  1. The T2 will work on an Armalite AR-10 Carbine. Because Armalite uses a different carbine receiver extension. The T2 will not work in a DMPS-based .308 AR Carbine configuration, because the receiver extension is a standard AR-15 part (7" internal depth). ^^^ That's what happened. AR-10s and DPMS LR 308 platforms are different in a few ways, and that's one of them.
  2. I've gotta try this... <lmao>
  3. Not sure, but I don't think he meant to let that one loose...
  4. OUCH! TWICE!
  5. Yeah, that's for damn sure...
  6. There really is an easy answer to both of these comments. I can't believe it's not obvious... <lmao>
  7. HO LEE SHEIIT!!!
  8. Jon, I swear that vid has been posted on this board before... I kid you not... I think you've done it again!!! <lmao>
  9. <lmao> His wallet really does say BAD MOTHERFUCKER on it... :hail:
  10. Hmmmm.... reveal the news, brother!
  11. Which Spike's buffer did you buy? They make 5.56 carbine buffers - which would work in an Armalite AR-10 Carbine (using a 7 5/8" internal depth carbine receiver extension). I'm not aware of Spike's making any DPMS-based .308 AR buffers. The appropriate weight buffer for a .308 AR carbine is H3-weighted, also. If the Spike's is the T2, it's not heavy enough for standard .308 AR Carbine operations.
  12. Awesome interview with Conan - seriously. Pay attention at 2:39... "I'm just a monkey on a gun,,," <lmao> Incredibly humble guy. What a loss.
  13. I suspect there will be ALOT more revealed during SHOT... <thumbsup>
  14. You'll be very well into the "capable range" of 600 yards with a 16" barrel. Even a 14.5" barrel will do it well, with you doing your part. 300 will be effortless.
  15. I need to load up a BUNCH of 5.56 and stack that thing up against the SureFire 60. <thumbsup>
  16. George, the newer version Choate stock is pretty damn nice. Way different than the older version. I highly recommend the newer one. <thumbsup>

  18. If you suspect damage to one of your cases, you immediately take possession of the case and segregate yourself - you take it, locked/secured, directly to their baggage office (if it's not there already), and tell them you suspect damage to your case and contents, and inform them that you want to inspect it right then, in front of them. Proceed with contents inspection. Anything noted, happens right there in front of them, and they take notes. Have them write a report/statement right there, right then. I'm no expert at this guys, and I'm not offering legal advice. I have, however, transported and shipped alot of weapons in a past life, routinely, both militarily and as a civilian. MIlitarily, transporting weapons on a commercial air carrier - that can be fun. Under NO circumstances do you ever let a civilian have sole contact with your full auto rifles and any machineguns (M249, M240, etc.). I've had some close calls with airport security (armed escorts) that start off thinking differently. They might be law enforcement, and don't think they're civilians, but they're damn sure not military and allowed unadultered access to automatic rifles... Couple close calls at Sea-Tac a few times, when they either didn't understand or didn't agree with that... <lmao>
  19. ^^^ Exactly what Fark said. The dimple *should* be drilled on the barrel exactly 180 degrees opposite of the gas port in the top of the barrel - if it isn't, then the dimple is in the wrong place. I also use a gas block to dimple my own barrels. They drill the gas port in the gas block through the set screw hole. Those two line up directly, every time. Put gas block on the barrel, turn it over 180 degrees so you're looking down through the rear set screw hole and down into the barrel gas port, center the two holes up, measure your distance off the shoulder. Flip the gas block over, set the distance off the shoulder, and drill a dimple. Secure. Done. <thumbsup>
  20. UPDATE – Magpul releases details on new 700 items: “Hunter 700, $259.95 MSRP has an anodized aluminum bedding block, uses SGA cheek riser and LOP spacers, has M-LOK slots, has dimples to add swivel studs and places to add our QD sockets, weighs 2.9 lbs, and works with factory Rem bottom metal as packaged, or…. Remove a spacer (30 seconds) and insert our hybrid steel and polymer Bolt Action Magazine Well (MSRP $69.95, includes one magazine) to use AICS compatible magazines, speaking of which… The PMAG5 7.62 AC is an AICS compatible polymer magazine with anti-tilt follower, MSRP $34.95. The magazine holds five rounds as packaged to comply with hunting regulations, but if you clip the follower stop on a pre-scored line, it becomes a 6-round magazine, useful in competitive shooting disciplines or just for an extra round.”

  22. http://soldiersystems.net/2015/01/12/magpul-presents-the-precision-hunter-featuring-the-new-hunter-700-stock-system/ I hope like hell they make that for the Long Action 700... :hail:
  23. ^^^ Exactly. Makes me wonder about the bypass on GJ. This comment in the article troubles me, and makes me think it's the root of this decision to not GJ this case: Someone higher up wants a conviction - even if there might not have been a conviction, when following the proper legal steps... "Someone higher up" would be the DOJ, and Holder, directly. I say try it as it is, with the proper legal protocol for such an action. See where it falls. Seems that some don't want that. They're not interested in the proper process - just results. That's some scary $hit, right there.
  24. That's a relief. You'da been returning a PTR stock, or trying to sell it forever... <lmao>
