everyone..." Score... I retired in 2007. I don't know how many issue mags I have, no idea. In 2009~2010, I started converting them all over to the "new" (then) MagPul rebuild kits. New springs, MagPul followers, etc. It took me year of "monthly budgeting" to convert all those mags - and I put them in several boxes, stored them away. We should have learned this from O'Buttfuk. He was the best Gun Salesman in US history. Seems like the combination of Fake Pandemic, Riots In The Streets last summer, and Smokin' JoeBama have stoked sales even higher, than ever before - and now, for as long as I can remember - it's affected reloading. I don't ever remember all this Panic-Shiit affecting reloading before. But, it's sure fucked up now, if you reload. After Sandy Hook in 2012, Varget powder dried up. I even asked a guy at SHOT show in 2014 about that - he said they were making 5000lbs a month, and it was shipping. With all their other stuff that they make. None. I switched over to Alliant RL-15, and never looked back. Flash forward to now - One of my best reloading shops had to charge me $200 for a 5lb jug of RL-15 last month... Because he can't buy in bulk anymore. Onesies and twosies, when he can find it - but he saved it for me. I paid full HAZMAT fees for that single 5lb jug, too. It is what it is, right now. I had to drop $100 for a brick of CCI 41s. That was $45, in normal times - when the reloading shop received a pallet of them, once a year. Now - he gets a brick here, a brick there - and pays individual HAZMAT fees for every shipment. It's not their fault, and I KNOW there are "price gaugers" out there - but they're not all doing that. It just costs more for them to do business right now, because Panic...

The PRS is now on the 3rd Generation, and can be mounted to a rifle receiver extension or a mil-spec carbine receiver extension. We need to know what you have for a recoil system, not what the stock is. And, the full specs on the recoil system. Receiver extension internal depth, buffer length, buffer weight, spring relaxed length with coil count, wire diameter... Gas port diameter on that barrel is gonna need to be 0.088"~0.093".Where does the gas tube end in the upper receiver. Pull the BCG out and take a pic that shows where the gas tube ends in the upper.
