slugger43 Posted May 16, 2016 Report Posted May 16, 2016 (edited) Well, Cabela's had a sale, plus I had a coupon, and I could no longer stand the fact that I did not have a 9mm in the house. So, a new M&P Shield. Plus, it does kind of go with my full size .40S&W M&P. Now to get Paul at PJHolsters to whip me up another of his find Kydex ITW holsters.... Edited May 16, 2016 by slugger43
planeflyer21 Posted May 16, 2016 Report Posted May 16, 2016 IMO the Governor is built with far better QC than the Judge, plus you get 20% more firepower before reloading.
sketch Posted May 22, 2016 Report Posted May 22, 2016 Micro approved ? I went to all 3 local gs and i handled most of my top 5 choices except one. The one that made it was at a pawn shop 25$ less than lgs and nib!! Pew pew!!

Sharkey Posted May 23, 2016 Report Posted May 23, 2016 Picked up a new St. Croix Mojo Surf Rod today. 11ft, 3-8 oz, 15-40lb line weight and it'll throw a 10 inch long, 3.5 ounce wooden plug a damn country mile. I've currently got 3 St. Croix surf rods that I switch back and forth between but this will be my first "Mojo" so we'll see how it holds up against some big Stripers. The Striped Bass are coming in and it's time to start hitting the surf again. Even got home to some new wooden plugs on my doorstep and threw in one special plug from a friend of mine that's been waiting for quite some time to get tossed into the salt. I put my polarized shades in there for scale. Looks like my wife is going to have to get used to texting me at 2am at the ocean again pretty soon...
EngrBob Posted May 23, 2016 Report Posted May 23, 2016 80% .308 Lower and stripped upper (.308) from Daytona Tactical.

I used to stay in the motel right next to they're factory in park falls Wisconsin sadly a lot of their stuff is made in Mexico now
Sharkey Posted May 23, 2016 Report Posted May 23, 2016 (edited) Here's a link to the company from Massachusetts that made the top two and the bottom one http://www.saltybugger.com/ and here is a link to the site where the yellow plug was made http://www.afterhoursplugs.com/Classics.html - he's out of Rhode Island. What company are you talking about? Gibbs maybe? Or are you talking about the St Croix? And yes, I do believe they have outsourced some of their stuff to Mexico but they still have the best damn warrantees in the biz... Great products. Sorry, I was thinking you were talking about the photos of the plugs at first. Edited May 23, 2016 by Sharkey
Sharkey Posted May 23, 2016 Report Posted May 23, 2016 I just checked because I know certain models of St Croix are still made in the US. The Mojo I just bought was made in Mexico as were my sons' Triumphs but my Legend was made here and I bought my two Premiers 5 or 6 years ago and they don't list that model anymore. I didn't bother looking up other models since I don't use em really. Great rods all. My mistake on what you were referring to. It certainly does suck to see products you are loyal to being outsourced though.

Have you ever warranted anything with them? my next high dollar rod will come from a small shop I found down the road from them
Sharkey Posted May 23, 2016 Report Posted May 23, 2016 Never had to so far. I register everything when I buy it though. Although I fish off of jetties and rocky areas, I've been pretty lucky about not breaking anything - including myself.
shepp Posted May 23, 2016 Report Posted May 23, 2016 I know some guys who've had issues with their "life time warranty"
Sharkey Posted May 23, 2016 Report Posted May 23, 2016 Yea. No matter what, people are always going to have some kind of issues man. It's the way of the world now. I still love the rods though.
COBrien Posted May 26, 2016 Report Posted May 26, 2016 Bought a bunch of cleaning "stuff" for my 308AR. IOSSO brush set, Dewey Chamber Rod, PatchWorm felt "buttons," and some Otis Copper Remover. Oh, and a Hogue beavertail grip w/ finger grooves. Should be a good weekend.
HoytFlinger Posted June 5, 2016 Report Posted June 5, 2016 I caught a Trijicon Accupoint 3-9x40 on sale at Cabelas today. Bought it for a little over 5 bills. It was $300 off regular price. Couldn't pass it up.
