ChaseFan9
Y'all think it's humid in those places?!?! <lmao> <laughs> Right? Y'all come out to SE Georgia (or Cajun country), we'll show you some humid heat. It's almost 1a.m. over here. I just walked out on the porch, and it's 90°F and 80% humidity! Airborne School in July, Ranger School August through October. First 2 of 4 phases were in Georgia. Next Georgia "Hot!" story, please... <lmao>

planeflyer21
AC in the work truck waves the white flag around 102°. Rest of the day is like climbing in the oven. I wondered how you keep your svelt figure. GITMO in the waters around Cooba, in July and August. No such thing as "dry".

jtallen83
I went to fort Benning in June, then went to Airborne school. I have got to say... I am glad that I didn't go to Rasp afterwords ;-) Arrived in Benning late June for basic/AIT then did Jump school before heading out to HAAF in Savannah. By the time I got to the swim test in RIP they had to break the ice off the pool so I got a taste of both extremes that year. Those swamps down in Ft. Stewart were no picnic either, I looked forward to training at NTC just to get out of the humidity!
beachmaster
I was supposed to be in the last Rip class ever, before it changed to Rasp. I had an rg40v contract I believe it was. Everyone who had the contract was lied to and told that if we didn't have a pt score of 330 on the pt test in 3 days, that we would loose our contract entirely, but if we dropped the Rip part, that we could keep airborne and get duty station of our choice. Being a scrawny runner at the time, with a pt score of 27x, I decided to choose the airborne unit that would be deploying the soonest, the 173rd. So I chose Italy. I got Germany. Go figure lol

beachmaster
Mike daddy, I don't know if I could make an effective boresnake, and if I did, I don't think that it would compare to the hoppes or Otis brands. Cool idea though!
