  1. ^^^ Perfect pic up there, I'm stealing this one for something else...
  2. The products are hit or miss - or should I say the barrels and their accuracy are hit or miss. I have an accurate stainless steel 6.5 Grendel barrel that's 16" and carbine gas, in the M4 profile. It works well. We have another member with the exact same barrel, and the accuracy out of that barrel sucks. BCA has a lifetime guarantee on their barrels, and accuracy with match ammo, and that guarantee can be utilized. They'll honor it. They'll send you a new barrel - just send them the proof (which is kinda hard to do, but possible). Don't let THEM tell you the accuracy of the barrel. I talked to them at SHOT last year - the owner. He stands behind his lifetime guarantee. I specifically asked him how they can make the barrels that they do, for the prices that they sell for (not MSRP prices). His answer was simple. For decades, they were in the OEM auto parts manufacturing game - they made OEM-compatible auto replacement parts. They own all their own equipment (it's not leased, rented, or being payed for). They own all the equipment, and all their building, land, etc. They don't make payments on those things. They realized how much specialized equipment that they had, and decided to use that equipment in another direction - support the firearms industry. Yeah, they needed a few more machines, here or there - so they just outright bought them... That's how they can do what they do, for the prices that they do it. If your barrel accuracy sucks - contact them about it. If you need proof, and you have an inaccurate Grendel barrel - send it to me. I'll give you the accuracy proof that you need to show that the barrel isn't accurate. I have five different flavors of these things that DO shoot, with the exact same load. The one BCA that I have holds it's own with the other (2) BA Premium barrels and (2) Faxon Match barrels. BCA ain't bad - but if you have a bad one, just exercise their guarantee...
  3. This was excellent, brother. Right on.
  4. Colt is who owns the "AR-15" moniker. Just putting that out there.
  5. Shoot that .22 TCM at some AR500 steel targets, before you fully make that determination - see what it does to the steel. Once you put a mag downrange into a decent plate, it might change your mind a little...
  6. P.S. You don't necessarily need a brake on the end of that barrel. You'll have to get the recoil and gas systems working correctly before you can make that determination. Don't spend the money on the brake right now, as it needs spent in other areas first. Hope that makes sense.
  7. You shooting a carbine recoil system or rifle recoil system? What kind of buttstock is on there? Fixed buttstock like an A1 or A2, or is it a collapsible stock? Disregard - I went back through the post and saw the pics. So, yes, you need the Armalite AR-10 Carbine Recoil System - this one is cheaper than possibly attempting to piece together everything: Armalite AR10REKIT01 is the part number. https://www.armalite.com/product/ar10rekit01-6-position-receiver-extension-kit/ Now, this is especially important, right here. For PSA to get a 20" rifle gas system barrel to even perform and cycle with that superlight recoil system that they put in it, the HAD to make that gas port in the barrel undersized. You need to take that gas block off the barrel, and verify the gas port diameter - I'll be you need to drill that port UP in diameter, because it's gonna be too small. Next, where does your gas tube end, inside the upper receiver? Is should end directly in the center of the cam pin cutout in the upper, which is that half-moon looking cutout space in the upper, the space needed for the cam pin to rotate and lock the bolt in the barrel when cycling. See if you can get a pic of that put up - a pic straight down into the upper receiver, BCG removed. Straight down over the end of the gas tube. Don't make your Armalite Order yet - you'll probably need to add an AR-10 rifle gas tube to the order...
  8. You need to look at your other gun issues before you think you start running around here and touting that BS as "fact." It's not fact.
  9. ^^^ This GUY, right here... He's seriously exhibiting the skills of a "Senior Enabler" in recent posts...
  10. They're not working out any of the problems that their platform has - they're masking the symptoms and hiding evidence of a screwed up design. I'm just tossing that out there, so the naysayers can try to counter it. PSA is spending money covering up problems instead of implementing solutions. No other lower receiver on the market needs these "PSA Fixes" that they've made up for their awesome new Gen 3... They say the notches in the lower are to accommodate all the various designs of BCGs... All those BCGs weren't beating up other lowers... Just PSA parts beating up PSA parts...
