survivalshop
Looks like some shenanigans going on in Iowa . http://finance.yahoo.com/news/iowa-agency-returns-800-handguns-183857912.html
planeflyer21
We may never know the details of it all. There are lots of these LE returns that happen, often times due to very malfuctioning pistols, where the manufacturer exchanges them. But the public never gets a warning or a recall. blue109
One of my coworkers M&P had an issue recently. The extractor pin started working itself out. Was hanging the slide up. Only issue ive heard of so far. These things run great other than that one.
survivalshop
I had a recall a week after I bought my M&P Shield , a trigger safety issue & a friend of mine had a M&P trigger problem & had to send his back . Mass production & they have stepped up production over since the " Queen " came to power . Edited June 3, 2015 by survivalshop

Only issue ive heard of so far. These things run great other than that one. Wow... I have an aftermarket extractor I want to install in my M&P, but the pin is so solidly in place I broke a punch trying to remove it. A pin falling out by itself sounds pretty weird to me... jtallen83
I'm confident things will be cleaned up properly with Ron Mower on the case, very straight shooter, both literally and figuratively. The Iowa DCI is a VERY independent agency unlike the state patrol, I've never heard of any political leanings at DCI. The details in the article do have a fishy smell, somebody will get Mower'd. 392heminut
You think those three guys might have gotten some freebies from S&W? Years ago we had a retired NMSP captain get hired as our chief. He promptly worked a deal with S&W for new 4046's (which were pieces of schit!) for the whole department. We were pretty certain he got some boot from S&W but we couldn't prove it. We got him fired 14 months after he was hired for racial bias though, he was a real P.O S.!

survivalshop
The M&P 9mm has other problems for those not used to them , as seen here . http://www.latimes.com/local/california/la-me-sheriff-guns-20150614-story.html#page=
planeflyer21
ALWAYS keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot! Takes a special kind of person to shoot themselves in the leg whilest drawing from the holster. Let a round fly when tripping over a stroller in a closet? And the old "It's a good thing I was in the bathroom when my pistol 'just went off' by itself." The most important "safety" is between the handler's ears. 98Z5V
Awesome quote from that last article... <lmao> "If you still have your finger on the trigger when you put it in your holster, you'll end up with a stripe on your leg," Fairburn said. blue109
The really offensive part of that article : some split tail can't qual at the range. She files suit. We can assume that she won the lawsuit because the department changed weapons. In addition to that taxpayer funded ridiculousness, she probably either got a big payout, or the job...or maybe both. This "civilization" has just about run its course, and I'm a-ok with that.
MikedaddyH
They made quals equal for both men and women and now their are more women on the force. One of my BFF's from school is a Deputy Sheriff in South Florida and she worked hard for the job. No lawsuits needed. Can't blame all the women for the actions of one. unforgiven
That's why I like the 1911 grip type safety on Xdm.Thumb on striker pin on reholstering.I would say ND is still operator error.Jus my 2 mags.
blue109
Can't blame all the women for the actions of one. Who blamed women for anything? I don't even blame that cunt for suing. More power to her. I blame an idiotic system that let it get anywhere. Edited June 14, 2015 by blue109