  11. You ever identify what the blem was in that bolt? It's there, whatever it is - since that's all they deal in is Blem Parts. Good Luck.
  12. Neither of these uppers will be "budget uppers," either. You need to buy quality barrels - not cheapass barrels that are made to capture customers. You need to research the parts that go into the whole thing(s) - those uppers.
  13. Build Aero Precision M5 upper and lower receivers, since you're building the gun(s). 1.5 guns. If you stick to a proven recoil system for the lower receiver, it will work with both uppers...
  14. Local cops are not BATFE agents, and cannot make determinations on BATFE guidance/rules/decisions/etc. Local cops have no business trying to play "ATF." It's not their job, and it's not their jurisdiction. It's over their heads, literally. Unless you commit a crime with a weapon that a local cop has to respond to - it's not their business. Even at that point, had you committed a crime with a weapon that was in doubt, it's not a local LEOs determination to make - he must contact BATFE, and request that they get involved and make their BATFE determination. Local LEOs don't have any authority or responsibility, to determine what is legal and what is not, in regards to BATFE guidance/rules/decisions. They have a responsibility to report to BATFE, if they "suspect" a weapon, but it ends there. They CAN take it/hold it, in that interim, if they really suspect it was used in committing a crime. They can't do shiit on a gun range, if YOU are not committing a crime on the gun range... I told one that, onetime. Straight to him. I shot on a range in a very small town, and there were 4 known BATFE guys in the area - and I'd shot with them before and knew who they were. One of them happened to be on the range that day, when I was shooting a particular firearm, and I was approached and challenged on that gun by a local LEO. I simply told him that I was using it in a legal manner, not committing any crimes with it, and it was none of his fucking business. I didn't mince words, and said it just like that, too. He didn't like that, tried to flex badge-power and threaten me - and my savior appeared, out of nowhere... one of the "local BATFE" guys that recognized me. He pulled mister young LEO officer off to the side, and it was over. I'm sure the young man received an education - I was informed of what was said to him, afterwards. He woke up that day. I hope it stuck with him, and stays with him for the rest of his career.
  15. You'll have to drive again. I'm just sayin'... When you drive out, fully half your truck bed is beer and that's YOUR beer...
  16. Lisa Jean, The .50 Cal Queen... was pretty hot.
  17. That's a damn good one, Mack!!!
  18. Shoot it a couple times. Pull the trigger on it 3 or 4 times, separate the upper and lower - see if your BCG hit your lower receiver. You'll know right away if it did - you'll see the impact marks at about 4 o'clock and 8 o'clock. If it hit, pull the buffer and spring, drop 2 quarters down the tube, reinstall buffer and spring. If your measurements were right on the money, it won't hit - which is a massive improvement for the PA-10.
  19. I'd hear something similar to that, as a kid, right before my Grandpa would whip my ass for something... "You let your Bulldog mouth run your Canary Ass again..." WHOOP!!!
  20. That would be a great undertaking - at a Fall Shoot... That would be perfect...
  21. Was that a typo, brother? You said "in my deck," but I'm not sure if you meant "on my dick..." Just a mixup with vowels, I do it, too... You bringing this thing down here in 1.5 months?...
  22. P80 sends you the proper-sized drill bits you need, and the jig. You need a drill to run those bits. You need a vise or c-clamps to hold the jig together. You need a file, to file off 4 tabs that stick out. You need a knife or a razor blade to smooth everything out. You can literally do a P80 lower in a hotel room, after a trip to Ace Hardware for a few small things. No kidding.
  23. We certainly aren't gonna "cut our barrels down" out here in the real world. I can't even imagine what it would cost to send it out to "get lengthened..."
  24. That's what she said... I'm game for it... Hey, brother - you use what you're given. You get used to the length, and if it works, it works!...
  25. CONGRATS, PAT!!! Hell yeah, brother!!! I'm almost 51.5 now... but that's in your mind and heart. I'm permanently handicapped by Natural Immaturity... ^^^ I still pull that shiit. Once these fuckers here start gathering around, it's the all-night drinking and partying again... THEY are the bad influence... Fuk Kale.
